Dude, I am in love with this app. I love that it being on the iPad, it gives it ultimate mobility. I can animate on my bed, on a desk, at a coffee shop, take it when traveling, etc. I was learning Adobe Animate, and it was okay but requires so much hardware and takes awhile to get everything started up. Also it's not as intuitive as Toonsquid. It's like Toonsquid took everything Adobe Animate has and can do, but simplified it. It makes Adobe Animate seem bloated.
I agree with everything you say! However, at least for me and my work there are times when the simplicity of ipad animation works great (gifs , social media stuff, frame by frame loops, storyboard/animatics) but when it comes to animating a animated short film with everything that come with that package (aside from the things mentioned earlier) I still prefer the complexity the clonky machine with multiple monitors etc brings
@@ChrisOVEMERY that's true, I guess it really depends what one is working on. For example I'm just trying to focus on short form videos, so no longer than a minute. I noticed it'd be a nightmare to work with the timeline on iPad for a bigger project. Maybe that's Toonsquid's audience? Short form animation creators.
Chris! MORE TOON SQUID PLEASE!!! - I’ve been messing around with Adobe Ch on the Desktop and frankly the learning curve is gruesome. I’m no ToonSquid UberMeister, but the fact that it is on my iPad and so, much more intuitive has me totally hyped! Looking forward to whatever you can do to instruct us on ToonSquid! 😊
Oh man thanks! Going to try this out! And yes more tutorials on this app! First time hearing about it. My 11 year old animates on his iPad and uses procreate but mostly uses flipaclip. Will for sure have him try this one out
Procreate is great for drawing, Flipaclip is great for quick animations.great user interface. But they both lack in key features. Looking forward to trying out Toonsquid
I will have to think about looking at toon squid. I have mostly been using rough animator, and calipeg, this seems cool. Tutorials would be interesting to see on this channel.
I remember finding toonsquid in a production server a few weeks ago when someone recommended it, and since then me and a few pals have been using it a lot. It’s really useful, and has a lot of features that are similar to adobe animate/flash.
Plz more tut ! Thanks I got it like since 1 month ago but I haven’t used it yet so I’m just waiting my holiday to start! I wanna take this app seriously ❤️🔥
I just got Toonsquid. I used to do some animation using Adobe Flash, and so far I'm seeing many similarities. Movie clips in Flash are symbols in Toonsquid, for example.
I’m loving ToonSquid! Thanks to your tutorials, I just finished my first 120 frame animation. I do appreciate the ToonSquid tips and tutorials from your channel, I prefer to keep my animation short and simplified so I only use my iPad Pro. Thanks for your work and I look forward to all your future content.
no its a combo of alot of things - backgrounnd art in photoshop, fire animation loop in toonboom, character in adobe character animator - and everything combined in After Effects
Definately recommend it! Its amazing how much you can do with a USD 400 iPad + USD 12 program. Compare that to getting the full desktop rig along with the programs on there.
flipaclip pixel quality is poor, procreate quality is the best but for an animation app is the worst, toonsquid is the lite ipadversion of adobe animate
Happy you like it. They are made with toonboom harmony and after effects. I have a intro breakdown video up on my channel pretty recently talking about it.
by the way is it easier to animate on Ipad or a tablet?,, because going and sitting wherever you want and making animations seems like very ease and enjoyable process than sitting on front of a desktop whole day
It is easy and enjoyable, but there are limitations to the small format. Its just not possible to have a program with complex riggs and advanced animations. For that you want the focused desktop experience with (if possible) multiple monitors. But for fun light animation from the spot of your choice its awesome
I’m new to animation & on seeing your recommendation on Toon Squid got me really excited. As you said, it appears to be a fairly new app so not many tutorials about, so yes please as many as you can muster would be greatly appreciated. Looking forward to many more from you Chris.
Most people haven't even scratched the surface on Callipeg and have no idea of its capabilities. Then a shiny new thing comes out and they go ooo aaah. Symbols without the ability to use is other projects is practically useless and yet in callipeg and rough animator one can use layers from other projects.
@@ChrisOVEMERY It's not about what people have made, it's the tools available. Anyone can make practically anything in any program. Besides, the comment wasn't about you it was about the fan boys who are only too happy to abandon a hard working independent developer when they don't even know it's capabilities. I own and use both programs.
I understand what u mean ! from my personal experience callipeg and toonsquid are both equally viable for me! but because of callipeg being much more costy... not so rich people like me prefer toonsquid!
Yes, more Toonsquid please. Would really appreciate a tutorial on using symbols and loops.
Its coming!
I’ve already got a few tutorials on my channel 😉

It seems like wishful thinking, but I actually think it’s possible to make an animated movie with just this app. I just don’t have the patience.
Its def doable!
I just got Toonsquid. I used to do some animation using Adobe Flash, and so far I'm seeing many similarities. Movie clips in Flash are symbols in Toonsquid, for example.

Damn your outro music bangs hard.
Can you put music or sound over the top while animating? That's the biggest thing I've been looking for! And copy/paste of only part of a frame
Did you use Toonsquid to make the animation in the beginning with the fire blazing?

There is an art app called, Art Studio Pro! It’s cool! You are gonna love it!
Wish there was a free app like toonsquid, oh wait there is but it's comparatively worse.
Is it flipbook style or bone animation?
Can this app use universal stylus or 3rd party stylus, cause calipeg Only can use Apple pencil
