Hi, new subscriber here. I bought my 1st pair when they were first introduced in the autumn of 2010. They came out in the 1st collection after Mr. Valentino Garavani retired, and they never included extra studs before the SS-15 collection. All the details on the shoe including studs and mounting of them are hand done, and with the natural friction that can happen to the studs when walking, they might come off once in a while. My experience is that they take quite some beatings though, even my oldest pair is still holding up beautifully and I use all of mine (have them in all heelheights) a lot.
One can also get in touch directly with Valentino through their website and have the studs replaced by them in Italy. You chose a lovely color for your pair.

Thanks for the video because of your info I was able to take my recently purchased flat tie-up to the Valentino Boutique in Miami Design District and right away they were ready to assist. Due to the leather fabric they will have to send them out to their artisan it will take 2 weeks.
If you bring them to Nordstrom they carry the studs and the tools to fix them on the spot! It took them about 15 minutes and my shoes looked brand new!

Oh my gosh, thank you for this video! I have a pair bought three years ago. Only worn twice because I'm afraid of losing a stud. How silly, right? I feel better now. :)

Don’t glue them on! They screw on the bags but I’m not sure about the shoes but still I wouldn’t glue them on!
