Fantastic museum. Actual aircraft not surviving type. Extensive collection. Free admission. Plan on spending a whole day at least. Does not disappoint if you are interested in military aircraft history.
This museum is a MUST for anyone interested in mil' aviation, been there several times and have ticked a couple of ticks from my bucket list thanks to the staff
This museum is the real deal, best time I ever spent on vacation. Where else are you going to see actual planes from all world wars to date. Plus the Sr71 and the YF22 plus plus, oh yeah and IBM missiles one day is not enough. . One day is re
Did not mean to single you out - “B-36 never used in combat” for some reason appears in most reviews of the plane and seems to imply some sort of failure, when the B-36 was no different than other “never used” strategic nuclear bombers like the B-58, B-47, and B-50.
Good afternoon. The B-47 was not included as the museum’s displayed aircraft is an RB-47 Stratojet electronic reconnaissance aircraft and I limited to tour to planes that served as bombers. It was my decision, and you are not wrong for questioning that. As for the F-117 Nighthawk is classified as a fighter aircraft even though it was used as a bomber. You can find information on the Nighthawk in "Fighter aircraft, National Museum of the United States Air Force, enjoy a Narrated Virtual Tour" video that is on UA-cam.
You are right, but it was done intentionally. I chose to leave them out a couple bombers were used for recon or weather. I realize after that it was the wrong choice. If I remake this video, I will include all of them.
@@kennethgerlock3571 could always make another video including them nothing wrong with this video, hell I didn’t even notice other bombers missing and I go to the museum all the time lol.

I agree, but one day may not be long enough.
@@kennethgerlock3571it’s not I live 45 min away and go all the time and still see either new or stuff I’ve missed

Amen!
How the hell did you not even mention the B-47! One of the most important aircraft of it's era.
The museum's aircraft is an RB-47 reconnaissance aircraft as opposed to being a bomber.
Still Should be in there. Great Video though.@@kennethgerlock3571
Great video. I visit this museum every year. Usually two days each time.
Thank you for the compliment. I plan to go back soon.
I got to see the Belle in her restored glory in 2018. Absolutely beautiful.
Hat's off the the museum's restoration workers. They did a fantastic job.
@@kennethgerlock3571 indeed they did. I grew up watching the documentary of her 25th mission.

Nice - but why say “although never used in combat” for the B-36 but not the B-58?
Well, because that thought did not occur to me. Good point.

Where were the B47 Stratojet and the F117, the first stealth bomber?

You forgot the WB-50, unless that’s covered in another videos
