I've never know that Yoohyeon's dad already passed away. She looks so cheerful girl inside and outside. But it's hurt to see her crying bcs she miss her dad so much. I love you Yoohyeon
So we all know Dami rarely shows emotion and that’s not a bad thing. But when I saw the thumbnail and the look on her face, I knew SOMETHING was going down. I had no idea it was going to be as emotional as it was. A few observations: I’ve never seen Dami’s face react with so much emotion centered around pain. Yoohyeon’s crying for a parent was very real so no one, not a soul should be in this comment section calling this fake. And the hug Gahyeon was so ready to give was the sweetest thing, I love our Maknae she is so full of pure love. And I do have to laugh (because she is me) at Dongie immediately tearing up. Seriously though…that’s me. Just now and in most situations. I love these girls. Second video in a row from them that’s made me cry. Dami’s mv for her pup….😭😭😭 they’re freaking killing me.
It struck me too that Handong is so fast to tear up even though she is the funny/savage one. These ladies all seem to have pure hearts. Just when I thought I can’t love them more ❤️
we can't forget Jiu, our leader and the mom of the members. it felt heartbreaking. And SuA the clown started crying was even more heartbreaking. I love them

Hypnosis can be bad for people with trauma. Certain images can trigger painful memories. I like that this hypnotist guy had her speak directly to her father in her mind, to help her calm and give her some peace and closure. He didn't try to force the past life regression, he let her process what she needed to.

I cried so hard for Yoohyeon. That would've been so hard for her to re-experience that traumatic memory, especially under hypnosis. The fact that she not only shared it with the other members, who are like a family to her, but to also all of us fans, even though she didn't have to allow that footage to be shared, just shows how strong and powerful she is as an idol, a woman and as a human being. She trusted herself to share that information with all of us, showing how big her heart really is, and that she has a lot of love to give, and deserves all of the love, patience, understanding and care back that we InSomnias can give her. We all love you so much Yoohyeon. You are a truly incredible person, and thank you so much for being so strong. It can't have been easy for you at all. I know I cried my eyes out like a baby, and I'm sure every InSomnia did too.
Yoohyeon’s part broke me especially since I put myself in Gahyeon’s shoes. I have a group of friends who I consider my brothers/sisters and I’m the youngest and always get babied by them. I still remember the time seeing one of the goofiest energetic person in our group cry and it broke me because that was something I’ve never seen and thought I’d never see. Also felt useless in that moment because I was always been the one to be helped but I was just frozen, shocked and crying too.
I don't watch any other groups reality shows, so I might be wrong, but I think DCC really goes somewhere where no other company would dare to go to in regards to the contents of the series. At least from the snippets of something like Time to Twice or BlackPink House that I've seen, it always seemed to me that these shows are all about being funny and entertaining and making the idols look all cute - the usual stuff. Yet here, you enter DCM and it's like Handong shouting in complete fear, Yoohyeon bursting into tears and sobbing in grief (taking all the insomnias with her)... I really truly deeply appreciate DCC and DC members for producing such a raw show. Just makes me so proud for being a fan of a group that is real and is not afraid to show it.
Uhm actually this kind of content is pretty common too. Going into haunted house, hypnosis experience, etc. Especially for haunted house content, it's the most common one like most shows (web or tv) have this kinda episode at least once (e.g. going seventeen, exo showtime). Hypnosis or past life experience is also common (e.g. Ikon, Monsta X, Rocket Punch). You just have to type "kpop haunted house" or "kpop hypnosis" in youtube. But then ofc I also appreciate DCC for providing this kind of content instead of just fun stuffs (which I totally wouldn't mind too)
The thing you're 100% right about is the label showing the members as full people, not just always quirky-funny or badass-but-secretly-cute-offstage or whatever the corporate concept for them (designed to increase sales and streams) is.
A lot of what we see from kpop groups are scripted and edited , all fitting the company’s narrative. With DCC , it’s more like, what you see is what you get.
ALL INSOMNIAS PLS READ: yoohyeon opened up about her personal trauma and allowed us to take a glance into her life. this is an extremely sensitive topic (i’m currently sobbing lol) and i think out of respect we should not mention anything about it, especially if she doesn’t bring it up!! try not to make yourself comfy just because you know her trauma. we are not her closest friends and we still have to remain respectful. imagine opening weverse, for example, and everyone is talking about your dad who passed away. it’s insensitive and will only make her healing journey harder. i know insomnias are such a caring fandom so please let’s show some love and respect ✊💞

One of the things I say the most after becoming a fan of Dreamcatcher is that Yoohyeon have one of the most cheerful, happy, honest and contagious laugh and a heavenly beautiful smile so, you can imagine how hard and deep impact it is to see her here... That «sorry» hits hard in everybody's soul.

ok, so Dreamcatcher often make me laugh till my belly hurts, but seeing them suffering like Yoohyeon in this episode made me cry like a baby. I think I can talk for all Insomnias that if we could we would protect them from all hurt and sorrow. that's how much I love them. I hope Yoohyeon can find her healing and live a happy life with happy memories 🥺 I'm proud of my baby 🤧

It's dangerous that this guy brought out repressed (and possibly inaccurate) memories and then tried to deal with them like a psychologist. Yoohyeon needs to see an actual bereavement therapist to confront her grief.
@@EditsbyM I really agree with this. I have done PTSD therapy for repressed memories and it is really hard. I really hope she continues to get help for these feelings so that they don't become stronger.

That's a healing procedure. Thanks to the hypnosis she got a chance to not only see her dad once again, but also understand how he really feel (or felt) about her, which is a really helpful thing when you're struggling or holding such a great pain. Understanding where the pain is coming from and how to cure it is a very important step in the healing process.
The fact SuA was a man and married to someone who looked like Gahyeon is sending me 😂 but when Yoohyeon started crying bitch my touch exterior vanished, omg I couldn’t stop crying! 😭 I just wanna hold her and tell her it’s going to be okay! I lost my grandpa (who was like my dad) almost 8 years ago and it still hurts sometimes but I just try my best to make him proud! ❤️ I love you Yoohyeon! ❤️ it’ll get easier I promise!! ❤️❤️❤️
you never know the pain a person hides behind a smile. yoohyeon is always so joyful and full of energy that I never imagined she had so much suffering hidden inside her. she is so strong
When I started getting treatment for my PTSD, I tried hypnosis as well and the exact same thing happened to me. Hypnosis basically means that you're switching off your conscious mind and are completely immersed in your subconscious. When you're in that state and the first thing that happens is you start crying, it essentially means you're in pain 24/7 and you never really got a chance to grieve and cope and that's how it got buried this deep. You never really dealt with your sorrow and sadness, you just somehow got used to it and started living with it like that. Poor Yoohyeon has been suffering every day for over a decade. In a way I think it's good that she had this hypnosis experience, even if it was painful for her. Knowing the problem is the first step to solving it. Knowing Dreamcatcher and their whole staff being like a family, it's good to know she won't be alone with this. I hope she'll feel better soon. 💗
@@nlzhf4111 It's incredibly overwhelming if it works. There are people who are hard to hypnotize or straight up immune to any and all attempts of it. I'm not one of these people. A minute and a half and I was gone from the outside world and retreated completely into my own head. Seconds later I started crying and it eventually got so bad after about 15 minutes that we had to end the session cause I was bawling so much I had trouble breathing. I went later for a second and third session that were way more productive (still cried a ton tho), but yeah. It's like... all of these defense mechanisms and avoidance strategies that we develop when we're running away from something get stripped away all at once at the snap of a finger and suddenly you're right there, forced to face everything you were so busy hiding from. And you've nowhere left to run. It was definitely a pretty extreme but incredibly helpful experience for me.
===cw for mention of suicide=== I tried to be hypnotized once, but nothing happened. To be fair, it was in a group setting, and probably my fear of being seen as weak in front of others prevented it from happening. Maybe in a more one-on-one setting like this, it would've been successful. Anyway, Gahyeon's comment: "Where else can we say things like this?" really saddened me. I wish Asians were more accepting of therapy. There's a history of mental illness in my family & my Filipino father just doesn't understand why you can't just pray or exercise depression away. When I lived in Korea too, people told me not to be so open about things like therapy or mental illness. I don't feel like we should've seen something so private, but if Yoohyeon consented to it being aired, that's her choice. I truly hope she gets actual therapy.

As someone who's been part of the hypnosis scenario, even if just passively, I can understand how deep and hard must be for Yoohyeon to deal with her pain. She grieves her father even after such long time, even after being successful in some way. This type of hypnosis brings you back to the more important place your subconscious must be, where you really need to be inside you mind. The wound in Yoohyeon may be one of the deepest, and it's obviously a very hard to heal one. The fact that she got pulled for that specific scenario in that specific way shows how much scared and wounded is her inner child. She'll need time to heal, and I hope she gets enough space to deal with this burst of information she just got.
I agree with everything you said. As the therapist said this could be even surprising for her in some way because she is connecting with something that is deep in her mind, in her subconscious and conscious. She is confronting those deep emotions. I really respect her a lot (I already did) for sharing this moment that is so personal and I hope this is a good way for her to heal ❤️

I learned so much from this episode although my eyes were swollen. After watching Yoohyeon's session, she taught me how to appreciate people around me whom I cherished the most-especially my parents. I am lucky that I still have them by my side supporting me. So, while they’re still alive, I'll start to pay attention and show my love more so that I won’t regret it in the end. I actually think they should have cut Yoohyeon's session. It was far too personal for us to see. Yes, we all love and support her, but this was genuine therapy, something we shouldn't be a part of. There's a difference between a fun hypnosis skit with SuA and that.
@@GleeChan the girls have a say in the editing and always had Yoohyeon agreed to this or they wouldn't have aired it or differently When Sua wasnt comfortable showing her muscles theycput stickers on it for exemple or just the fact that we don't know why sua had tears during her hypnosis Every emotional aspect that we see were allowed by the members so I think we should just be grateful to be allowed in like that

My dad passed away too when im in 1st yr high school . So i cried like a baby when i watch yoohyeon .. Now i can really tell that dreamcatcher are actually my savior . I dont have a great day today . Then suddenly their reality show pop up on youtube .and actually got me a good feeling when i watch this . . Maybe i dont have a chance to tell this to them but. i hope yoohyeon knows how loved she is, truly. also i think sometimes people tend to forget but this is a huge reminder that as human beings we all have scars and trauma and experience pain one way or another. so really it may sound like some bs positivity thing but PLEASE be kind to each other. we never really now what a person has gone through, we're all on the same boat trying to make some sense out of life. stay well and healthy and take care of yourselves and the people you love. 💜

I would normally be angry at the producers for publicly revealing Yoohyeon's scars like this, but I have to believe that the only reason we get to see them in the first place is because Yoohyeon herself gave them her blessing to air the episode. Dreamcatcher Company always treats all the members with such respect and care that I don't have any grounds to think that they'd suddenly do otherwise. I guess that means that Yoohyeon is just that strong of a person, so much so that she's willing to share her private grief with all of us. Honestly, I feel somewhat guilty even being allowed to see or know this at all when none of us as fans can truly reciprocate. We know her, but she cannot know each of us to the same degree. All we can do is continue being the best, most supportive fans we can and cherish the fact that our favorite group is so genuine.
Well I’ve watched quite a lot of dreamcatcher’s videos and I kinda have a hunch about Yoohyeon’s dad since she only seems to make phone calls with her mom. But hearing it from her tearing up like that really hit differently. Somehow I ended up crying too…. Kudos to her mom for raising her 4 kids so well. I mean just look at our Yoo, she grows up to be such a beautiful, kind-hearted and hardworking lady!
Yoohyeon is seriously inspirational. Her image is very much cute, funny and clumsy but there’s so much more to her than that. Sometimes she comes out with the most beautiful things. Like when a fan told her a pick up line “do you have a pencil? So I can erase the past and write our future.” And she replied “you don’t have to erase your past, let’s just make our future more beautiful.” She’s said a lot of really beautiful things out of nowhere. Especially on fan signs when people told her they were sad and asked for advice etc. For me at first she was just a talented idol I liked. These days she’s probably my biggest inspiration. I hope the people close to her take good care of her and support her through all the hard times. She’s been through a lot but she still smiles and tries to keep a positive mindset. She really deserves the world 💚

I'm also an Insomnia and I lost my dad to covid just months ago. You won't believe how much I screamed and cried into my pillow while watching this. Although I've been a kpop stan and an insomnia for a long time I never thought there'd be something that affects me on such a deep level, that too a 15 min hypnosis video. Well well well, this was a true rollercoaster... Minji's perfect dad joke (oh how much I truly love her for those 💞), Sua saying her wife looks like Gahyeon and then their reactions, to my love, Yoohyeon. They made me cry twice under one day. First Dami with her self-produced song, then now Yooh. Seeing Minji's curious, then worried face, then crying not even wanting to hold back throughout Yoohyeon's trance, and at the end at 14:56 her "I am not convinced by what you said just now, so don't even try to escape my comforting later, because I'm never letting you go and feel sad again" expression shows that what these girls have is true and geniune. I am seriously glad, that I didn't have to watch my love, Minji do this, because if she had a happy and joyful experience my heart could explode, let alone thinking about if she had a sad episode, it was alredy too hard with Yoohyeonie, I could not really take that. I love all of you so much and I will support you even after death 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗
I'm not the biggest fan. I just watch their reality show because I've just gotten into their music but not the biggest fan. Still, this is my first time seeing an idol really cry in agony, like cry so hard like this. I really feel for her and I hope she's okay, all of them, and all of you guys as well.

Correct although I also feel we need to be respectful to the idols like Yoohyeon in a way. There are fans that try to get to close to an idol and I'm afraid people will overstep boundaries and keep bringing up her father. We love her yes, and she provides us with a cheerful demeanor and makes us feel welcome. However we don't really know her outside a few things including what was seen in the video, she is not our friend. She is an artist that we love and we should respect her and not constantly bring up her lost to sympathize with her and get close to her. Idols are marketed that way, to be accessable to us yes but at the end of the day we are fans not friends. We must acknowledge her loss and we can feel sad for her because losing a loved one is terrible but we do not need to keep reminding yoohyeon of her loss. I hope she doesn't open weverse and see people talking about her dad. I feel that will not only make her feel bad but she might not go on weverse or do vlives anymore if this happens. So we all know Dami rarely shows emotion and that’s not a bad thing. But when I saw the thumbnail and the look on her face, I knew SOMETHING was going down. I had no idea it was going to be as emotional as it was. A few observations: I’ve never seen Dami’s face react with so much emotion centered around pain. Yoohyeon’s crying for a parent was very real so no one, not a soul should be in this comment section calling this fake. And the hug Gahyeon was so ready to give was the sweetest thing, I love our Maknae she is so full of pure love. And I do have to laugh (because she is me) at Dongie immediately tearing up. Hypnosis can be bad for people with trauma. Certain images can trigger painful memories. I like that this hypnotist guy had her speak directly to her father in her mind, to help her calm and give her some peace and closure. He didn't try to force the past life regression, he let her process what she needed to.
His words were so touching 😭😭 esp when he said to let him “go” and she refused and he reworded it to make her feel more at ease I cried so much 😭😭😭

I cried so hard for Yoohyeon. That would've been so hard for her to re-experience that traumatic memory, especially under hypnosis. The fact that she not only shared it with the other members, who are like a family to her, but to also all of us fans, even though she didn't have to allow that footage to be shared, just shows how strong and powerful she is as an idol, a woman and as a human being.
She trusted herself to share that information with all of us, showing how big her heart really is, and that she has a lot of love to give, and deserves all of the love, patience, understanding and care back that we InSomnias can give her. We all love you so much Yoohyeon. You are a truly incredible person, and thank you so much for being so strong. It can't have been easy for you at all. I know I cried my eyes out like a baby, and I'm sure every InSomnia did too.
Yoohyeon’s part broke me especially since I put myself in Gahyeon’s shoes. I have a group of friends who I consider my brothers/sisters and I’m the youngest and always get babied by them. I still remember the time seeing one of the goofiest energetic person in our group cry and it broke me because that was something I’ve never seen and thought I’d never see. Also felt useless in that moment because I was always been the one to be helped but I was just frozen, shocked and crying too.
I don't watch any other groups reality shows, so I might be wrong, but I think DCC really goes somewhere where no other company would dare to go to in regards to the contents of the series. At least from the snippets of something like Time to Twice or BlackPink House that I've seen, it always seemed to me that these shows are all about being funny and entertaining and making the idols look all cute - the usual stuff. Yet here, you enter DCM and it's like Handong shouting in complete fear, Yoohyeon bursting into tears and sobbing in grief (taking all the insomnias with her)... I really truly deeply appreciate DCC and DC members for producing such a raw show. Just makes me so proud for being a fan of a group that is real and is not afraid to show it.
Uhm actually this kind of content is pretty common too. Going into haunted house, hypnosis experience, etc. Especially for haunted house content, it's the most common one like most shows (web or tv) have this kinda episode at least once (e.g. going seventeen, exo showtime). Hypnosis or past life experience is also common (e.g. Ikon, Monsta X, Rocket Punch). You just have to type "kpop haunted house" or "kpop hypnosis" in youtube. But then ofc I also appreciate DCC for providing this kind of content instead of just fun stuffs (which I totally wouldn't mind too)

The thing you're 100% right about is the label showing the members as full people, not just always quirky-funny or badass-but-secretly-cute-offstage or whatever the corporate concept for them (designed to increase sales and streams) is.
A lot of what we see from kpop groups are scripted and edited , all fitting the company’s narrative. With DCC , it’s more like, what you see is what you get.
All the themes are pretty common actually since 2nd gen groups, for this episode i remember monsta x did this for their variety show

That's a healing procedure. Thanks to the hypnosis she got a chance to not only see her dad once again, but also understand how he really feel (or felt) about her, which is a really helpful thing when you're struggling or holding such a great pain. Understanding where the pain is coming from and how to cure it is a very important step in the healing process.

When I started getting treatment for my PTSD, I tried hypnosis as well and the exact same thing happened to me. Hypnosis basically means that you're switching off your conscious mind and are completely immersed in your subconscious. When you're in that state and the first thing that happens is you start crying, it essentially means you're in pain 24/7 and you never really got a chance to grieve and cope and that's how it got buried this deep. You never really dealt with your sorrow and sadness, you just somehow got used to it and started living with it like that. Poor Yoohyeon has been suffering every day for over a decade. In a way I think it's good that she had this hypnosis experience, even if it was painful for her. Knowing the problem is the first step to solving it. Knowing Dreamcatcher and their whole staff being like a family, it's good to know she won't be alone with this. I hope she'll feel better soon. 💗

@@nlzhf4111 It's incredibly overwhelming if it works. There are people who are hard to hypnotize or straight up immune to any and all attempts of it. I'm not one of these people. A minute and a half and I was gone from the outside world and retreated completely into my own head. Seconds later I started crying and it eventually got so bad after about 15 minutes that we had to end the session cause I was bawling so much I had trouble breathing. I went later for a second and third session that were way more productive (still cried a ton tho), but yeah. It's like... all of these defense mechanisms and avoidance strategies that we develop when we're running away from something get stripped away all at once at the snap of a finger and suddenly you're right there, forced to face everything you were so busy hiding from. And you've nowhere left to run. It was definitely a pretty extreme but incredibly helpful experience for me.

I tried to be hypnotized once, but nothing happened. To be fair, it was in a group setting, and probably my fear of being seen as weak in front of others prevented it from happening. Maybe in a more one-on-one setting like this, it would've been successful.
Anyway, Gahyeon's comment: "Where else can we say things like this?" really saddened me. I wish Asians were more accepting of therapy. There's a history of mental illness in my family & my Filipino father just doesn't understand why you can't just pray or exercise depression away. When I lived in Korea too, people told me not to be so open about things like therapy or mental illness. I don't feel like we should've seen something so private, but if Yoohyeon consented to it being aired, that's her choice. I truly hope she gets actual therapy.

As someone who's been part of the hypnosis scenario, even if just passively, I can understand how deep and hard must be for Yoohyeon to deal with her pain. She grieves her father even after such long time, even after being successful in some way. This type of hypnosis brings you back to the more important place your subconscious must be, where you really need to be inside you mind. The wound in Yoohyeon may be one of the deepest, and it's obviously a very hard to heal one. The fact that she got pulled for that specific scenario in that specific way shows how much scared and wounded is her inner child. She'll need time to heal, and I hope she gets enough space to deal with this burst of information she just got.

As the therapist said this could be even surprising for her in some way because she is connecting with something that is deep in her mind, in her subconscious and conscious. She is confronting those deep emotions. I really respect her a lot (I already did) for sharing this moment that is so personal and I hope this is a good way for her to heal ❤️

I would normally be angry at the producers for publicly revealing Yoohyeon's scars like this, but I have to believe that the only reason we get to see them in the first place is because Yoohyeon herself gave them her blessing to air the episode. Dreamcatcher Company always treats all the members with such respect and care that I don't have any grounds to think that they'd suddenly do otherwise. I guess that means that Yoohyeon is just that strong of a person, so much so that she's willing to share her private grief with all of us.
Honestly, I feel somewhat guilty even being allowed to see or know this at all when none of us as fans can truly reciprocate. We know her, but she cannot know each of us to the same degree. All we can do is continue being the best, most supportive fans we can and cherish the fact that our favorite group is so genuine.
She pretty clearly even gave them photos of her dad for the episode, so id say that yeah she probably had some say in it

Well I’ve watched quite a lot of dreamcatcher’s videos and I kinda have a hunch about Yoohyeon’s dad since she only seems to make phone calls with her mom. But hearing it from her tearing up like that really hit differently. Somehow I ended up crying too….

Yoohyeon is seriously inspirational. Her image is very much cute, funny and clumsy but there’s so much more to her than that. Sometimes she comes out with the most beautiful things. Like when a fan told her a pick up line “do you have a pencil? So I can erase the past and write our future.” And she replied “you don’t have to erase your past, let’s just make our future more beautiful.” She’s said a lot of really beautiful things out of nowhere. Especially on fan signs when people told her they were sad and asked for advice etc. For me at first she was just a talented idol I liked. These days she’s probably my biggest inspiration. I hope the people close to her take good care of her and support her through all the hard times. She’s been through a lot but she still smiles and tries to keep a positive mindset. She really deserves the world 💚

Correct although I also feel we need to be respectful to the idols like Yoohyeon in a way. There are fans that try to get to close to an idol and I'm afraid people will overstep boundaries and keep bringing up her father. We love her yes, and she provides us with a cheerful demeanor and makes us feel welcome. However we don't really know her outside a few things including what was seen in the video, she is not our friend. She is an artist that we love and we should respect her and not constantly bring up her lost to sympathize with her and get close to her. Idols are marketed that way, to be accessable to us yes but at the end of the day we are fans not friends. We must acknowledge her loss and we can feel sad for her because losing a loved one is terrible but we do not need to keep reminding yoohyeon of her loss. I hope she doesn't open weverse and see people talking about her dad. I feel that will not only make her feel bad but she might not go on weverse or do vlives anymore if this happens.
