new york city has finally sprung and nothing beats sunny days in the city! some busy work days, being productive, getting in my runs in the evening with yon while listening to my body, plus going to some fun work events 😊
🏃🏻♀️🏅I am running the RBC Brooklyn Half Marathon with Team for Kids ✨ - such an important cause for me helping kids of all ages and abilities to build confidence, gain motivation, and develop healthy attitudes toward physical activity that last for life!

You get to run, these legs are powerful and take you from and to events. Your legs carry you quite literally through life. Try to catch yourself and call yourself out on these little insecurities and be compassionate with yourself 🫶🏻

I feel your struggle with wearing shorts! As someone who gains weight in their thighs first, it is a body part that got way bigger than anticipated as soon as I started properly weight training and running. I even have different kinds of biker shorts now, shorter ones for the gym because they move up anyway and longer ones for running in summer because shorts are never an option. They do make specific running shorts with two layers; one that is tight on your legs and a second that is like normal shorts, I do not like how they look on me but I have seen so many girls with bigger thighs that look amazing in them.

I have the thighgate issue lol mostly from weight loss and loose skin now but I recommend zeasorb anti fungal powder for the chaffe girls. It saved me here in our Florida summers 😀

I'm with you Alia, I'm also insecure about my legs and I told myself this year I will be brave and just wear them, jeans in summer is not fun lol
I also struggle with knee pain while doing sports and when I tell people I always feel like a grandma and most of the times they also look at me like I am😂 Sorry for you to have to experience that but also kinda good to hear I'm not the only young person struggling with that (but hope your knee's better soon of course🫶)

Yes, take care of those knees! PT is the best! From a 57 yr old who has tried to “power through” pain and now is dealing with arthritis and meniscus issues, your bod will thank you in your later years. 😊🩷 Good luck with the training!
Can you show us what the physical therapist showed you for your knee pain? I have been running as well and my knee has been hurting like crazy so I haven't been running lately. Like you, I miss running to! Wishing you well on your running journey and hope we can both get better soon!

I was uncomfortable wearing shorts when I was in middle school and high school. When I was 22 I was like fuck it I just look at my leg in the mirrors I never knew my leg was beautiful 😂.
