I live in an HOA community. I have a family of Mascovy ducks living in the pond across the street since I've lived here. 6 years. I live in FL. These Mascovy have become my family. I recognize them individually now, we gave them names and when they're not in the pond they spend the day and evening at my house. We have planted large plants that go in a circle as a safe perimeter for them to sleep and relax. I give them fresh water and food. We currently have 3 males and 2 females. The 2 girls we've named Becky and Iris. I saw them mating for days on my patio. The girls left for a while so I knew they were sitting on their eggs. The youngest male one of the fathers out of the 3 males also disappeared with the 2 females. The 2 grandpa's who never leave eachothers side, were at my house in living area in my bushes all day. I started to realize the 2 grandpa's would leave early evening and then the younger male who my daughter named Starmoon would come eat and rest for awhile. I realized the males were taking shifts watching the Mommy ducks and babies. One day Becky brought her babies to my patio I believe for her to show them to me. She stayed on my patio with them for 2 whole days, only leaving at night to be with her family of ducks. Becky had 11 babies. She didn't come back after the 2nd day so I walked the length of the pond and found where she was nesting with them and never leaving that spot. I also realized Iris was on the opposite side of the pond as she had 7 babies. They were much younger than Becky's. Here's my dilemma and would greatly appreciate advice and direction. I love these ducks. For the 6 years I've been here none of the babies survive. NONE! there are 2 big blue heron that stalk them and each stand at the end of the pond and the other one at the beginning of the pond. Plus we have alot of Hawks in this area. I would go to any lengths to keep them safe. Becky's 3 remaining ducks now are getting a decent size. But last night she was down to 5 out of 11. This Morning she has 3. What can I do to help these 3 remaining babies? I live in HOA community with guide lines. I'd like to capture the 3 teens from Becky and raise them until they are big enough to be set free. I don't know how I'm going to be able to catch them? I can walk out in the water only so far before it gets deep, and I worry about getting some amoeba since it's common around FL. I really fear tomorrow, there will be no babies left for Becky or Iris. When I saw Iris had ducklings she had 7. Last night there were 6 and this morning 3. Becky 11 babies last night down to 5 this morning she had 3. So 5 babies eaten in 1 night. I'm scared to even look tomorrow. Please help me 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Your videos always make my heart happy. I actually laughed out loud when Isaiah stuck the whole piece of watermelon in his mouth at once.. Juice went everywhere. And at one point Jake said let's run down to the pond and Isaiah actually started toward the pond.. such a cute kid. Have a great weekend
your videos always make me smile. just a few days ago i lost a few ducks and wild goose i was rehabilitating. the goose was in miserable shape, had exposed bone on his left leg (missing a foot) and severe head trauma. He right leg was severely necrotic and his left wing was broken. we managed to get him all fixed up and stable and he was going to go into surgery the next morning but passed in his sleep. the ducks were also severely injured with similar injuries. we think they'd been hit by a boat out on the park's lake. watching your birds and seeing how happy and healthy and safe they are made the soreness of losing those boys and girls less painful
That watermelon looks so good, Becky is looking fantastic after having the baby, and you little one has gotten so big, I love your family so much, your friends ChuckandMax
I just want to say, I recently found your guys’ channel and I cannot stop watching! your family is so sweet and I love all of your animals on your farm 💓 I have 5 chickens of my own and I especially love your chicken videos along with your bee videos 🤪 and Bamboo is so cute Keep it up!! I’ll never stop watching :D
The ducks looked so happy and I loved following them around the pond. You could all have your own personal watermelon. That sounds just about right to me.
Your 2 oldest are becoming young men U guys have a beautiful family i can see Isaiah being the big brother for your daughter she's a little jewel congratulations to you all
I’m just so glad they made it affordable cos I could never afford to pay the high price of omelette etc I’ve just ordered one but will be ordering a few more so each of my coops has one ♥️👍🐓🦆
Congrats on 800,000! I can't believe you're surprised. This is such a fun, interesting, loving channel. I appreciate all of the hard work you guys go through to share your lives with us, your loving fans!
Something I learned just today, when a watermelon has those tan scabby looking marks on them it’s a good sign that they are sweet. It’s sugar leaching out of the melon. Seen some one the one you showed in the garden.
I blend up a bunch of watermelon, fresh lime juice and fresh peppermint leaves. It's an absolutely delicious drink. If I have a lot, I'll freeze some of it but I always add maple syrup because you lose some of the sweetness somehow when you freeze it. You may be able to try putting some of your honey in it. Let me know if you try it and if you like it and if the boys like it
I cannot believe it's already been a year. I've been watching this channel since you guys were at the old house. It's crazy to see how far your family has come!
When I first watched you i watched another and another and then nearly a years worth of your videos. They are so interesting and i especially like the bees.
Here in Serbia, we have only one Hockbill ducks raiser and they are extrimly expensive and rare. Respect for this, you guys are helping indangerd breed!
That sure is a beautiful group of ducks! Nice variety of colors. You do have a way with your videos maybe someday you could make a movie, bet you could.
Your boys seem to help willingly do you think they will come a day when they don’t want to help I think it’s amazing what you do and what you’re teaching them
gday all the way from Australia. we have some ducks and just incubated some chicken eggs thanks to your family 👌 we had a fox attack during daylight hours few months back. got a few geese and they havnt been touched since. good alert system aswell 😁
Not sure about the really intense blur. It almost looks false. BUT I appreciate all the effort you put into the vlogs and if this is what you prefer then so be it! :)
You always make me happy specially when theres new hatch chicks on your farm .. someday i will buy other eggs to have many breeds in my backyard .. Im jhane from philippines 🙂
Have you tried raising your own worms and insects for your chickens or fishing? If you don't have a compost pile already I recommend setting one up. As for breeding insects if you have or find a few boxes (plastic or wood, or none rusting metal can work) have a few holes at the bottom for drainage and you'll have isolated for the most part worms and or insects of your choice with whatever you feed em (egg shells, coffee grounds, leftovers if the pigs don't want em, newspapers best shredded as layers, etc) and leave em alone other then throwing some stuff out every now and then. Of course you don't have to do these, its just a good idea if you wanted to save some money on rich soil (once its been processed) and one or 2 meals (depending on how much you plan to set up) for the chickens and other birds live treats every now and then.
That animal that broke in is called a Saruê in Brazil. I didn’t know they were common in the US too. They’re basically skunks but without the smelly part, they’re not harmful to humans (they actually help us by eating venomous snakes and spiders) but they do eat chickens and ducks. I’m sorry you had to go through that. What an amazing video!
I went from having 23 chickens to none. We thought we had gotten rid of the problem, but never thought it was 3 possi. Construction is over the top here, so they moved themselves onto the property. Planning on getting more chickens before the end of the year.
This was a great video today. Thank you for sharing your family daily chores and playtime with us. Can’t you build a little “mother-in-law” guest room and rent it out for a week for an experience on a farm?

I didn't know run-chicken was a Slovenian company until I saw the logo. It's so suprizing to see my countries product's being used around the world.
It made me laugh so hard when I saw our country's shape on it xD
It is a great design. I like fair trade.
That's probably why it doesn't have strings - they know how to deal with the cold!

Sometimes when the melon is super sweet, you’ll find bee stingers stuck in the outside of them because the bees can smell the sugar inside
