Sad to see the conservative tinge get stronger as these guys get older. Joe makes an effort to bring up multiple perspectives, but there’s so much, “we’re soft now,” “COVID was a hoax,” “Antifa is bad,” “military is cool and more should join” kind of rhetoric that just gets passed without much scrutiny or discussion. Like obviously this was recorded a while ago, but man it just sounds weird to have this pro-military dialogue happening while the Israel-Palestine issue is ongoing and we see US military going to support bombing residencies and hospitals. Like we are clearly seeing a terrible situation the US military is actively supporting, and it isn’t the first time we’ve heard/seen the US do bad things. Loving this country doesn’t mean we need to love the military, join, and support our country’s bad actions
Yeah they probably recorded this before the Israel stuff, but that also has nothing to do with the video. Joe literally said he had reservations on joining the military, they have probably a dozen videos talking about Barts History in the military, Joes reservations towards the Military industrial complex. Having a discussion about the military based off of the prompt with two guys that were in the military is a very surface level conversation in comparison to a lot of the hot topic debates that happen in youtube. The US military unfortunately due to its history and ties with Israel post WW2 and the whole complex mess that is our influence in the middle-east. Makes us unfortunately obligated to be involved in some capacity as a de-facto super power. Whether we support Israel in some capacity or not the two sides will continue to war with each other. You definitely don't need to love the military and all the BS that comes with it. However, there will never be a point in which our freedoms can be had in how we enjoy them without the existence of the military, especially with it having to be at the top.

It's all about being over others and protecting the money. Other nations started it, yes, but for the sake of the planet we should stop using the last ressources AND human lives for keeping military conflicts on the list of foreign politics. I've seen lots of stories of "young people leaving their houses". They make it on the news from the security footage, when they steal cars, do smash and grabs, and/or flashmob robberies. 🤨 Oh and most recently the recorded video going around on social media of the 15 teens at a Vegas HS that unalived 1 kid when they beat him to death. 🤨 At least the military guy has done something productive, beneficial and legal with his life, like the foundation he is a part of that is named on his shirt.
Btw, you know who else works long hours and probably misses getting to spend family time? Firefighters, Police Officers, EMTs, Doctors, Nurses, just to name a few examples. And a good deal of them are former military. Yet would you ask them why they would want to do those jobs? Esp. if/when they are trying to use the skills they have acquired to help people. Would you consider their long working hours to be unnecessary? I happen to appreciate the people who work the long hours, that are there to help people in the middle of the night and the early morning hours, while others are busy sleeping, since fires, MVAs, crime, and medical emergencies aren't on a time clock.
@@bethnichols2875 Yeah, especially nurses and doctors are definitely not prone to develope burnout because of the working conditions... I guess you live in the US where strikes are not a thing. The hospital staffs in other countries strike because of the low salaries and the overtime. You have a system that you want to continue although it is "sick" I would say and the guest in the video does the same. Those teenagers often come from broken homes. Their parents struggle to get or keep jobs due to several reasons. The government could for example get more of them into the hospitals, lower the working hours AND keep the salaries high. This is not socialism but a step that might become necessary for stopping the fall of the salaries. Continuing the downwards spiral where the poor get poorer and the rich get richer does not make sense to me. This phenomenon gets reported worl wide. How is this STILL a thing? What is next? That you just have to work hard and you will succeed? That you pull yourself by your bootstraps? In many cases this hasn't been enough and the younger generations start to understand this, although I wouldn't say it was voluntary. I doubt that young people are so educated and daring to risk being broke and homeless. They escapade into social media and question life. Some get lured by the promise to make a career online because that is a fun and lucrative job. I would then ask what else goes on in their lives. Mostly working 9 to 5 (or even more) and not getting anywhere. In addition, they see their parents and grandparents working several shifts because the money is tight.
@@Octobre1986 You want to know who is keeping people poor? How about looking at the criminals who are stealing from the working class people in their own neighborhoods. When a criminal steals a car from a hard working individual, vandalizes and/or crashes that person's car, that causes that hard working person to miss work from not having a vehicle now to get around. It costs them money to get their vehicle fixed or having to find a replacement to get around and do what they have to do on the daily. It costs that person time to have to deal with the insurance company and hope they will cover the claim. In our area criminals are even vandalizing the cars of elderly people who live in a retirement community and are on a fixed income. They can't afford the financial hit to replace the glass on their vehicles each time a criminal destroys their property. 🤨 Then there are also the individuals who suffer property damage when the criminals in the stolen cars crash those same cars into people's homes or businesses. 🤨 That is more time, money and energy that the hard working people have to take to try to fix what was broken or stolen. Criminals have actually broken into and stolen from small business owners who can't afford to take the hit financially. Criminals have actually broken into and stolen from food pantries and other charitable organizations that are meant to help the poor people and hard working people in the community. 🤨 And if/when criminals assault someone in the commission of their crimes, that is another financial hit that hard working people take from the medical costs, more time off of work, and possibly long term care. 🤨 It is a copout answer to point the blame strictly at the rich, when the criminals are hurting working class people just as much if not more, and then not facing the consequences of their actions and criminal behavior. 🤨 Oh, and then there is also the families of the criminals. And the financial hit they are taking as well when their family member is causing them to have to take time off of work, hire a lawyer, etc. caused by the actions and behavior of the criminals. A criminal's behavior has a ripple effect and causes a hardship on not just the victims yet their family as well. 🤨 And the broken home excuse is played out. A broken home isn't a justification for criminal behavior. Lots of people come from broken homes, yet they don't resort to stealing from others to get by or assaulting people to get what they want. 🤨
And incidentally, it isn't the rich people that are causing people to come from broken homes either. It is people not taking personal accountability and responsibility for their own actions. 🤨

honestly I would be neutral and not fight for either side cuz idc about either of their agendas they can both lose and I WOULD LAUGH AT BOTH SIDES.
If the US wins you stay the same. If Russia wins you won't have any freedoms you have now. Especially with the way you act.
Can anyone tell what russia did to america ? For few decade only america in war with multiple country. Are you saying americann leader is good clean without any agenda and covering up and doing propaganda.
Are you new to this channel? They have said many times, in different videos, that there is wrongdoing on both sides of the aisle in the US government. And they have talked about coverups before.
Next time drop the Trumper that thinks Russia only attacked Ukraine because Biden isn't scary.
Look at you assuming much and saying little. Show some respect for the guy who actually fought for this country and still does. 🤨
@@bethnichols2875 that single statement was stupid and whom else was he referring to as being strong in that comparison then? He talked about the huge growing divide we have, but had to throw in some right wing talking points to poke at the same divide. I'll thank him for his service but that doesn't mean he is infallible.
@@khetto1 And just because you don't agree with him or what he has to say doesn't mean they need to "drop" him. He is their friend and a respected service member who chose to fight for this country. Can you say the same?
@@khetto1 Btw, he said that was Russia's thought process re: Biden. He didn't say it was his own. 🤨 That "stupid" take on the statement would be yours.
@@bethnichols2875 I'm sorry you are so hurt by this.
Alot of people don't join the military for American pride. Alot of people join cause it's the last and only resort. Dont get twisted
Why did you post the same comment twice?
@@bethnichols2875 obviously it was a technical error.. you really think someone would post the same thing exactly, twice?
