Wow Hayley, you are incredibly stoic……getting through a hectic weekend whilst not feeling at all well, you are amazing! Looks like lots of special memories created though :) I’m so pleased you all enjoyed it 😊 Can you explain why there are two statues of greyfriars Bobby in what seemed to be different parts of Edinburgh? (One you rubbed the nose and the other by the church?) Is Granny Mo (sp?) your mum’s mum? What would you have chosen to study if you had gone to Edinburgh university? Sorry, too many questions 😂 Thanks for the update….. I enjoyed it ……..oh, one final question, why does it say ‘WARNING - luggage theft on the rise!’ On the video? Poor Anneka (sp?) …..we saw the picture twice!
Thanks! I'm so glad I did, it was absolutely amazing! definitely some brilliant memories. yes, the Bobby fountain where we rubbed his nose, was put up some years after his death by a women called Lady Burdett-Coutts who was a very wealthy but incredibly generous lady ( she done lots for charity ) it was to honour the memory of little Bobby. The gravestone and other little monument is where he is buried and is another memorial for his devotion and so he can be close to his owner who's grave he sat beside for 14 years. Yep, Granny Mo is my mums mum. We all have a funny connection of birth years, granny mo 1954, my mum Lisa 1974 and me 1994! I always wanted to study medicine or History, those were my big interests. No not at all, I love to reply and thank you for taking interest too 🙂 I hadn't even noticed! where did it say? Anika didn't mind, I think she is seeing the funny side to it now! 😅✨
@@Plainlyhayley the warning re luggage theft was next to where it tells you how long the video is and how many minutes you have watched…. Although I just went back to check and can’t see it now 🤔. Do you have a favourite period or type of history? I love social history - how the average person lived etc.
I haven't a clue sorry, I never knew it popped up. I'm not sure what happened with it. Totally baffled! I have a few, I love Tudor history, Scottish history but mainly I love anything royal related. I love envisioning how they lived, what they ate what they gossiped about at court! My dream is to one day visit Hampton court but know London would be a nightmare for someone like me! I have been addicted to Time Team since I was a kid and still rewatch them to this day. I actually have been looking into getting a history degree. Power of the internet now, I can just do it all online! Only thing that puts doubt in my mind is it's a 6 year course and I don't know if I will live to do anything with it, and also I have adventures to go on! I'm not sure yet, who knows 🤓✨
@@Plainlyhayley You could even do something like the open university….they are designed to allow people to work but study in some of their spare time(or you study when you aren’t too ill)….. and you can sign up just for one topic and if you don’t want to do more that’s fine. My chap is over here on the island with me and my mum since Covid hit, but he actually lives (has a house) in Kingston Upon Thames…. Which is just over the bridge from Hampton Court :) it is a fascinating place with many different styles of building all joined together. The grounds are huge for London and there are still deer in the park. It is strange to stand where you know Henry Vlll must have stood! I was rereading your comment about the birth years of you, your mum and your Granny……your family has almost squeezed another generation in compared to mine…..my mother was 36 when I was born! I am the second child, but my mum was definitely classified as old when she had my brother and me 😂
I think thats a good idea. I have looked into the open uni before and looks great. in Scotland we get free education so all cost are covered. Thats amazing you got to see it. the building looks beautiful, I think it was the cardinal at the time of Henry VIII that added the red brick been as it was popular at the time. The inside with some of the original tapestry and engravings still marked from his marriages its just amazing. I agree, standing in places that such famous figures once stood would feel so surreal! a few years ago before my great nan passed away, we had 5 generations alive. The women in my family have children very young! although my mum and aunt both at their last at the age of 40, meaning a 20 year age gap between Anika and me!
Looks like yiz had a great time! Fair play to you for getting through it despite the chest infection, what a legend! Great you see the kitties welcoming you home. Thanks for another great video. Great shopping by the way. Take it easy after that adventure!
We did, it was amazing! I'm so glad I did push myself and just take some extra pain relief because it was honestly so much fun and an amazing experience. They know when I come home from even a few hours out, to get excited for goodies in the bags 😅. Thank you ✨
Aw amazing! That was the big secret I had been working on. I wasn't allowed to say anything until it went live! So glad you liked it, I was so nervous, I couldn't sleep or anything through sheer nerves 😅 Thats honestly amazing, your both wonderful people for doing so 🫶✨
You are on 6 L of O2 and they said you aren’t eligible for a lung transplant? I’m a nurse, that doesn’t make any sense! Edinburgh and Harry Potter was so awesome, lucky you!
yes, 6L since the Newcastle trip, before that it was 4L which I have been on for over a year now. It's complicated! They've said yes I am a good candidate for transplant but - A. just not yet, because my condition just now is stable, and my body is managing with low o2 and my other organs are coping. B. Because the transplant will be so high risk due to my prior operations, my survival rate is very low (even for an incredible high risk operation. ) so they've basically said they don't want to do things to early and take away time I would have otherwise had, hence the close monitoring and things. Hope that helps? It was so incredible, id love to do it for all the Harry Potter movies now 😅
