*UPDATE* @stringtension just informed me that for the last 18 years I've been wrong about the finish of my LP Studio. It's actually a NITRO finish and NOT Poly. Cheers my man.
Just bought a cherry burst studio and consider it to have 4 advantages over the Standard. 1) €1200 cheaper where I live in Italy, 2) Push/pull function, 3) Burstbucker Pro pickups over the Standard's Burstbuckers, and 4) The weight relief system (mine weighs 3.5kg or 7.7lb. Great guitar.
Absolutely great reaction AJ!!! I have a Gibson LP Studio Plus 2023 in Bourbon burst. With the 490 R and 498 T pick up s. The best point of all to me was mentioning the poker chip token. I just think it adds such visual appeal to the guitar, seems insignificant to some i suppose??? But Absolutely essential imho.
I agree that humbucker in single coil mod sound thin. However they do have their place, I actually love soloing with LP in the neck pickup single coil style.
Hey, You Were talking about Gibson Replacing The 498T and 490R Pickups in the Gibson Studio Les Pauls, And That The Burstbucker Pickups Were Better, Really?????????? Because I've Played Several Different Gibson SG's With A Few Different Types Of Gibson Burstbucker Pickups, And I Did Not Even Think That They Sounded Even Any better Than The Epiphone Probuckers, I Laughed When Comparing Them Side By Side, And The Huge Price Difference Between Gibson And Epiphone. Also You Were Saying That They Are Much Better Than The 498T and 490R Pickups, Right? Well Then Why Does Gibson Put The 498T And 490R Pickups In The Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Custom Models That Retail For Almost 4 Times More Than The Gibson Les Paul Studio. I Bet That's A Tough Question To Answer, Isn't It??????????????????????????????????
Hey Robert thanks for watching the video and comments. Yes, in my opinion, Burstbuckers and 57's pickups sound better than the 498T and 490R. This is based on my personal experience of owning and playing both for close to 20 years on my LP Studio and LP Standard. As for your comment about Epiphone pickups sounding close to Gibson, I agree! Go check out this video: ua-cam.com/video/Y4P7R1he-ec/v-deo.htmlsi=fn9q4kWMRM_q-zM9 where I did a deep dive comparison. Lastly, to answer your "tough question" why Gibson puts the 498T and 490R in some Custom Shops models, I don't know why Gibson does that. But I do know I would not buy one with those pickups in them or I would swap them like I did with my LP Studio. Have a good day my man. Cheers
@@guitarwalljams I had a Gibson Les Paul Studio in the past. I didn’t like it. I got the new (THE ONE) the 2024 reimagined. I love it. I am 68. I might never play out with it. But I am more motivated to play out now that I got a favorite Les Paul. I liked your video. Mine is black. It’s cool. I like the blueberry burst too.

The finish alone is a no go for me. Love the nitro and the way it smells when you open the case for the first time. ❤ (snifffff …… ahhh!)
LETS GO!!!!

Coil taps are fiddly and when pulled sound weak. You get more tonal options but what good are tones you don’t use!

the poker chip is in the bag 😊
Yes! Maybe Gibson watched my video 😉

@@guitarwalljams
Sweetwater. I did a bunch of videos on my channel. I live in USA was free shipping.
Gibson has never used poly on any of their models. Good video though!
For 18 years I thought it was poly! Thanks for the correction my man. Cheers
