This live recording is from Wacken Open Air 2013, together with Floor Jansen [pronounced Yansen], the 3rd and present female singer of the band, in front of an 82K audience. About the instrumental and vocal added parts - it's good to know they recorded their orchestral and vocal back tracks with prestigious institutions as London Philharmonic Orchestra. London's The Metro Voices choir group and London's Young Musicians Children's Choir as their regular partners. Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the [updated] short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory): " Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer. They are from Finland. Tuomas Holopainen [pronounced Tuo-mas], the keyboard player, composes and writes the lyrics for 95% of their music. [Sami Vanska was the bassist of the band starting with their 2nd studio album, he was with them until 2001. Then Marco Hietala was bassist and vocals, since 2001 to 2020. He recently announced his retirement both from the band and the public life for the next year at least. Then in May 2021 Jukka Koskinen [pronounced Yukka] became the bassist of the band, for the Human :II: Nature tour - and recently, the band announced he became a permanent member] And there is the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen [he also recorded the bass lines for their 1st studio album]. Then there is Troy Donockley from UK who is a multi-instrumentalist and vocals. Jukka Nevalainen [pronounced Yukka] is the drummer. In 2015 due to Jukka's health issues Kai Hahto became the drummer and as of now is a permanent addition. Nightwish has had three singers. 1st one was Tarja Turunen [pronounced Tarr-ya] (Operatic vocals). She was with them until 2005. The 2nd one was Anette Olzon from Sweden (Poppy, strong vocals). She was with them until 2012.The 3rd and current singer is Floor Jansen, from Netherlands (power, operatic, soprano.....most versatile) - you just heard her. There are live concerts that you should use depending on what era. From Wishes to Eternity and End of an Era (Tarja), Montreux Festival live 2012 and Exit Festival (Anette), Live at Wacken 2013, Live at Wembley, Live at Tampere, Vehicle of Spirit, Decades live (Floor). Floor her name is derived from the Roman Goddess of Spring, Flora. Floor Jansen is called the Valkyrie Goddess of Metal and Empathy. Floor Jansen is a soprano, with a range of more than 4 octaves (Eb2 to F6). She can sing from classical to belting and raspy vocals like screaming and death growls. And she's also a voice coach and teacher to boot. Plus, huge vocal nerd 😉. Floor Jansen was the singer of the Dutch metal band After Forever from 1997 to early 2009. From 1999 she studied at the Rockacademie in Tilburg, where she graduated in 2003. She studied musical theatre and a year of opera. In addition to her activities at After Forever, she gave singing lessons. She plays guitar, piano and flute. On May 5, 2010, she presented her new band ReVamp, which was disbanded in September 2016. From 1 October 2012 Jansen replaced Anette Olzon (Second singer of Nightwish after Tarja) as singer of Nightwish during the Imaginaerum World Tour (And she had to learn the setlist in 48h). On October 9, 2013, it was announced that she would be the group's regular new front singer. In 2015, Nightwish released the album Endless Forms Most Beautiful with Jansen as lead singer. Nightwish's second studio album with Jansen as front singer, Human. :II: Nature., was released in April 2020. And the master of this magic is: Our Metal Mozart Tuomas Holopainen (founder, leader, keyboardist, songwriter and the main composer for Nightwish) Tuomas the keyboardist writes about 95% of Nightwish songs, music and lyrics. He also composes the music for the backing track they use. It is recorded in London with musicians from The London Philharmonics. Pip Williams helps with the orchestration. There are two London based choirs too on the backing track, the other one is a children's choir. And of course with a synth you can do a lot. So, the drummer: Jukka "The Pirate" Nevalainen is the former drummer in the Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish (left for health reasons, but is still a member behinde the scenes). He Is famous among Nightwish fans for wearing a bandana on his head, even during shows, his energetic drumming style, and for his spinning of his drumsticks. Joined Nightwish at the age of 17. This was recorded at the 2013 Wacken (pronounced Vahken) Open Air festival in Germany in front of an audience of 82,000 people (one of the largest heavy metal festivals in the world and one of the largest open-air festivals in Germany). Hi Amani, at Wacken, main event with Nightwish. 82000 people. This song was nr 13 of 15 songs in total. Drummer is Yukka Nevalainen, he killed it! Tuomas Holopainen plays keyboards and writes most of the music. The band is from Finland, but the singer is Floor Jansen who is from the Netherlands (just like me). Band member nr 6 is Troy Donockley (from Great Britain). They are a match made in heaven. Tenth album in the making, will be released this year. Every song a master piece. Heard so many of their compositions, always elated when I hear a song from them. Saw them live in 2022 in Amsterdam. What a show, mind blowing. Follow Gabriel Bardac’s list and you will be amazed at their catalogue. Best served live, but some ifficial videos are killer as to the meaning of their message (like the song Noise). Nightwish is, in my book, the G.O.A.T.! Everything they do is perfect! And, drummer Jukka, does not get enough credit - Jukka is the most bad-ass drummer I’ve ever seen (and I am closing on 70!).

This was the 13th of 15 songs in this concert. Floor and the rest of the band had been rockin', head banging, windmilling and dancing for an hour and 10 minutes before this, and a couple songs after. You can't go wrong with any song in this concert. Welcome to Nightwish! Enjoy. I'm 78yrs old and I listen to a complete concert a couple times a week. (They're all good)

Hello ben Nightwish fan for 10years now. NIGHTWISH is a Finnish metal symphonic band from Finland.They ben around since 1996 and ben 3 different female singers overs years. This is Floor Jensen She is dutch.She started singing for Nightwish in 2012 and still band but on break for a bit she just recently had baby 4-5 months ago. The Wacken Open Air is one of the largest and oldest metal festivals in the world. with 85,000 visitors. The bull skull is their logo. This was one of drummer Jukka Nevalainen's last concerts. Shortly after the start of recording the next album, he had to give up due to chronic illness and now works in the band's management. His successor Kai Hahto is just as good. The metalheads want to test the limits of what is possible and that is why they have many excellent musicians. You asked for the drummer. Jukka Nevalainen. One of the best drummers that I know. He had to retire as he suffered heavily from insomnia and tour-life did not make that better. He is still with the band but doing management stuff only.

He insisted that he will step out from Nightwish (played in Nightwish until 2015) because of his severe imsomnia (and migraine). He asked his friend Kai Hahto to play drums in Nightwish and he is the current drummer. But I miss Jukka on drums so much. As you can see in this show, his style and skill, what a drummer 🥁🥁🤘🤘There are many other songs in this show where Jukka playing drums just shines 😎Absolutely beautiful drumming what Jukka does. About Nightwish, Tuomas Holopainen (keyboards) main and one of the Nightwish founders write and compose this beautiful music, symphonic metal. He is our metal Mozart, our Finnsh national treasure (yes I am from Finland too). I have all their albums since 1996, waiting for their 10th album this year and I was at their live concert last June here in Finland, Vaasa city and I tell you, if you ever have a chance seeing them live go!
When you want to go further on the path of our 1.83m (6ft.+) tall Dutch Valkyrie Queen Floor Jansen besides Nightwish, here is some background information on the best and most versitale female singer of our time. Floor joined the band 'After Forever' in 1997 at the age of 16. Here are some of my favourites: ‘Energize me’; Monolith of Doubt’ and Dreamflight’. Floor attended the then new Rock Academy in 1999 and graduated in 2003. She also studied 2 years at the Conservatory (1 year Music Theatre and 1 year Opera). 'After Forever' disbanded in 2009 and Floor started her own band 'Revamp' from scratch. Here she experimented with different vocal styles within one song from full operatic to death growls in seconds. Here are some examples: ‘Misery’s no Crime’, ‘Wild card’ and ‘Disdain’. Besides managing a band on her own she also did a lot of vocal coaching and as she is a perfectionist, she wants to do everything at 100%+. Eventually she had to pay the price and got a burnout. She had just recovered when end of september 2012 the call came from Nightwish to fill in for the remainder of the North American Tour at first as their second singer Annette got ill. Floor had just 48 hours to learn the whole setlist. There is a documentary made of this world tour: ‘Please learn the setlist in 48 hours’ Floor joined Nightwish after this iconic Wacken concert in 2013 as permanent member of the band. Floor continued to perform with 'Revamp’ also, but it was clear that she could not combine the two for much longer, so 'Revamp' disbanded in 2016. Floor did a side project called 'Northward' where she dived into the Hard Rock scene. The song 'While Love Died is a must see. Her stunning performances on the Dutch TV show 'Beste Zangers 2019' gave her at last some more recognition in her home country where she was relatively unknown until then. There are numerous guest appearances with other bands to find on UA-cam. To see how to get a crowd of metalheads silenced and in awe watch her featuring with the band 'Epica' and the song 'Stabat Mater Dolorosa’ and to see her in full opera mode, watch her rendition of 'O Mio Babbino Caro' from Puccini. As live concerts were cancelled and home isolation due to the Covid situation, Floor discovered UA-cam in these years. Mindblowing covers, chats with her idols and other singers, vocal masterclasses, personal insights and so much more. She even made a video reacting to herself singing Ghost Love Score at Wacken. Lots of technical info and some memories of her starting with Nightwish. Also her Fan Friday videos are hilarious. Just unpack some of these and other presents she left on her channel. You'll get suggestions for other songs, but here's a tip...NW have never released anything other than carefully crafted beautiful songs. They cover a vast array of moods / emotions / catchy / sad / uplifting, but there are no dull / duff songs. There's plenty in the NW canon that never get 'reacted', but really, you can't go wrong with anything that Tuomas Holopainen has had a hand in. He's a genius.

Btw...The drummers name is Jukka. He is now the manager of Nightwish and has stepped down from drumming, due to health reasons. Kai Haito is now the drummer of Nightwish. (He's also in the band WINTERSUN) This kind of music is called "Symphonic Metal/Geo Classical Metal/Ghotic Metal " Lol.... Alot of "genres" due to EVERY NIGHTWISH SONG/MELODY BEING DIFFERENT! 😘 Our "Metal Mozart, Tuomas...on Keyboard", writes and composes 95% of the music. [Sami Vanska was the bassist of the band starting with their 2nd studio album, he was with them until 2001. Then Marco Hietala was bassist and vocals, since 2001 to 2020. He recently announced his retirement both from the band and the public life for the next year at least. Then in May 2021 Jukka Koskinen [pronounced Yukka] became the bassist of the band, for the Human :II: Nature tour - and recently, the band announced he became a permanent member] And there is the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen [he also recorded the bass lines for their 1st studio album]. Then there is Troy Donockley from UK who is a multi-instrumentalist and vocals. Jukka Nevalainen [pronounced Yukka] is the drummer. In 2015 due to Jukka's health issues Kai Hahto became the drummer and as of now is a permanent addition.
Nightwish has had three singers. 1st one was Tarja Turunen [pronounced Tarr-ya] (Operatic vocals). She was with them until 2005. The 2nd one was Anette Olzon from Sweden (Poppy, strong vocals). She was with them until 2012.The 3rd and current singer is Floor Jansen, from Netherlands (power, operatic, soprano.....most versatile) - you just heard her.
There are live concerts that you should use depending on what era. From Wishes to Eternity and End of an Era (Tarja), Montreux Festival live 2012 and Exit Festival (Anette), Live at Wacken 2013, Live at Wembley, Live at Tampere, Vehicle of Spirit, Decades live (Floor). I hope this helps.

Floor Jansen is called the Valkyrie Goddess of Metal and Empathy.
Floor Jansen is a soprano, with a range of more than 4 octaves (Eb2 to F6).
She can sing from classical to belting and raspy vocals like screaming and death growls. And she's also a voice coach and teacher to boot. Plus, huge vocal nerd 😉.
Floor Jansen was the singer of the Dutch metal band After Forever from 1997 to early 2009. From 1999 she studied at the Rockacademie in Tilburg, where she graduated in 2003. She studied musical theatre and a year of opera. In addition to her activities at After Forever, she gave singing lessons. She plays guitar, piano and flute. On May 5, 2010, she presented her new band ReVamp, which was disbanded in September 2016.
From 1 October 2012 Jansen replaced Anette Olzon (Second singer of Nightwish after Tarja) as singer of Nightwish during the Imaginaerum World Tour (And she had to learn the setlist in 48h). On October 9, 2013, it was announced that she would be the group's regular new front singer. In 2015, Nightwish released the album Endless Forms Most Beautiful with Jansen as lead singer. Nightwish's second studio album with Jansen as front singer, Human. :II: Nature., was released in April 2020.

Our Metal Mozart Tuomas Holopainen (founder, leader, keyboardist, songwriter and the main composer for Nightwish)
Tuomas the keyboardist writes about 95% of Nightwish songs, music and lyrics. He also composes the music for the backing track they use. It is recorded in London with musicians from The London Philharmonics. Pip Williams helps with the orchestration. There are two London based choirs too on the backing track, the other one is a children's choir. And of course with a synth you can do a lot.

Jukka "The Pirate" Nevalainen is the former drummer in the Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish (left for health reasons, but is still a member behinde the scenes).
He Is famous among Nightwish fans for wearing a bandana on his head, even during shows, his energetic drumming style, and for his spinning of his drumsticks. Joined Nightwish at the age of 17.
This was recorded at the 2013 Wacken (pronounced Vahken) Open Air festival in Germany in front of an audience of 82,000 people (one of the largest heavy metal festivals in the world and one of the largest open-air festivals in Germany). The fiery bull head is the symbol of the festival.

Hi Amani, at Wacken, main event with Nightwish. 82000 people. This song was nr 13 of 15 songs in total. Drummer is Yukka Nevalainen, he killed it! Tuomas Holopainen plays keyboards and writes most of the music. The band is from Finland, but the singer is Floor Jansen who is from the Netherlands (just like me). Band member nr 6 is Troy Donockley (from Great Britain). They are a match made in heaven. Tenth album in the making, will be released this year. Every song a master piece. Heard so many of their compositions, always elated when I hear a song from them. Saw them live in 2022 in Amsterdam. What a show, mind blowing. Follow Gabriel Bardac’s list and you will be amazed at their catalogue. Best served live, but some ifficial videos are killer as to the meaning of their message (like the song Noise). Enjoy the ride, it’s a great one!
Nightwish is, in my book, the G.O.A.T.! Everything they do is perfect! And, drummer Jukka, does not get enough credit - Jukka is the most bad-ass drummer I’ve ever seen (and I am closing on 70!).

This was the 13th of 15 songs in this concert. Floor and the rest of the band had been rockin', head banging, windmilling and dancing for an hour and 10 minutes before this, and a couple songs after. You can't go wrong with any song in this concert.

This was one of drummer Jukka Nevalainen's last concerts. Shortly after the start of recording the next album, he had to give up due to chronic illness and now works in the band's management. Hello dear reactor, Nightwish fan here. In this show Jukka Nevalainen plays the drums, I admire him so much. He insisted that he will step out from Nightwish (played in Nightwish until 2015) because of his severe imsomnia (and migraine). He asked his friend Kai Hahto to play drums in Nightwish and he is the current drummer. But I miss Jukka on drums so much. As you can see in this show, his style and skill, what a drummer 🥁🥁🤘🤘There are many other songs in this show where Jukka playing drums just shines 😎Absolutely beautiful drumming what Jukka does. About Nightwish, Tuomas Holopainen (keyboards) main and one of the Nightwish founders write and compose this beautiful music, symphonic metal. He is our metal Mozart, our Finnsh national treasure (yes I am from Finland too). I have all their albums since 1996, waiting for their 10th album this year and I was at their live concert last June here in Finland, Vaasa city and I tell you, if you ever have a chance seeing them live go!
When you want to go further on the path of our 1.83m (6ft.+) tall Dutch Valkyrie Queen Floor Jansen besides Nightwish, here is some background information on the best and most versitale female singer of our time. Floor joined the band 'After Forever' in 1997 at the age of 16. Here are some of my favourites: ‘Energize me’; Monolith of Doubt’ and Dreamflight’.
Floor attended the then new Rock Academy in 1999 and graduated in 2003. She also studied 2 years at the Conservatory (1 year Music Theatre and 1 year Opera).
'After Forever' disbanded in 2009 and Floor started her own band 'Revamp' from scratch. Here she experimented with different vocal styles within one song from full operatic to death growls in seconds. Here are some examples: ‘Misery’s no Crime’, ‘Wild card’ and ‘Disdain’.
Besides managing a band on her own she also did a lot of vocal coaching and as she is a perfectionist, she wants to do everything at 100%+. Eventually she had to pay the price and got a burnout. She had just recovered when end of september 2012 the call came from Nightwish to fill in for the remainder of the North American Tour at first as their second singer Annette got ill. Floor had just 48 hours to learn the whole setlist. There is a documentary made of this world tour: ‘Please learn the setlist in 48 hours’
Floor joined Nightwish after this iconic Wacken concert in 2013 as permanent member of the band. Floor continued to perform with 'Revamp’ also, but it was clear that she could not combine the two for much longer, so 'Revamp' disbanded in 2016. Floor did a side project called 'Northward' where she dived into the Hard Rock scene. The song 'While Love Died is a must see.
Her stunning performances on the Dutch TV show 'Beste Zangers 2019' gave her at last some more recognition in her home country where she was relatively unknown until then. There are numerous guest appearances with other bands to find on UA-cam. To see how to get a crowd of metalheads silenced and in awe watch her featuring with the band 'Epica' and the song 'Stabat Mater Dolorosa’ and to see her in full opera mode, watch her rendition of 'O Mio Babbino Caro' from Puccini. As live concerts were cancelled and home isolation due to the Covid situation, Floor discovered UA-cam in these years. Mindblowing covers, chats with her idols and other singers, vocal masterclasses, personal insights and so much more. She even made a video reacting to herself singing Ghost Love Score at Wacken. Lots of technical info and some memories of her starting with Nightwish.
Also her Fan Friday videos are hilarious. Just unpack some of these and other presents she left on her channel. Also videos of her solotour she did with songs of her impressive career. Her latest endeavour is her stunning solo album ‘My Paragon. Floor is a high sensitive person, so peace and quiet is as important for her. Living by the woods in Sweden with her husband Hannes Van Dahl (drummer of the band Sabaton), daughters Freja (turns 7 years next march) and Lucy (born last october) ,a couple of horses, dogs and cats, she found this.

You'll get suggestions for other songs, but here's a tip...NW have never released anything other than carefully crafted beautiful songs. They cover a vast array of moods / emotions / catchy / sad / uplifting, but there are no dull / duff songs. There's plenty in the NW canon that never get 'reacted', but really, you can't go wrong with anything that Tuomas Holopainen has had a hand in. He's a genius.
