I used to teach and agree. Older kids/teens can be very insufferable to be around. Many of them have absolutely no respect and are verbally abusive. It's gotten so much worse than when I was a kid. It's already a stressful job with low pay, especially with school shootings now being so common it's just not worth the time, student loans, or your life to become a teacher. Even before covid there has been a massive decline in teachers, and the shortage will only get worse if things don't improve. The US education system is so broken.
