I think that since both kel's resurrection and rag's fire ball both happen at 'the end of turn' the game treats them as if they occure simultaneously. so rag kills him while kel is resurrecting and so kel comes back. but honestly that might be a bug
+Justin Rideout (Just In The Gym) it was a bug from when kel'thuzad was added to the game way back when, and one of the few interactions that were not intended, it has long since been patched that if kel'thuzad is killed by an "end of turn" ability he cannot resurrect himself as part of that condition anymore.

I can't understand how people are so bad at playing around Kel'thuzad. If a minion dies and Kel'thuzad doesn't, that minion comes back at the end of the turn. Why is this so hard for people to get???
***** For one, the guy at 5:25 when he sacks in his ironbark. Yeah he gets his ironbark but his opponent gets 3 Kel'thuzads. Terrible trade. The guy at 9:30 gave his opponent 2 northshire clerics. His opponent also have him loads of stuff the next turn.
+caos1925 He's really a nice card to have if you're already winning. He's useless on an empty board as he'll be killed ASAP by anyone with any sense. So he's so situational that he doesn't really have a place in many decks. Great fun when you do get him for some reason, but he's rarely going to turn a game around for you.

he is mostly used in deathrattle shaman, which is actually quite solid if you build it to be more minion heavy rather than combo heavy
