Simon - just curious - at 5:29 there's a large reflection at the top of that distant hill (top of scope frame) - is that a sign reflecting the IR torch beam? Great video as always - thanks for sharing!
Hi Simon. I'm hoping to upgrade my night vision scope soon. What would you prefer or recommend between the Hikmicro Apex 4k and the infra TD70l v2, Now that you have used both. Thanks
Another cracking video Simon. I admire your efforts in attempting to educate the “green city types”. In my country / state, the fox is an introduced species, public enemy number 1, and the government pays $10 AU for everyone I put on the ground. Your videos provide invaluable information / methodology on dealing with the problem. Cheers and thanks again.
There's a time and a place for all creatures but the fox isn't either in this case. I know for sure if there was another way to solve the problem you would take it on board. Now the sheep can get busy having their family without any worries. Thank you Simon once again an excellent job done to perfection.
Great filming again, like you I’m a drone pro 10x man I’ve had for over 10yrs. I’ve went to HIKMICRO sq50 a year ago and love it but for clarity at distance can’t beat drone. I’ve ordered a Alpex lrf before I left to come on holiday 4 week ago but almost over and straight back into lambing so my jet lag will help. What do you make of drone pro v alpex? I’m only getting it for ballistic turret/ rangefinder to try and eliminate something else I’m carrying
The Alpex beats the Drone in every way Cameron apart from one thing and that's picture quality at like 200 yards at night as the Drone is fixed at 10x and to be fair any NV which can zoom in or out i don't think will ever match it because of this, saying this the Alpex sees good enough though with all the modern up grades so for me makes a brilliant NV.
Nice job bud..always akward when filming at same time..I have the same set up as you with the Drone Pro and the yukom mpr..lost count how many times I have missed my chance faffing turning everything on and getting comfy.
I never understand those that want to protect coyotes, feral cats and foxes yet express no interest in protecting ground nesting birds. Odd that. Thank you for your unwavering professionalism.
Great shooting as always Simon,I know you use the pbir ir is it the best you’d recommend or is there money no object another compact one you would?I’m using the sniper hog coyote cannon but it weighs the same as a cannon 😂
What’s the mod you’ve got on the .223? I’m looking for a new one for my Winchester xpr .223 and I like the look of the one you’ve got. Great video btw👌
Great job simon, some footage from the alpex 4k,hik micro should be giving you a few bob...😉just wondering though, not sure how long you have the 4k lrf but do you know if the lrf box always follow the splash of the rangefinder or does it have to be adjusted to have bith to line up.im curious to know this for when im selecting the different profiles when switching between rifles which would be zero'd to the set profile, sound 🇮🇪
Ye Richard different rifles have different zero settings but the splash always follows the tiny square box it being above the cross or below the cross depending on the zero of the rifle where it is at the time if that makes sense.
Fair play simon, thanks for the reply. It does make sense and being hones i was hopeing it would,it would be a disaster if not,at least then you would know exactly where the range distance is at all times especially during daylight .I have the pard DS35 and you have to manually adjust the lrf box to the splash, although the DS35 doesn't look a patch of the quality of the new Alpex 4k lrf.I think I shall have to he doing a bit more overtime for a new toy. Thanks again simon, your videos are savage, firstly you got me hooked on the .223 shooting now I think the fx king is after passing it out,👍🇮🇪
Lol ye the Alpex 4K is brilliant so far i just like every thing about it so i am getting another now to put on an air rifle as the LRF one is now on my 6ppc, and ye the King! that rifle i have not used it yet in anger come Spring on the crows it should be brilliant.
Great shooting again Simon, can I ask Simon when you zoom in with the Alpex across the fields is it as pixelated through the scope view as it seems to be with the recorded footage? Thanks for the video
Thanks for sharing Simon. Can see why you go the stainless barrels over there. Over 40 degrees C here and no rain for months. I had a pair killing lambs together here in my first thermal/ night gear season and got both like you have here. Never do that with a spotlight. I cant use a moderator here but they still don't know where the shot has come from.
Amazing as usual Simon! I saw the second fox run after the first shot, I didn't think you would be able to get that one! Silly me I will NEVER second guess Simon6ppc's abilities again! 💪💪💪💪👍👍😀😀

Before you shot the first fox you could clearly see the mist rolling through the area through the scope. Impressive. When you shot the first fox, one ran off in the background. Is that the second one you shot or was the second one a different fox a little later?
Hi Simon, Again, super shooting over such huge distances, and although fine animals, the devastation to wildlife just has to be controlled. If the moaners and do-gooders were affected in the same way as the Foxes affect the ground nesting birds or people who wake up one morning and find all their chickens dead but none eaten, they'd soon button it. Thank you for your insight and showing us what you do and your kit. Take care. Ps. One thing the film doesn't show is how cold it must be out there. Do you have handwarmers? I have battery rechargeable ones that I find work really well with a good charge time on them.
Great video Simon and excellent shooting on the 2 foxes and considering the conditions I think that the video turned out pretty good. I just happened to catch the 2nd come running from the left side after you took the shot on the first one. Great shooting on the rat's as well. Cheers Simon and give Jack a pat for me
