I remember Kitwe Little Thearter In Kitwe I spent My Younger Days My Father Worker On The Zccm Mines For Forty Nineyrs Miss Zambia God Bless Zambia Love You All Murray Hurter
Another great video bringing back old memories of the road names. I remember The Little Theatre in the 1960s and 1970s but everything else in the video looks new to me. Kitwe has expanded a lot in 50 years . My love to everyone in Kitwe!
A beautiful place Nkana East ,where I stayed from 1991 to 1994. The house was well secured with burglar doors in all rooms to be safe from thieves ! It was entirely different from Luangwa township, of Kabwe ! Lived safely for 3 years there till moved to NDOLA ! Before going to bed every day locking all doors & opening them in the morning were really wonderful ! Thanks for reminding me the life of three years there!

Kitwe little theatre has good memories of the 1960s for me. My parents were members and took part in productions. I particularly remember my father being the doctor in the ‘doctor in love’ production. I think there was also a production of ‘Robinson Crusoe’ they were involved in. I joined a young drama group that ran from there for a while.
I like the way the streets were planned with much wider nature strips which is lacking in today’s suburbs where the walls are so close to the roads. I think it’s because most town & city planners are just cadres who’re not qualified & don’t understand issues of safety especially for pedestrians who’re forced to share the roads with cars. Current planners will blame lack of enough land for not having wider nature strips, but those of who have travelled much will not accept their reasoning. Nkana East was a very beautiful place & its roads should have had footpaths for pedestrians by now. Anyway, thanks for the video which brings some memories although I am an Ndolan person.
I hv to like & really put my past not to dictate my present. The first time I was I Kitwe was in 1993 just at Mpelembe secondary school to minister to the students & that was great, then was there 4 yrs ago & had very bad experience 😂😂😂 But all good now to the glory of God 🙏🏾
If I remember correctly, the little thetre was in Drury lane and the new Duth Refirmed Church was next to Ihe theatre. I was part of a play at there in 1964. I was born at Rhokana Mine Hospital. 14th Feb 1843, whent to Frederick Knap when mr Knap as the head master, finished at Kitwe boy's high school. Worked at the mine assay labs and left in 1966, now in Pretoria South Africa, 81 years young. My father is buried in the mine cemetry
