TY for posting this game. I just used it as an example for my son, pausing before the rook fork that you discussed as an overlooked move. The commentary of how you have to be looking for these tactics provided a nice puzzle for him to solve and we talked about how important it is to examine 'what if moves'. Looking at the consequences of that line making the transition from a candidate move to becoming the winning move was very instructional.
Why isn't the Alekhine defense not played in top GM tournaments like the candidates? I have also heard from my chess friends that its extremely boring. What is your review of the alekhine defense?
for one of the games, can you pick one where black loses in an instructive way? perhaps something where black goes for the common idea but it didn't work out. eg it wasn't prepared enough, or a slight difference from white ruined the plan and have to switch to something else. as an amateur i feel like i understand the basic ideas and plans, but i execute it poorly.

Hey bryan! Remember me from the k(12) tournament in Memphis?
Mayyyybe I did meet a few people there.
I took a picture with you the last day there
We love the Alekhine! Also, the Short & Sweet version is excellent, I hightly recommend it to anyone.
Thanks! With the new updates to the main course the repertoire is getting meaner and meaner.

I would check out my book on the Alekhine on Chessable if you want those types of questions answered.
