Further context for the Resident Evil 4 Remake ads: they're parodying the World Masterpiece Theatre, a series of animated productions airing on Fuji TV on Sunday nights, each an adaptation of classic children's literature such as Anne of Green Gables or The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, continuously from 1969 to 1997, briefly revived between 2007 and 2009. @@sanguillotine It relates to Rui Hachimura being drafted by the Washington Wizards of the NBA back then. He's basically Japan's biggest sensation for modern-day basketball players of their own. Yes, Vinny. It is still art if it's made to sell a product. It might not be the best or profound, but it's still art. Hopefully those animators got to work on something cooler than a cereal commercial. Also 16:58 looks like Lemongrab and it's haunting.

I fell asleep during the middle of this because it was late. Forgive me, Binyot. Also that Freak Phone but had me in tears. Hardest I've laughed since Mario 85.
12:25 I know what Vinny is talking about. For me anyway, it was a small white ghost that made that EXACT sound and wiggled around. It had a sensor to go off when something got close.
In all fairness. I’m not defending the mobile game where you torture the guy but in the early 2000’s games like this were all over Newgrounds. These kinds of games have been around for years but what I think sets them apart is that a lot of kids weren’t fortunate enough to have a computer in the early 2000’s while almost every kid has a phone now
47:00 That is Rui Hachimura, a current NBA player who is from Japan. If you hear him talk during his time with the Washington Wizards, there is no doubt he is from Japan.
It's always a little awkward seeing anything Japanese or Anime on a Vin-stream given his proclivities and intentional lack of desire to understand any of it - but no one in the year of 20204 would ever expect to see Excel Saga of all the fucking things show up.
56:23 I am LOSING MY MIND over the music used in this commercial. I know it's like, a super common sequence of notes, but I really feel like there's a really specific thing I'm remembering it from, and I can't for the life of me bring it to the front of my mind. And no, I'm not thinking of "Kiss From a Rose"
There's a vending machine at the Rumi Life in one of the malls near where I live that plays a very similar jingle. But it also sounds like something from an anime I can't quite put my finger on. I want to say Escaflowne even though I know it's not.
@@OtakuUnitedStudio No wait, I think it may have just clicked. Again, it's incredibly common, so I've probably heard it multiple places, and there might be more accurate examples... But that last series of up and down notes sounds just like a series of notes in the Metal Gear Solid 2 intro
1:27:38 Seeing this in vinesauce stream is AMAZING. Because in france, this commercial has been the source of a massive wave of meme quoted everywhere in france.
Oh my god, I've seen an ad from the whoever made the cgi for the Halloweenie car commerical for an auto dealership around where I live. I repressed that fever dream because of the anime girl that's in it.

At ~ 12:20 Vinny is talking about what I'm pretty sure damn near every family in the 90s had. 54:59 The Resident Evil commercial reminds me of the _Adventures of Tom Sawyer_ or _Grimm's Fairy Tale_ anime and it is blursed how they nailed that vibe, but the monster designs of those villagers surprisingly fits well in that style.
HOLY SHIT.
I don’t think I've ever seen Vinny laugh as hard as he did when he saw the creep line and freak line. He even coughed too, that's how you know it got to him. When it started I wondered how it would compare to Big Milk from last time, God damn did it blow that one out of the water. Truly incredible…(the mobile games weren’t as bad though)
One day mad clown should get a ponies poin ad to remind vinny he still owes us that full playthrough.
Eh he’s laughed way harder
@47:44 Rui Hachimura is from the Toyama Prefecture of Japan, the jetpack in this part is an outline of his home prefecture en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyama_Prefecture#/media/File:Map_of_Japan_with_highlight_on_16_Toyama_prefecture.svg
Why did nutter butter hire a 10 time youtube poop veteran as their tiktok guy and then give him 50 benadryls before each work day
46:58 You know what's scary? I've watched so much live Japanese television in the past year that this no longer fazes me.
As the submitter of the ad (who found it on Reddit because sadly, it was the only place I could legit find the ad online), you're welcome, by the way.
@@ScribeScalesthanks, I don’t understand why that exists, but thanks.
@@sanguillotine It relates to Rui Hachimura being drafted by the Washington Wizards of the NBA back then. He's basically Japan's biggest sensation for modern-day basketball players of their own. In a sense, it's promoting one of their own star basketball players while also promoting Nissin ramen at the exact same time.
@@ScribeScales i didn’t realize the guy in the commercial was Japanese, I figured he was from the United States because he played for a US team.
thanks for the info and the commercial.
@@sanguillotine Understandable error in judgment due to his skin tone. However, he's half-Japanese, half-Beninese (the Beninese side being on his father's end), which explains why he's not like most other Japanese people there. Outside of that, you're welcome all the same! :D
49:20 IIRC the director of that ad (Shinya Tsukamoto) also directed Tetsuo: The Iron Man
(cool movie imo)
Yeah, that whole thing was an overt and undeniable reference to Tetsuo.
Yes, Vinny. It is still art if it's made to sell a product. It might not be the best or profound, but it's still art.
Hopefully those animators got to work on something cooler than a cereal commercial.
Also 16:58 looks like Lemongrab and it's haunting.
8:20 I've never had SunnyD before, but what do you mean this orange juice is only 5% juice???
the milk car thing at 1:11:43 made me physically recoil and feel uncomfortable. Like, I don't drive or own a car, but even still, it was like empathic pain for whoever had to deal with the aftermath.
47:00 This commercial stars half-japanese half Beninese NBA superstar Rui Hachimura. Guy approached Nissin and said "I want you to make a product for me". The Cup noodle is name Himi Curry because Himi was the town in Toyama where he was born
Got a translation of what was sung/said, then? I know the commercial was made after he was drafted by the Washington Wizards myself.
1:39:57 This is just that store in Lucky Star where the employees are in a different artstyle
48:30 “do you recognize this wubbabubbally? Whyovith, and fkightabovitchve yonedcjhababevbic baychin”
Vinny was a broken man after the freak phone incident
In all fairness. I’m not defending the mobile game where you torture the guy but in the early 2000’s games like this were all over Newgrounds. These kinds of games have been around for years but what I think sets them apart is that a lot of kids weren’t fortunate enough to have a computer in the early 2000’s while almost every kid has a phone now
I mean yeah heck the whole “whack your boss “ game series is a prime example of that weird morbid fascinacion we used to have
In defense of those games, I am a diagnosed sociopath and played all of them.
1 freak 2 freak 3 freak 4, now the freak is at your door
That ad with the floating heads was taken down after a bunch of people called the station and complained lol
HAWT MEELF
47:00 That is Rui Hachimura, a current NBA player who is from Japan.
If you hear him talk during his time with the Washington Wizards, there is no doubt he is from Japan.
In fact, the commercial came out while he was drafted/playing for the Washington Wizards.
Those Nutter Butter videos were legitimately psychopathic.
They actually reminded me of surreal memes from ~2015, 2016? They’re late to the trend, but…
"TUCKER ARE YOU FUCKING INSANE!?" might be an all-time line, and I've been watching this shit for like a decade lmao
You're forgetting about the line before that, though. "Mom, I'm on the phone. I'm calling creeps!"
*I'm on the phone with creeps!
analog horror be like: 25:53
Still better than the Mandela Catalogue
It's always a little awkward seeing anything Japanese or Anime on a Vin-stream given his proclivities and intentional lack of desire to understand any of it - but no one in the year of 20204 would ever expect to see Excel Saga of all the fucking things show up.
also wasnt expecting the timely reference to Uzumaki's drop in quality
that shit jumpscared me honestly
I thought Excel Saga was peak as a kid. Amazed to find out I couldn’t stand it as an adult lol.
@@HyperLazyFox OH HECK
I'm starting to think it may be a musical cliche of some type, maybe one particularly popular in Japan for whatever reason.
1:27:38
Seeing this in vinesauce stream is AMAZING.
"Whats the magic word? 'Hot Men' "
1:48:10 vinny sounded genuinely distraught at the ad like he was crying in his hands. I wouldn’t blame him
1:42:19 for the mobile segment
I know that's what you are here for
Or, if you are a coward, where to skip forward from.
hawk tuah
@@blueface717 Lucky Hawk
I can honestly say I never expected Excel Saga or a second Bruno Sammartino appearance on Commercial Chaos
1:42:15
I was not expecting to see a Cat Planet Cuties poster in the background. That anime did something to me as a teenager for better or worse
Probably both, puberty messed me up so much when I saw the main catgirl (Eris) on screen. My taste in women has not been the same ever since I discovered that anime nearly a decade ago now
Happy Halloween Vinesauce Vinny!!!
lmao love the mobile commercial where the chef cuts off his finger by accident, thinks for a second, and decides to just cut off the rest as well
At ~ 12:20 Vinny is talking about what I'm pretty sure damn near every family in the 90s had.
The little sound activated dudes on strings that would shake, usually ghosts that put out a high pitched "oOOooOOooOOOOoo"
I have serious nostalgia for them.
You can just google "Vintage shaking ghost" and find it instantly.
He still laughs every time he reads Peaceful Autistic, you love to see it
11:42 the laugh that plays in the back I'm pretty sure is the same exact laugh that was used for the "evil stick" thing which terrified me as a kid
One of the ads I submitted made it to Commercial Chaos. I can finally die a happy man.
Congratulations, my man! :D
Who up freakin' they phone?
9/10 Commercial Chaos, came for Freddie Freaker but got the best Freak Phone commercial instead. Still upset that Freddie Freaker wasn't there though
I never much cared for Halloween as a kid in the Eighties and Nineties, but at 43 I'm definitely digging this great spooky ride to Nostalgia Town! Thank you Vinny, Mad Clown, and others for another great Commercial Chaos!
1:47:50 this WAS kindof a thing that people tried to do at one point, and no it does not work very well. There was the idea that you could get a picture of where your insulin levels were at by reading the bloods blackbody emission. If i remember correctly, insulin and glucose have a similar if not the same peak wavelength, making this not a handy method of reading insulin.
It's a basically useless method without better equipment.
As someone named Aidan, that Nutter Butter segment was weird as hell lol
As another person named Aidan, i agree. That was some weird shit
Fun, joyous, brings smiles to everybody: Freddy Freaker
Evil, callous, gets Tucker grounded again: Whatever the fuck the rest of the freak phone freaks are
And Creep Phone creeps also. Don't forget about them!
Dearest Melpert, I am somewhat disappointed by this Chaos, as Halloween is my highest holy holidays. Clowns are not Halloween, sorry Mad Clown... I know the movie IT, but one movie a genre does not make Melpert... Just butthurt my commercials that I submitted some time ago where not included. Truly yours, Clown Schlorper
17:09 I remember this one! It was on British TV around 1987. And it's so perfect the way it goes into the CREEP PHONE afterwards.
40:03 That is a textbook Captain Lou promo, say the same thing in different ways and follow up with "I'm Captain Lou.", repeat for promos alloted time.
Love Captain Lou.
Excel Saga is my Jam. Love the last episode for...reasons
Explain.
