Just got verified on Snap recently- with their monetization system not being public knowledge and growth not always being straightforward, hearing from the founder was a huge relief. Thanks, Colin and Samir! (:
The volume is loud. THANK YOU SO MUCH! I’ve noticed tons of yt videos are just too quiet, as their base volume and I have to blast my speakers / headphones to hear them, but not with yours. I can keep things at a normal level of volume and can hear everyone perfectly. Thank you greatly! 🙏
The Snapchat CEO is so thoughtful and well spoken - I appreciate that he has kept his engineering mind and POV without becoming a stereotypical demonized out of touch CEO archetype.
It's interesting that Evan & Bobby are the only tech-duo I can think of in the big tech space. I think that's uniquely a very positive thing. Don't think many people have thought about this
100%. I have installed and deleted the app 10+ times over the years because it is so hard to use. I cant imaging using it to stay in touch with my family, like I help the olds with their tech support more than I want to already, wtf am I supposed to do with SNAP?
I never quite understood or appreciated the positioning of and use case for Snapchat until this discussion..Great interview and wrap up discussion, as always. 👍🏾
This was yet another great interview. He seemed very down to earth despite owning such a huge social media company, and his vision and thinking seemed to be smart!
The second generation Spectacles are my favorite camera I have ever bought. I still use mine to this day. They dropped the ball hard on marketing, but they still hold up as a product. Long battery life and waterproof. Two things Meta still doesn’t offer.
Hearing him, talk about the kids running around outside with glasses on saying they won’t get off the computers. Sparks an interesting thought that kids may build augmented reality forts outside instead of pillow forts inside like we used to as kids and that seems really cool and interesting for the future.
a good idea for snap would be to enable longer form content that creators can create/edit using director and post at the end of the day, almost like a vlog
My feedback for the guy, this felt way too much like a PR interview than an authentic conversation for a podcast. Big difference and it can be felt by the audience.
The last time I was this early I was watching an MKBHD video. 😝💯 I genuinely do mean this unironically. Edit: Google Keyboard and autocorrect are not friends.
This really feels like an ad to me. He even says at 28:08 that snapchat plus subscribers get to change where the camera is, showing that it's like "yeah snapchat is cool and all but if you dont like it you can use this..."
Great video and I love the technology of Snap (and I still wonder what meta would have done with it if they were able to buy them a few years ago) plus Keep up the good work!
Great interview, guys. Snapchat is a heavily underutilized long-term play for creators looking to connect with Gen-Z and Gen-Alpha. The "memories" functionality alone will force users to open the app years from now.
the staunch decision on snapchat opening to the camera is a stubborn one, it'll probably benefit them if they can encourage more consumption by opening to a full screen stories page, which may inspire more creation - or to a maps page where the story clouds are made up of only posts from friends first, then the public. currently it's pretty jarring opening to a camera when you have no intention of creating, you just want to see what people are up to.
I always love these interviews! you guys never miss! but is AI making the thumnails? they look so weird. like mr beast type thumbnails. they don't do enough justice to the interviews. nonetheless amazing work as always! thank you guys so much for these well thought out interviews!
Snapchat will die in the next 7-10 years. I don't see any story posts on my snap feed because everyone has moved on to Instagram Stories and everyone that used Snapchat as a messaging app switched to iMessage as they grow up. Snapchat audience is like 13-25 years old now. Eventually, Snapchat will go bankrupt. You can also tell creators only post to earn money, they just post 100 times of a bag of chips just to hit the minimum number of posts for the day so they earn money. Its a flawed system.
I have maybe a silly question. Many companies are developing some sort of wearable glasses kind of thing, how does that gonna work for people that wear glasses already, which it’s probably half of the population?
This is just what I have been feeling over the last couple of months atleast especially after seeing these Meta prototype spectacles strengthened my belief that wearables is where its at. I am kinda sick of looking at my screen. I remember when I had a blackberry and that keyboard on the phone was the most revolutionary thing ever and using an older model phone with the 12 buttons would just irritate me and thats exactly how I feel about phones today and looking down at screens.
Snap has been a pain to get working for many creators I know of. Needing silly agency gatekeepers, who then ghost and leave the account without posting. Curious to watch this and see if it’s changed
the 'we are tired of technology being isolating and taking up so much time' followed by the 'lets make a permanent filter in front of our eyes' will never cease to amaze. the tech is cool - but this angle is cringe
Not really… is the shirt that Colin’s wearing an advertisement? I know it’s different, but then they, have given this same advertisement to a lot of other social media sites. Creating content is mixing enjoyment for the viewer, while making money, and in this case it’s a way of advertising Snapchat.
Every podcast episode interviewing a person is an advertisement in that person, their brand, their company, product, service, etc…. That’s why we watch it 😂 not sure if your comment was just that, a comment, or if it was some sort of slight or complaint hahaha

I never would've guessed that you were on Snapchat, lol.
@@just_mdd4Does that scare you? That Jaden was on Snap this whole time?

that's crazy!!! you guys did an episode after the palisades fire,
I really thought this was an old episode.
I'm glad you guy are still creating
The Snapchat CEO is so thoughtful and well spoken - I appreciate that he has kept his engineering mind and POV without becoming a stereotypical demonized out of touch CEO archetype.
Evan is a super well rounded founder and CEO, he is the perfect description of an early adaptor. Such an inspiration. Also, great questions from C&S.
It's interesting that Evan & Bobby are the only tech-duo I can think of in the big tech space. I think that's uniquely a very positive thing. Don't think many people have thought about this
Can’t believe you guys actually got the ceo of snap on. You guys are amazing. Love what you do
I’ve always been curious if Snapchat purposely has the worst UI in the history of social media
100%. I have installed and deleted the app 10+ times over the years because it is so hard to use. I cant imaging using it to stay in touch with my family, like I help the olds with their tech support more than I want to already, wtf am I supposed to do with SNAP?
Evan seems genuinely humble and interested in you both, what a down to earth billionaire
Agreed with this, felt like he was speaking to equals, maybe just a good dude? I don’t know much about him
You guys are collecting interviews with CEOS like their trading cards- we’ve got UA-cam, Instagram, Spotify and now Snapchat!
They are collecting the Kings of Social Media Infinity Stones like Thanos 😆
😂😂😂
Gotta Catch Em All

Great interview. I've only just started on snapchat so this came at a perfect time!
Been verified on Snapchat since 2017. Congrats on getting Evan to do a podcast appearance.
DUUUDE I was waiting for this! Now waiting for TikTok ceo!😁
very fascinated by his CEO blank stare in a lot of these moments.
I love you guys and all you do! You will overcome this challenging point in your life!
Looking forward to watching this interview 🔥🔥🔥

Although you 2 have always had great interviews, you just keep getting better. Those were some FANTASTIC questions. Well done boys, well done.
You guys should interview Burnie Burns about the history and rebirth of Rooster Teeth. Such a long and impactful content machine
Anyone remember OG spotlight back in the day? CRAZY money was made
Just watched! Great episode guys and thanks for the shoutout ❤
Didn't realise you guys were back! Hope all's well
Haven't watched this yet but this is insane. Spiegel NEVER does interviews. 🤯Stoked for this one!
Jeez guys, you said you have a backlog, i thought youd take a break and here you are doing new interviews

Incredible interview 👏

Haven’t been this early in a hot minute hope you guys have been getting along okay so sorry to hear about the fires guys😢
Love seeing you guys in your element. Welcome back
Thank you for providing this content.
I totally forgot about Snapchat, this is dope!
Would love a video with the contestant who got 7-10th in beast games who look like your twin, he was my favourite

True but any CEO is going to talk about the benefits of his platform.
Just banger after banger!
Great work, keep it up :)
Solid interview, great questions. People are saying it’s an ad. Do you think the same when he interviews Dude Perfect?
Thanks for making this interview. and Snapchat my favorite social media I’m lifestyle influencer on the app

I love how this guy is so notable that he's just the "CEO of Snapchat" in the title and thumbnail. Lol
@8:50 ‘frictionless’ - RIP Cody :(

This video looks promising! Great work
I get thousands of views on Snapchat I need to hear about this guy
Man I love these guys 😭🫶🏽
interesting interview. also, interview released one day after Snap's quarterly results😁
Pretty sure I now have multiple perspectives on the word ‘perspective’ itself. 😂

Huge!!
The description is wrong, should either be "we interviewed" or "we're interviewing"
Colin and samir is the best 🎉
0:700 things much harder to copy. like glasses... cough Loomos, meta raybans, halliday, looktech, etc cough
How are you guys getting the chance to interview these type of people?
the 'we are tired of technology being isolating and taking up so much time' followed by the 'lets make a permanent filter in front of our eyes' will never cease to amaze. the tech is cool - but this angle is cringe
It’s not the tech it’s how you design it - glasses have potential to not be isolating, but it’s up to us to design them right
20 nin in can we please speak about how they are not profitable company
Tiktok ceo next pls
Isn’t it called Snap now?
Can you ask Evan too let South African creates get Monetized on Snapchat
Interesting
In before the title changes like 100s of times.
Snapchat fell off
Snapchat is still around? Well, I guess MySpace is still around, too. 😂
