As someone who grew up watching Ruth Warrick have a field day as matriarch Phoebe on "All My Children," I am amazed at how brilliant and restrained Ruth was as Hannah Cord. What a complicated character, and Warrick plays her beautifully.
As Allison likes to write, and she's been wanting to leave Peyton Place now for a long time, perhaps she should go off to a writer's colony somewhere, honing her skills, expressing both her deepest feelings and subconscious fears, meeting other fellow-writers, and maybe even finding a new, and far more satisfying, relationship with someone.
Ryan O'Neal and Warren Beatty were the two actors from the 1960s through the 1980s who seemed to have bedded every actress, starlet, and non-actress in Hollywood. They were walking carriers of STIs. The years have taken their toll on both. Both men are shot physically and have been for years.
That is the happiest and most alive Alison has been since the accident. She and Rodney are not a good match. And his attraction to Sandy is further proof of that. Alison will never stir him the same way someone like Betty does and now Sandy.
I feel sorry for Sandy. She is stuck in a dangerous marriage with a man who she is afraid could and does commit physical violence. She is afraid that Lee might hurt Ann, and yet she flirts with Rod, which could cause her to become a victim of Lee's temper. I would think Sandy wouldn't flirt and practically throw herself at Rod to keep herself safe, but I guess low self esteem and loneliness and sexual desire can make one throw caution to the wind.
Rodney only did that to call Sandy's bluff about being afraid. But, they both got a surprise. Hannah just a little too Nora Desmond here. Who wouldn't notice that reaction?
That kiss, that sudden, full-on kiss shows the power of the physical attributes and verbal and visual seductiveness of a woman like Sandy who can bring a man to "the point of no return." I mean, when she brings up his killing Joe Chernak, a most delicate, painful subject, if it was said by Lee he'd surely haul off and slug the man. But Sandy has what it takes, in many respects, to get Rodney to finally give in to his primal urges.
Then we'd lose the character of Lee Webber 'cause what kind of woman would marry a no-good-account like him -- except one with the traits, problems, morals, and history like Sandy?
Oh what a dance was that a little dance what did Stephen say vulgar some people like vulgarity my father instructed my earthly father by the way instructed me and my sister that they were certain ways we were not allowed to move on the dance floor and even how to let a boy hold you how close he could hold you and never to do the dance called the dog publicly yes my dad so Sandy is possibly getting what she wants and Rod is getting the fulfillment of what he saw

Betty is so good with Mr. Peyton

That little statue Mr. Peyton gave Betty looks just like the one he told Hannah to get rid of when he took over the house from David Schuster.
I think Chris and Allison would make a good match.
Maybe, if they had met somewhere other than Peyton Place. Too much happens to both of them in that town, causing each of them to go a little mad.
At first, they seemed to truly care for each other...and Chris was really in love with Allison.:-)
Chris Webber is so handsome, he looks like a combination of a young Ryan Gosling and Ed Norton .
I see Jimmy Stewart. I do see what you see.
I can't believe that Elliot has nothing better to do in life but sit in the bar and gloss over his pamphlet about a sailboat
Sandy is a tease. She has no self respect. With a husband like LEE she should know better.
A lot of men want only what they can't have.
Rodny is crazy, he does not like or love anyone but himself, types like him bring only stress, unhappiness and disaster in others lives

I liked Rodney for a while...but the more I saw-and the more I read about Ryan O'Neal's private life-I liked him less and less.
That is the happiest and most alive Alison has been since the accident. She and Rodney are not a good match. And his attraction to Sandy is further proof of that. Alison will never stir him the same way someone like Betty does and now Sandy.

She's a hoe...good grief..hecwas right cheap...

Sandy is horrible.
Sandy is so desperate for attention
It's embaressing to listen to Sandy.
It is.
Couldn't the writers have Rodney act a little better?

Lana and Natalie sounded so much alike.
I can’t get past those big fangy vampire-like teeth of Lana’s.
Agree! She reminds me of a vampire in one of those corny Hammer productions.
Poor Allison, now having to resort to a blind man
That is a horrid remark!
They look good together even their fingers look alike.
I heard the term brailleing(slan?), in which a blind person feels the face to get an idea how a lady looks then let's his hands wanders to her bosom.
Are You Happy is the name of a Jerry Butler song.
Couldn't the writers have created a more solid character than Sandy? Insulting to women viewers.
How is she insulting to all women?
Then we'd lose the character of Lee Webber 'cause what kind of woman would marry a no-good-account like him -- except one with the traits, problems, morals, and history like Sandy?
Go home Sandy! You are so cheap Sandy! She is as annoying as Stella! Ignorant and self indulgent. Come into my parlor said the spider to the fly.
Natalie Wood was the more famous sister but I think Lana Wood was a better actress than Natalie!
I think Allison should have objected to his dirty hands all over her nose and mouth. Har har!
YUCK!! I agree!
