If properly maintained, these should last 20 years without any kind of major repairs. And no, you don't need to run the engine wide open. Unless you're cutting some tough thick tall great or weeds, you can run it a half throttle and it will do a good job. Make sure you keep your blades sharp and your engine doesn't have to work as hard, which will make it last alot longer. Keep you oil changed and keep the unit lubed at all the moving parts. My last one (I bought used) last over 20 years.
For men. Men can step on and off easily. Me? A 5’2” tall woman….little hurtful if I rush trying to sit down. Slamming hips into steering wheels, leaves bruises.
Bought my Poulan Pro PP175G42 last Spring...great tractor !
I bough mine 6 years ago and still running like new. Just change the oil and filter. Still the factory battery. I use every week or two. Love it.
