1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Many of the things Paul says have existed in every age, but the magnitude of these problems in the last days was remarkably great.

A person today can - if they feel so inclined - do more damage to both themselves and to others than ever before, and in a shorter amount of time. Drugs are being produced and consumed at unprecedented highs. Cyberbullying, cybercrime and pornography are rampant - the anonymity of involvement of each brings out evil in people that was formerly inhibited by the lack of opportunity inherent in great distance. Church attendance is taking a dip. Guns are omnipresent, and shootings continue to set new records in both frequency and lethality. Governments in every part of the world - North Korea and ISIS in particular - have instituted regimes with levels of cruelty and oppression that their predecessors could only dream of. Zealots empowered by modern technology terrorize the masses in foreign lands as well as in their home countries. Invasions of privacy are more frequent and more intrusive. The moral standards of the media are at an all-time low. Pollution made possible by unchecked greed coupled with modern science is destroying the Earth at terrifying scales - including more frequent natural disasters. Things that were formerly held dear are mocked, and things that were formerly shameful are the new norm. Even things that have stayed the same since Paul's time - the income gap, the animosity between people, pride in high places and apathy towards the poor, to name a few - are more culpable today than they were in his time because we have so much more history to learn from and more tools to use, both of which are more accessible.
Of course some things are better - President Hinckley said as much many times. Medicine is better. People are more easily connected, both to each other and to sources of knowledge. It's easier to spread good messages as well as evil ones. There are members of the Church everywhere, and we're not as persecuted as we used to be. There are more temples within two hours of my house than all the temples prior to the Restoration combined, and it's like that in many places now. These are exciting times of great opportunity, aside from being perilous.
I'm grateful that God has not left us, and that we have modern-day Peters and Pauls that can lead us through these "perilous times".
Makes sense, that is why I do not trust Facebook or social media too much.

There are so many ways to break your chains. Improve a skill, work hard each day, learn. Also benefit yourself and others by focusing on them which oftentimes removes frustration, feelings of loneliness or inadequacy. Simple things like saying hello, tell your family members you love them, caring for your pets, doing chores at home, all these things, will help honor the commandments chief of which is to love God with all your might, body, and mind, and love your neighbor as yourself. I often read the Book of Mormon while lifting heavy weights. I testify that its mission that strifes, backbiting should be avoided and caring, compassion and listening to others should be emphasized by building your own skills and actively caring for others will become clearer each day and that it as a tool testifies that we are not alone but God loves us as agents in this world to choose wisely and gives us strength to obtain the help we need from others while also helping them, in Jesus' name, amen.

We were just discussing this in our Institute lesson tonight, how man will be 'without natural affection' specifically. It speaks to me that Paul used those words. I think it's easy to see examples of how mankind is without that natural affection. Love for our fellowmen is rarer every day. I speak of true love, unselfish in nature and from a divine source. Instead it is more common to seek for one's self, and deny others even their own humanity. The only consolation is that as things continue to decline in the world, we have peace, hope, joy and that true love of which I spoke, in the Gospel. By partaking of the words of ancient and modern prophets, we receive the counsel to pray always, repent of our sins daily, and make our lives in service to Jesus Christ. As we do, we are blessed by keeping his commandments with the only lasting source of hope and love: greater faith in the risen Lord, our dear Savior. May we ever find solace in his sacrifice and love for us and keep the eyes of our hearts pinned on Him who is the greatest of us all and the antithesis of the qualities written in the scriptures. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Pardon for asking, I know you wrote this a while ago, are there yet prophets of God alive today? I've heard greatly of mean men leading people astray, but a prophet alive and well in our own time would be welcome.

In the Last Days, men will be lovers of their own selves...that is for sure the narcissist/Jezebel spirit...there are articles & websites about how narcissism is increasing among young Americans...that narcissist have no emphathy, ( Satan has no emphathy )...mental health professionals do not give medication to narcissist...why give meds to Demon possessed people? I see this happening, it was at my door and it really did feel like an evil spirit...pure evil. Most are now connecting the narcissist with Satan/Demons...READ up on the narcissist, its scary, how they have the same traits as Satan.

We need to see more of Joseph Smith prophecy is of the last days. His teachings about the last days have been removed. Yes we do have the Book of Mormon but I would like to also read his personal testimony and visions about the wars.
I feel very discouraged that these have been removed from UA-cam and the internet, and I'm not sure why the church is not making it more available for us to read. 🤔
With all due respect, Mormonism is a false gospel and stands against the truth of the Gospel, Ironically Paul talks about false Gospels arising in the last days, and men following there itching ear instead of the truth of Jesus Christ. The Bible has not been corrupted, the only reason the Mormon church says the Bible is corrupt is because we find that the book of Mormon contradicts the Bible in many instances, that's why you are taught to read the Bible through the lenses of the Book of Mormon, and if any contradiction is found, it is the Bible passage that is corrupt. However that is not the case, we have historical data affirming that the main message of the word of God has been perfectly preserved; the book of Mormon, on the other hand, is a man-made myth, that has no historical support, and is the false Gospel that Jesus and the Apostles warned us about. The Mormon church preaches works based salvation whereas the bible says in
Ephesians 2:8-9
"For by grace you have been saved through faith.
And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast."
The Mormon church does not believe in the trinity but in many gods, Jesus just being another created God by the Father, which is absolute Blasphamey, and contradicts everything the Bible says. The Mormon church also believes that Jesus is the brother of Lucifer because Jesus is just another created being by the Father. The Mormon church believes that almost no one will go to Hell, but only the worst of creation (like the fallen angels and satan) Instead most people just go to the 1st heaven, which is nowhere found in the bible, in fact, it contradicts it, the bible clearly says that mankind has sinned and deserves to be doomed by a Just God because we have transgressed his law. That's the whole point of Jesus! so he can save us from eternal fire. I can go on for many more paragraphs of the heresy that the book of Mormon introduces, the main reason the Mormons believe all of this is because they are taught to read the Bible through the lenses of the Book of Mormon, However, if they are to sit down and read the Word of God, the Bible, without any lenses, but purely for what it is, it would be extremely hard to support such a blatant heresy that the Bible will be rebuking every verse you read.
Here are some verses to support my claims.
Revelation 21:8
But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.” (Notice even Liars are worthy to be sent to the lake that burns with fire and sulfur)
2 Thessalonians 1:7-9
when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might ( Notice that "those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus" will also suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, that means those that follow a false Gospel, the scripture warns us. )
John 1:1-3 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made."
These translations show that the Word was God, not “a god.” Why such blatantly different translations and, accordingly, different theologies? One starts with the Bible; the other starts from a false theology and takes that view to the Bible.
The original passage was written in Koine Greek. Following is the Westcott and Hort Greek text (1881) for John 1:1-2:
1 εν αρχη ην ο λογος και ο λογος ην προς τον θεον και θεος ην ο λογος
2 ουτος ην εν αρχη προς τον θεον
If God was the Word, as John 1:1 is literally translated, then it is no problem for the Word to have created all things. As God, He created. How could the Word be with God and God be the Word at the same time? The doctrine of the Trinity (One God, three Persons) is the solution here. The Word was with God (the Father) and God (the Son) was the Word. This understanding, consistent with the rest of Scripture, eliminates any contradiction of multiple gods. There is only one God, revealed in a plurality of Persons.
John 1:18 "No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him."
So we understand that Jesus reveals God and exists as God at the same time. There is not a contradiction between John 1:1 and John 1:18. In fact, they are amazingly consistent!
There are many more passages that can be brought all over the bible that would rebuke the teachings of the Mormon church and the Book of Mormon, however for the sake of time I have provided the most crucial points. I hope some Mormon truly reads this with an open heart and consider the truth of the Bible. Don't be deceived my friends, you can profess Jesus all you want, but if it is a false Jesus, the true Jesus will not accept you into his Kingdom.
Matthew 7:21-23 "Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness." ( workers of lawlessness include those who do not accept the true Gospel Jesus Christ, and profess another Jesus, as is evident from 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9 and many more passages.)
May the Lord Jesus Christ lead you to his truth, that is the way to eternal life, Amen!

This is the scripture verse that mentions Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. 1 Corinthians 1:2 The church of Jesus Christ is the true church. Why would you reject the church of Christ?
