Sorry to hear COVID bit you, Doug but glad to see you're on the mend.
Sorry you are still suffering from this wicked virus, Doug! I hope you will completely recover very soon. Many thanks for continuing to publish reviews despite your illness. All the very best!
💐💐💐💐💐
Speedy recovery Doug! Take care.
Thank you kindly
One foot in the grave but still thinking of us. What a hero! Thanks for the tip.
Thanks so much!
Hope you get better Doug. So long without watching your videos: it's a beautiful pen. I want it. Greetings 🤠
Many thanks!
Wish you a speedy recovery.. take care🙏
Thank you, I will
Feel better and stay safe.
So sorry to hear about your condition. Wishing you a speedy recovery Mr. D.R.
Get well soon!
Doug- wishing you well in your recovery.
Get well soon Doug! Thanks for the video. I also watched your long knife / blade description video. Invaluable!Thank you!
Sending healing vibes. I am obsessed with white pens! Thank you so much❤!
Rum, honey and lime juice. I don't know if it works but you might want to try it a few times while reducing the quantities of the last two each time!
With enough rum, you just don't care!
I just put in one of my other jinhao converters that doesn't have as much play in the knob
Make sure the o-ring is thin enough, I tried this to stop the rattling in my 9016 and the o-ring was just a bit too thick and unscrewing the barrel twisted the converter knob resulting in a mess.
Good tip!
I love these fountain pens, but why is it they seem pretty well tuned coming from China, but if I spend a grand on a pen in the states, I have to send it out to be worked on. It’s crazy.
Brilliant
Thank you for this extremely practical tip! - Always ask the professor for the most elegant solution!
I would probably have wrapped a handkerchief around it or something…
This reminds me of having to order a pack of silicone rings.
Your voice still sounds a bit raspy. Keep up the good recovery! 💐😻
Great tip! :)
Tq again .....actually i will save alot... ...if i were to resume the pen hobby....now✍️🤠💯
That's such a great simple tip that I'm sure would work in a number of other pens.
It does!
I found out the rattle issue only occurs when the "piston" was in screwed-down position. Once it is screwed up, same as in the fully inked position, no rattling.
It is reduced when full of ink.
Get well soon, Doug. Looking forward to watching that 9013 review😊
Coming soon!
@@InkquiringMinds In the meantime I will buy an Asvine V200 after watching your review.
Wishing you a speedy recovery, sir. Well done for making a video up to your usual high standards!
Thank you kindly!
Don’t have a silicon O ring, so goin to try a tiny little rubber band. Feel better! Thx! 🖋🙏🏻🥁🥁🥁 ( My hubby is a drummer, who is also recovering from Covid.)
Rock on!
Thank you for a great review Doug! I hope you get well soon
Thank you, I will
I hope you feel better very soon. Thanks for this tip. I have a few pens I shall apply it to.
My 9016 doesn't rattle but the 9019 does and the o-ring works on that one too.
Hope you feel better soon, Doug.
Rattling converters are pretty common. My recently purchased $200 Leonardo MZ Black Sands does this and it's kind of annoying. I'll have to try the o-ring fix. I'm assuming you can get them at hardware stores?
I'm not sure about hardware stores. I got mine in the Penbbs parts pack.
Doug, o rings can be found where for purchase?
I got mine in the Penbbs parts bag for $8. They have them in stock on Etsy now and then but you can also find them (more expensive) on both Aliexpress and eBay. Search for Penbbs parts.
I hope you get well soon! Nice video! I got yet 9016 after your review and skipped the 9019 as I thought it was going to be too big for me (am I wrong?), What do you say Doug? Should I go for the 9019 and 9013 ;)
I like all three for various reasons. I never skipped the 9019, I did in-depth reviews.
I have to get this pen. I have the other Dadao models so how could I not get this one?
The Heartbeat nib is very wet and for me produces a wider line than stated.
The rattling has always annoyed me with Jinhao pens. The 9019 and 9016 have flanges in the barrel to hold the converter. Obviously not the 9013. The O ring fix is perfect. Now I can use this for the 9013 and for my Jinhao 100 which rattles like a marimba!
Thanks for the quick overview, Doug. I am glad to hear you are on the mend.
Thank you, @paulmchugh1430!
Do you have a video that demonstrates how to repair one of the older style Penbbs 489's blind cap and screw? Or send it back to the Penbbs Store? Pitch it in the bin and don't order any more Penbbs? I hope you feel better soon. Edit: Beini sent me a video and I was able to replace the cap. Had to disassemble the pen, clean, dry, and re ink. It's writing well. Hopefully, no more issues. I'm not a fan of this filling system.
Hi Teresa. If you have a long, thin, screwdriver (I think it is a Phillips), you can insert it down the inside of the sleeve and tighten it to the blind cap.
@@InkquiringMinds thank you. I have those different sized eyeglass tools; for tightening the tiny screws in my glasses. I always knew those would come in handy
Your boundless creativity is admirable.
Thank you for the video! They are always an inspiration.
Ivermectin prophylaxis is a thing. Hup ho!
Oh thank you!
😇🩷🙏🙌
Im now thinking about jinhao x159, the dadao serier dont catch my eyes, also question about the leonardo, does your wheels on clios spin? Mine doesnt spin really, at this aspect asvine wins, it seems that leonardo gold plates those while the wheel is on the clip, which stops the thing from rolling and also there are visible marks where the wheel was sitting while plating, I dont know why they decided to do it this way
I don't have an issue with any of my 9 Leonardo clips.
