- First spring group ride of the year! Todays ride was near Webster City in Iowa. Trails were too wet so we stuck to gravel for the day and still managed to have a ton of fun!

I was able to sneak in a few quick races with the TRX450 and Renegade 850. The TRX is bone stock and so was the Renegade. We thought the TRX race was a good comparison of the machines. I had a poor launch due to low PSI in my rear right tire for the Renegade race but it regardless the Raptor reeled it in!
Thanks to the group for having me down again! Next Iowa adventure should feature lots of trail riding and hillclimbs!

I had a friend, who got a brand new 4 wheeler for Christmas. In January he drove onto a local lake, was crossing the lake when he saw open water. He couldn't stop and broke through the ice into the lake. He was wearing a helmet and sno-suit. He was 23. His family was devastated, especially his mom. I think of him everyday. Don't drive on thin ice or try to cross open water. If your machine falters, you die.

Who needs 4X4 when you have skills
In a 4x2 Quad you can go in hard places if you are a good driver, but 4x4 helps much, and in heavy mud, you will get stuck with a 4x2 no matter your skill.

there is a sensor under the clutch handle, if you take it out it will get rid of the 5th gear restriction, lil tip for ya :)

My buddy had a Raptor 660 and I had an 03 Banshee SE. He used to get pissed when I would beat him in a drag race lol. Those new 700's are sweet though!!

I got a new 17’ Honda rubicon 500 couple months back, then I got a used 2004 Honda 400ex red edition and I ride the 400 way more than the utility style rubicon. Makes me want a new sport quad 😭

@@nathanaelhutchison43 The carbureted 660R? Considering the extra work and maintenance of carburetion, go for the 700R fuel injected one if you're looking to buy. There are plenty of reviews on the 700R Raptor when the new 686cc updated engine and frame came out.

Where did you get those plates that cover the warning labels on your quad at?
I got them off ebay. Just type in raptor 700 warning labels and you should see a set of stainless steel replacements. I had them powdercoated black

edit: I guess it just depends how you ride really, if you ride fast and really max out the power don't think you will be going to far bud
All that 700 needs now is a set of hand guards to protect those hands, and maybe a pair of headlock rims to make it look even sweeter

Hey I’m from eastern Iowa and just got a new 450r. Wondering what kind of exhaust you would recommend and any other add on parts?
Hey Nate. I asked Ritchy (the TRX rider) what he would do for mods and he said he definitely would start with exhaust. He said he would really like to do a new CDI, big bore it, and do stage 2 hot cam's if it ever needs a full rebuild. He said he's always wanted a Yoshimura exhaust because they're not overly loud unless your on the throttle hard

I could've gotten the 450 but wanted to start with the raptor. If i'm lucky enough to own another machine I would love to add a 450 to the stable. I have some older videos of me track riding my old KTM on the channel. At this point in my riding career I'm looking to rip trails and do more exploratory riding since thats where my roots are at. I've been watching ononewheel7's coverage of the GNCC series and it makes me want to do a 450 woods build!

Nice Vids man! Couple things I noticed, get rid of the stock intake ASAP. That exhaust isn't doing much without the intake, that's the biggest bottleneck on a Raptor 700. Also, start your drags in 2nd gear. BIG3 (intake, exhaust, programmer) on raptor is worth 10hp roughly!
An FCI intake will probably be the next power mod to go with hopefully a next exhaust and my power commander 5. That'll be all the power mods that will be done since I have an extended warranty for several years yet

awesome toys man! The drone adds another element for sure. I have a DJI spark and it fits in my backpack with my DSLR so its pretty convenient. I tried to get the drone out for the last bit with the water but I had no cell service in that valley

Mr. 4Wheeler it’s on my helmet! If you dig about 10 uploads back I have a short video showing the motovlog set up. I normally ride with a backpack and DSLR camera

I have the muffler and resonators deleted. It doesnt drone at all and its super cheap. I only paid a local shop $120 to Y pipe it

Definitely been thinking about the hand guards lately. I've seen some of them rippin sport 4x4's in your race coverage! I was able to hop on a scrambler 1000 for a few minutes Sunday and it was a totally different experience

How did you mount your bars?
I have the links for the handlebars and bar clamps in my video descriptions. The handlebars I have linked are the "ATV Mid" bend and are about half the height of the factory bars. If you like your factory handlebar height than your gonna want to get the "Raptor Bend"

That license plate bracket came with the factory with the machine. I would assume your local yamaha dealer could order one. I dont know if the new 450R comes with that bracket though. I would check the dealer

10 psi front 7 psi rear
I'm normally running around 5-6 psi front and rear. I like my tires a little softer

@@rayscyclesrepairs3516 lol my right rear was low that day or I would've done more wheelies. I had the fronts at 6 pounds and thought the rears were at 6 but must have read my gauge incorrectly on one tire. High speed slides on gravel are the best!
Yeah Pete I’m not much for getting them all hopped up like that but. On behalf of that I would like an after market exaust for it and from what you’ve had on your quads...not sure if you’ve ever had a 450 But I wouldn’t mind some advice on it from you
The closest i've had to a 450 was my old KTM 525. if I were to get a 450 I would start with the exhaust mainly because I like the sound lol. I would definitely change out the stock handlebars just because I like the look of aftermarket handlebars with a bar pad. One mod I've always wanted was a steering stabilizer! I think that would be great to try, I may get one for my Raptor this summer to help with rider fatigue. I've always wanted to try a machine with nice aftermarket shocks. They're definitely an expensive investment but I think it would totally change the riding experience. A lot of the time modifications are dictated by your riding style and terrain. If your tracking your 450 regularly I would definitely invest in handling mods. Most 450's are geared a little lower so you can always up the gear ratio by jumping a tooth with the front sprocket or dropping a few teeth with the rear sprocket. I did this with my KTM to stretch out my lower gears and increase top end speed. A lot of my Raptor modifications are cosmetic. I like to keep the engine pretty stock because once you modify things the chances increase for other parts to break.

I have the handlebars and bar clamps linked in my video description. They're the Pro Taper Contour and I have them in the "ATV Mid" bend. I'm about 5'10 and I actually wanted the bars to be lower than the factory bars. They're probably half the height. If you like your stock bar height then you would want the Raptor bend or "ATV High" (I do think the Raptor bend is the tallest) You also need the oversized bar clamps since it's a fat bar. I have both parts linked in my video descriptions
