This is the most laid back interview of Yuqi and Minnie. Thank you Eric for making them so comfortable to the point that they didn't want to leave. Hoping for another episode like this in the future!
Yuqi's english is insane. Combined with her already deep voice, it just goes EVEN deeper. Not to mention the fluency--she's not afraid to touch upon some deeper topics. And she normally doesn't do the english speaking for the group, so to hear her do so for 30+ minutes is really nice. Minnie, normally the designated English speaker--super nice to hear her speak outside of the normal idol prepped speeches. Demonstrates her fluency, but also goes into her more normal, daily thoughts.
I love hearing Yuqi speak English. Also, Minnie is so funny! Eric: I guess compared to new rookies you're older than them. Minnie: *whispering* We're like 10 years older than them.
'So how about we tell ChatGPT to write GIDLE lyrics'.. Don't let Soyeon see that XDD Yuqi confidence is inspiring ,like, regardless if she made mistakes or not, she talked so seemlessly, confident, just like that, wow. Also, i can't with the 'Bumblebee is her boyfriend ' XDD Yea, she really likes Transformers ;D
God I was sooo impressed by YUQI's confidence about having great English. "Just by studying, me and Minnie never been abroad. never attend to any international school. But we're doing good job".
Yeah right? I also admire her attitude and her way of thinking. She’s super positive and confident in whatever she does. She never shied away from learning new things, especially things like languages where you shouldn’t be afraid to speak because that’s how you improve the most. That’s some real healthy mindset right there.
@@Mycatstory832 yes you are right. English is not my language at all and I still learn and improve it everyday. And randomly watching this video of Yuqi and Minnie inspired me a lot. this was so fun!!!!! us international fans wanna avoid asking idols to speak in english because we dont wanna make them uncomfortable but watching them without needing subtitles is so refreshing. i hope the rest of the group could come some time too!!! eric gives the most interesting questions that bring out the member's personality more.

I don't mind reading subtitles but sometimes it can be draining. Just chilling on the couch and listening while being able to do other stuff is really a luxury. 😂 Thank you Eric! Thank you Dive! ❤
Even though minnie sounds cleaner when she speaks English, she speaks carefully like she’s thinking it through in her head, but she never says anything wrong. Yuqi still has a bit of Chinese accent, and sometimes something comes out a bit wrong but she never says the wrong thing and it sounds so natural

Their English is crazy good. A lot better than most, if not all, of the idols who have no prior time abroad in English-speaking countries. They have no problem understanding the questions and replying with relevant answers. Even groups like Itzy and Blackpink have fluent or native members to help with immersion. I'm honestly floored by their comprehension and ease. Apparently English really is about confidence lol.
I am impressed too, not being in an English speaking school/ collage, not living abroad but still learning English so quickly and being able to speak so well in casual conversation is incredibly impressive. It is probably a bit easier that they both began learning English at the same time and can practice with each other.
This is easily the best interview I've seen with Minnie and Yuqi. So laid back, relaxed and just felt really good and was an enjoyable time. I really hope you get them back again!
This might sound rare but I’ve been following I-DLE since debut and this is the first time I see Yuqi as a person. In general I feel idols as alternative persons who are not in touch with real life, like they live on a bubble apart from world. But idk if its how the “interview’s” format or hearing Yuqi talking in English so I understand her, but feels like she’s really a normal girl. It is probably bc this is not like these korean stereotyped shows that make them do silly things and stupid games to please korean public, and with this format I see Yuqi as how she really is.
Thank you for loving Yuqi and understanding her. Did you know that a foreign idol who debuted in Korea is often despised by K-netizens, especially the China-line. As recently, the China and Taiwan issue has nothing to do with K-netizens, they still try to make it difficult for Yuqi. If you watch this video at 8:18, you will hear Yuqi saying Taiwan, Hong Kong and the problem "from China" behind is added by the repertoire. ua-cam.com/video/GuyN2OFkx2c/v-deo.html
@@yellowflowerslove What are you talking about? They actually love her. Lol. I understand Korean and whenever I come across Korean comments, they're always gushing about her (and I watch pretty much every video I can find on them on YT and always check the comments). They're just generally sensitive to China for multiple political and cultural reasons so things are tense whenever these issues are brought up but they don't hate her as a person.
@@h.i.m.3200 I hope this comment isn't too long but I just wanna summarize, as neutral as possible, why this issue was suddenly brought up. The gist of it was basically Yuqi being asked to say something to the Chinese fans and she mentioned Taiwan and Hong Kong in her answer. Many Taiwanese fans were disappointed because the underlying, subconscious idea behind her answer was that "Taiwan belongs to China", despite not adding China to her answer as what the subtitles suggested, and it contradicts to the identity of many Taiwanese. They believed it was especially concerning when Shuhua, a Taiwanese, was in the same group and Shuhua has been trying hard to avoid sensitive topics or even the name "Taiwan" regarding her own identity while Yuqi could openly speak about it, seemingly by some, without regards to the position Shuhua and the Taiwanese fans are in. I won't comment further on the conflicts caused by these ideological differences, nor whether political issues/identity should be prioritised or brought to attention as kpop fans. But the things many Taiwanese fans wanted Yuqi to be more careful of was spreaded to the Knetz in general (I say this because apparently netizens and fandoms are not entirely equivalent) and become open to their interpretation especially when mixed with their own feelings towards China, and I suppose this part is where Yuqi suffered from lots of acerbic comments. I'd say this is an incident sparked by political feelings people from different countries have towards each other, but indeed Yuqi has been praised and adored by many Korean fans along these years and I enjoyed reading those Korean comments too.

Eric is lucky that Shuhua didn’t go instead of Minnie 😭😂 he’d have a mental breakdown by the cat fight between ShuQi lmao 🤣
Love seeing our girls talk about their lives comfortably and have fun🥹🫶🏽
@@Gh-wi2lk they've speak in Korean on this show so I don't see that as a problem
I've seen them live last year in Frankfurt, Germany for the first time. I remember being impressed by the power their performances had and the unique singing and rapping styles by each member. I didn"t know anything about them except their songs Lost and Dahlia and now, one year later they are my number one female K-Pop group alongside with another musical powerhouse called Mamamoo. I wish the very best to (G)-Idle and hope they'll continue to make awesome music for a very long time.
My favorite duo 😍 this is my first time hearing yuqi speak fluent english in a conversation love her accent 😊😊😊
Yuqi from makeup to outfits is simple but very chic and temperamental, and the plus point of her beauty is confidence.
Yuqi is my favorite singer and so lovely ❤
These girls are so real. Through the years they’ve been so consistent, it’s so inspiring. Keep going ladies!

Comeback, collabs, YUQI acting in KDrama Celeb, English track, concert. So much happened for G-IDLE this year. Fighting girls❤❤❤
Yuqi encouraging Minnie to be honest, them wanting to stay and sharing personal info openly really shows how comfortable the environment can be in a workplace if it's created and managed by talent. Thank you Eric for helping to create this wonderful wonderful platform and fostering an incredibly supportive audience. Much love
THEY'RE THE BEST GIRL GROUP SO UNIQUE
All K-pops need to learn English because it’s a major language now so that all of us can speak and understand each other very well.

Their confidence and ease are so inspiring and addictive, plus they’re hilarious, highly dynamic and soooo cool, they make me want to know them in person. Everything they do and say easily catch your attention. Besides, I’m amazed by how well Minnie and Yuqi both speak English 👏
