During last dxp its easy I went from 83 smithing to 99 in no time. Well within the 36 hours we had. Just mine your own stuff and do burial. After it you can think about making money with it. I just wanted mining and smithing maxed so if I lvl combat I could easily craft my own gear. So I'm not even sad when I lose my gear. Tommorow I can finally finish mining, its pretty good with all current boosts. Next goal is 99 crafting for ranged armor and 99 fletching for making my own ammo.
@Christian Cox why would you need the coal bag unless cleaning out the paydirt bag ? It will not save much time and having a hammer in your invo saves a lil bit of time and lets yah get 4 invos instead of 3 ....

Motherlode. That's it. That's how I did it :) learned the sounds, kept one earbud on RS and the other on whatever else. Not efficient at all, bit only took a month of consistent mining. Made about 45m on ores. But this was 2014 lol
This is a message everyone might want to read before grinding 99 mining at mlm. I love to see someone put this much effort into making a nice looking mlm guide. However I don't agree with some things you say. I wonder why you say you need 13.016.157 xp from 1-99 instead of 13.034.431 (or 13.015.406 if you take away the xp from the 3 quests you mentioned). Getting the bigger sack upgrade is not the thing you want to buy first, if even ever at all, go for the suit then the upper level then the gembag. Coalbag and sackupgrade are pretty useless at mlm (coalbag is very useful for smithing). And I would have loved it if you would have added tricks to make it more afk, faster or more enjoyable, like how you can use bankfillers to make banking faster, without banking the items that you keep in your inventory to fill the sack with 4 inventories instead of 3. How changing sound settings can help you hear when a vein depletes. (And how you can mute all other players and the miner NPC ticking sounds using runelites 'music' plugin. How changing the brightness setting to the lowest can make the mine look more like a real mine (personal opinion). How you should watch for the first xp drop from upper level before going afk so you know it's a full vein and not one that has been activated before (or a recent 'ghost'-vein, a bug which makes a vein spawn a little bit of time ahead of normal respawn time and has only 1 pay-dirt in it) You also didn't mention the agility shortcut for lower level or how you can worldhop for faster xp if you don't have the shortcut. You also didn't mention that completing the Falador elite diaries rewards you with a slightly higher chance of higher tier ores in mlm. Still a good video to get ppl started, very clear and nice animations, thank you for putting in the effort! I hope it reaches a lot of ppl who will join me in mlm and I hope they all hit like and subscribe for you!

Not that it matters much but if you want to really crack the numbers then calculating the quest xp puts you at 13.015.406 xp, while just starting at 33 to 99 would be 13.016.184 (very close but not the number mentioned) but idc much about the small difference on this number, it just looks weird when it shows total xp needed and 1-99 without saying 13.034.431 xp (might just be me). What's more weird it how he says that it's "exactly 212.006 pay-dirt mined" while you can't calculate it exactly because of the rng on ores (cleaning ores gives xp for gold and up) but I didn't put it in my initial comment because who cares? no-one is going to count his total amount of pay-dirt mined from 33-99, if you do so, you are mental.

I freshly started osrs as a legit noob, and I'll have to say this is super helpful! Im trying to max out fast :( all my rl friends are above level 70 and keep rushing me to max out
Since none of the Varock Diary Tasks require a mining of above 15, it is possible for max level accounts with low mining to achieve the Varock elite diary before they unlock the full prospectors set. It's important to notice that Varock armor 4 (elite) acts as a prospectors chest (meaning you don't have to waste golden nuggets on it). Not many people will need or care about this since I imagine it's quite niche, but just in case I thought I'd let the people know.
Man, I just did gem mining post 80. It's 50-55k xp/hr with almost zero competition, and it makes like 3x the gp/hr of MLM. It also has low requirements, just Karamja hard diaries. Motherlode is super packed these days and it's pretty much a waste of time unless you need the rewards or if youre playing another account while you MLM. Also, never ever mine with a rune pickaxe if you can use dragon (IM not withstanding).
volcanic mine is a great alternative to these, it's still really chill with good xp rates, can get 80+k xp an hour at lvl 85 mining. even at like lvl 70 it's like 70k xp an hour so much better than mlm.
For anyone who is planning on using the crystal pickaxe and cares a little more about GP rather than XP then your best bet is amethyst or rune ore. I might be completely wrong but compared to a dragon pickaxe I figured if 3% of the price of the resource you gather is greater than the cost of a single charge (60gp) then it's worth it GP/h wise to use the crystal pickaxe, otherwise the dragon pickaxe would be better.
I would agree with you if you want simple afk gp, but in the long run it's better to use the crystal pickaxe, and use the extra time you saved at zulrah/vorkath.
It's just crazy how long a lot of these skills take to get 99. The fastest method would be about 5.3 hours per week for a year. That's not crazy on its own but considering that's one skill, not to mention the time for the others.
You should have mentioned Volcanic Mine. The experience from the mine is significantly larger than MLM and one of the best methods for mining exp. When you have learnt the ropes, then you have some semi large afk periods. To get into it, you have to join the Discord Channel.
When I set out for 99 mining I started with power mining iron untill 42, then went to mlm untill I hit 75. I went straight to blast mine and did that up untill 82. From there I did a mix of mlm and blast mining with occasional iron ore breaks in the guild untill I got to 94 and it was amethyst from there on :) I got my last 7 xp on tin in lumby swamp with my friends!
I haven't seen this tip at all on any of these motherload mines guides. When you are by the water you could click on the crate just to the north of the path. I never really see anyone going to it either. Unlimited hammers. Just dump after fixing both wheels for extra xp. Never need to waste a space in inventory for a hammer. Not even theoatrix mentioned this.
I know this is WAY after the video release, but, I advise getting the Expert Mining Gloves. Also, have that Gem Bag with you if you are mining, especially the Gem Mine.

I do motherload mine with a coal bag and hammer in my inv at all times. If you load the un-upgraded bag to a max of 80 ore you can put 4 inv instead of 3, so if I deposited 26 ore per inv I can always do 4 inv instead of 3/having to undermine some inv. Then the coal bag lets you do one less bank trip (3 instead of 4) with the overfilled un-upgraded hopper Edit: I also don’t fix the wheels unless I have to on a banking inv. Makes for easy afk cause it’s there if you actually do need it
I do not understand the buy order at all. The coal bag makes it so that when I bank, it takes far less runs. The gem bag means that my inventory does not fill up with gems as I mine, meaning less traveling. at the very least the coal bag seems way better than the sack, and is useful outside of the mine. The gem bag seems about as useful as the sack and is also very useful outside the mine.
I just finished my 92-99, I got 26438 amethysts in total, never sold one from 92-99, also I collected every gem I got from 92, 2295 sapphire, 1115 emeralds, 728 ruby 165 diamond, also also once I got every piece of gear I started just hoarding my minerals, a total of 1018 after all gear upgrades, I am unsure whats best to spend the minerals on now to for max cash. 85m cash before mineral spend.

The profit from motherlode straight up is one thing, but if you keep all the ore for the blast furnace, you're both doubling or tripling your profit and probably getting 80-85 smithing at the same time.

Highly recommend this, you can mix this with motherload at 75. Its really not that bad once you get a hang of it, sure its not AFK but it doesnt require fulll attention.
@@CloudCollapse , for ironmen, it would be a little more difficult, due to the fact that blast mining requires dynamite, that you would have to create.
Blast mining isnt semi afk if you're doing it correctly rotating stamina or energy potions exploding 2-3 dynamites at time etc. I got my mining pet there in my mid 80s so I speak from experience.
@@keegan8517 if your using stamina/energy pots for blast mining, then your rotations are not correct, you can reach max efficiency without the use of them, i went from 75 to 99 there. so i can speak from experience. lol
This skill used to be so boring for me, always felt like there wasn't a lot of money to be made through it compared with other skills. Though more modern Runescape seems to be hugely about PVM for making reliable money.
Keeping the hammer means you deposit 27 paydirt per deposit. With the way the bag works, you get 4 deposits instead of only 3. This means you save a a run from where you deposit to the bag every 3 banking trips. Short term it doesn't mean much, but when grinding to 99 it saves a considerable amount of time.
I never understand why youtubers read the lists out loud. That list that you brought up with the quests that give mining exp and how much... We can read. Dont need to sit there for 2 minutes listening to you read numbers off that are right in front of us
How does everyone never leave when they are mining? Don't they need to deposit their ore? I'm new, I don't get it. I'm the only one who ever leaves when mining.
You place your ore into the machine to have it cleaned. Once your sack is full, Bank the ore there. You don’t have to leave to bank. There’s a bank deposit booth and bank chest near the ore sack.
Those veins are on a timer that sets when the first person starts mining. It will "deplete" at the same time regardless of whether one or ten people were mining it. It "depletes" when time runs out by becoming inactive after one more ore is removed which makes sense as the vein shouldn't just deplete if no one is mining it. If two people in a say 5 ore region mine the same veins, the likelihood that there will be fresh veins is higher than if those two run the timers on two veins at the same time.
My advice, you can devide the upper stage up in 3 parts, the left, the middle and the right. As long as you are in either part (I dislike the middle) with no more than 2 players, including yourself, then just mine different veins to get best xp rates, you should never run out of veins (unless the ghost vein bug is acting up). The moment you are in 1 part with 3 or more players, start mining the same vein so everyone gets good xp rates without ever running out of veins. It's not the best xp but it's worth it compared to running out of veins.
I don’t make guides just to be like “hey do this here and that there and you’re done.” I make them to be as informative as possible as well as entertaining. However long they are is how long it takes me to convey the information I think is necessary.

An overfilled sack of 108 pay-dirt has a 94.97% probability to contain at least one golden nugget.

@@CloudCollapse , for ironmen, it would be a little more difficult, due to the fact that blast mining requires dynamite, that you would have to create.
Blast mining isnt semi afk if you're doing it correctly rotating stamina or energy potions exploding 2-3 dynamites at time etc. I got my mining pet there in my mid 80s so I speak from experience.
@@keegan8517 if your using stamina/energy pots for blast mining, then your rotations are not correct, you can reach max efficiency without the use of them, i went from 75 to 99 there. so i can speak from experience. lol

This skill used to be so boring for me, always felt like there wasn't a lot of money to be made through it compared with other skills. Though more modern Runescape seems to be hugely about PVM for making reliable money.

Why do you keep a hammer in your inventory? There is a hammer in the crate right next to where you drop the pay dirt
Because overall it saves time. Holding any item will help, but a hammer is most convenient in case you need to repair the wheels.
So are there Mining levels in the Motherload mine that increase ur chances of getting specific ores?
Not necessarily. The higher your mining level, the better chances you have of getting the higher level ores.
So what Mining lvl should I have to have a better change of getting more Adamant?

There's a crate with a hammer in it next to the loader
Keeping the hammer means you deposit 27 paydirt per deposit. With the way the bag works, you get 4 deposits instead of only 3. This means you save a a run from where you deposit to the bag every 3 banking trips. Short term it doesn't mean much, but when grinding to 99 it saves a considerable amount of time.

At level 59, using a rune pickaxe and the northern area to mine I was able to get 29k xp per hour.

I never understand why youtubers read the lists out loud. That list that you brought up with the quests that give mining exp and how much... We can read. Dont need to sit there for 2 minutes listening to you read numbers off that are right in front of us

How does everyone never leave when they are mining? Don't they need to deposit their ore? I'm new, I don't get it. I'm the only one who ever leaves when mining.
You place your ore into the machine to have it cleaned. Once your sack is full, Bank the ore there. You don’t have to leave to bank. There’s a bank deposit booth and bank chest near the ore sack.
Can someone please explain how it's more beneficial to both mine the same ore vein on the top floor of MM?

Those veins are on a timer that sets when the first person starts mining. It will "deplete" at the same time regardless of whether one or ten people were mining it. It "depletes" when time runs out by becoming inactive after one more ore is removed which makes sense as the vein shouldn't just deplete if no one is mining it. If two people in a say 5 ore region mine the same veins, the likelihood that there will be fresh veins is higher than if those two run the timers on two veins at the same time.
My advice, you can devide the upper stage up in 3 parts, the left, the middle and the right. As long as you are in either part (I dislike the middle) with no more than 2 players, including yourself, then just mine different veins to get best xp rates, you should never run out of veins (unless the ghost vein bug is acting up).
The moment you are in 1 part with 3 or more players, start mining the same vein so everyone gets good xp rates without ever running out of veins. It's not the best xp but it's worth it compared to running out of veins.

I don’t make guides just to be like “hey do this here and that there and you’re done.” I make them to be as informative as possible as well as entertaining. However long they are is how long it takes me to convey the information I think is necessary.

Good guide, but the xp rates are basically tick perfect rates. The "lazy player" along with 99% of other players can expect a decent bit less.
