- One of the defining traits of players on the top of CSGO is the ability, and willingness, to do whatever it takes to win. But sometimes that takes a different form than you’d expect. And for Oleksandr Kostyliev, better known as s1mple, that’s involved a journey to conquer internal demons as much as external. The Ukrainian AWPer has never lacked for talent or work ethic, but his own anger acted as a ceiling on his early career.
Now regarded by many as the best player to ever touch CSGO, despite never winning an elusive Major, s1mple's development from toxic youngster to model teammate is almost as impressive as his ability to rack up frags. LOTS of frags.

I guess you never have played in a competitive match, toxic team mates can do you more harm than good. Imagine you are playing in a clutch game and hearing his toxic comments in a background, it will make you vomit, team moral will be in a all time low and you just want to finish the game just to be done with it.

@@blessingseverywhere3140 it’s not hiding, it’s controlling yourself, which is a big change. Say I have anger problems, and by not allowing the anger to consume you takes some serious mental improvement. He’s not even hiding it, he’s channeling the anger to become productive.

The move to NA was more important that was discussed in the video. S1mple was playing terribly against HellRaisers in the MLG Columbus Quals in 2016 with TL and it was the first time in his career that he wasn't doing the carrying, his team carried him. I'm sure that's what kickstarted his maturity journey, as he realised and experienced that even someone like him, who has such an insane work ethic, can play badly in a match once in a blue moon, that that's what your team is here for, to support each other and win. Hiko was a huge mentor for him, as back in 2016, Hiko would often pull off some of the most clutch plays (1v4'd luminosity on cache). S1mple was able to trust him, just like Hiko supported s1mple as well. S1mple mentioned that Hiko is one of his best teammates of his career, and for good reason.

because S1mple is the most consistent of the bunch, even if Navi is losing the match he would still be the highest fragger in the server. Plus, cold and get_right in their prime wouldn't be able to beat S1mple in a 1v1.
Most likely this year is going to be S1mple's 2nd, unless Zywoo pulls something crazy like 2.0 ratings in upcoming tourneys.
