First, I’ll show you where the power comes from to bend strings 2-steps, 2-and-a-half steps, and even 3-step bends! Some guitarists use the muscles in their fingers to bend strings. While this can work for smaller string bends, it’s hard to do for big bends of 2 steps or more.
Second, you’ll learn how to use the leverage from your forearm muscles to easily play string bends as wide as even 3 steps!
Third, I teach you how to use these massive bends and have them sound awesome! After all, if it doesn’t sound good, there’s no point to play them, right?
Very large interval string bends on guitar are not that hard once you see a better way to do them.

The secret is light gauge treble strings, you can still use heavy gauge strings on the bass side but use a lighter custom gauge on the top

I was about to ask the same thing. Would love to hear more on this subject.
I’ve always been under the impression that scale length and string gauge are important aspects of bending to consider. It’s always easier to bend on a short scale guitar. It’s much harder on 25.5” because the strings are more taught. At the minimum, I’d think you’d need 10’s on a short scale and 9’s on 25.5” to have the best chance of bending easier. I’d even suggest 7’s or 8’s, but make sure the guitar is setup for super light strings. Lots of the best guitar players are now moving to 7’s and 8’s because they sound less muddy and are just so much easier to play - less resistance and easier to play with a super light touch.
If you’re playing 13 or more, don’t expect to be able to bend much if at all. Even Stevie Ray Vaughan switched to 10’s later in his career. Interestingly, few people know that or ever discuss it even when they do. He probably realized it made him a better sounding player when he wasn’t wrestling with 13’s, lol.
