Portofino is not only the small village of Portofino, but the peninsula of the Mount of Portofino, that is mostly a natural park. A wildlife protected area among the villages of Camogli, Portofino and Santa Margherita Ligure, with more than 50 miles (80 km) of hicking trails. My suggestion is to avoid August, when you could find a lot of people, and take some time to enjoy the place. Bring your trekking shoes to walk in our Park. Don't miss San Fruttuoso di Camogli, with the one thousand years old abbey in a beautiful cove and the village of Camogli. We don't have many beaches. My top beaches are San Fruttuoso and the tiny beach of Niasca, in Portofino, close to Paraggi. The best place to swimm and dive, anyway, is Punta Chiappa. There's no beach: it's a long rock. You can get there by boat from Camogli or hicking from San Rocco di Camogli. Bring a scuba mask: marine fauna will surprise you.
Very good narration and descriptions of everything. One correction of an often-used word the narrator says. The word "history" is actually supposed to be a 3-syllable word. Not 2. Not "his-try" but "his-to-ry".
