To be 100% honest Jacob, I don't even play D&D and I still keep coming back to watch your content, I think you're just generally a funny guy. Anyone who fault you for that is just unreasonably jaded. I personally look forward to more D&D content from you in the future. Rock on

I will still watch practically any and all D&D content you produce. The game is fun.
I agree completely, we can express frustration with WOTC without abandoning the parts of DnD they have no part in. If anything I think it works in our advantage to remind them that we have leverage.
In the end it boils down to 5e effectively being the final version of D&D. No one will be able to officially sell new content without potentially supporting WotC, the whole OneDND thing is going to be locked behind D&DBeyond paywalls, etc. Just playing 5e independently now is pretty much going to be piracy, which is rad. As much as I think it's safer to just throw the whole thing out, since IMO they lost the right to have any sort of community, I can understand that there're people a bit more attached than me. Jacob, I love you, man. No matter what happens I'm coming back to watch the stuff you put out. Our home games have definitely benefitted from your stuff, and you're an all around cool guy.
Would be happy to see you branch out more! There's a huge world of tabletop out there outside of just D&D I'd love to see your takes on. In general, I think you're funny and tend to make really good points about the things you discuss, so I'd be happy to see you apply that pretty much anywhere.
Agreed! I'm a big pathfinder fan, so seeing him even try it out would be really fun. I came for D&D, but now that I've inched towards pathfinder I stay for the great content he gives.

You got this man. Remember it's not D&D it's self everyone is mad at it's the people in charge of it. So make that D&D content man it's always amazing. Plus you can always do some stuff about older editions as well. Love the videos about the 3.5 monsters
Love your channel. Fun, positive, witty. I don’t really want to pick up another actual play right now, but I keep up with everything else you put out. I’ll keep watching
I’m glad you’re being so positive in light of the… situation in the fan base. There are so many content creators I love to watch that are spewing negativity that is 100% justified, but It still has made it difficult for me and others to really pay attention to what we love(dnd/ttrpgs in general now), so you being positive in light of everything is a breath of fresh air that is most welcome!
Don't apologize, my friend! We all need some positivity right now and at the moment I am hoping to provide me and my friends a bit of that positivity with tonight's session. It's gonna be crazy. Boss fight time! WOO! Nearing the end of one of my major campaign arcs, finally! Edit: Also I personally think it is totally cool if you wanted to upload the lowest rated homebrew thing. In my eyes you're not supporting DNDBeyond just by making a video about community content that happens to be shared on their website. We all love those videos (Especially me, I think they're hilarious) and I'm sure we would all want to see it uploaded.
There's being positive and there's being ignorant. People were talking about and warning people about Hasbro and WOTC's for months before this shit happened and this dude - one of the biggest D&D creators on the platform - openly mocked and ridiculed them in his videos. Then everything they were warning people about happened, and this dude has the gall to act like the people saying "I told you so" are the problem? No apology, No "I was wrong", but "i'M tRyInG tO kEeP pOsItIvE"? Fuck off.
@@Helldog6 Dude, stfu. Most DND creators were worrying if they would still have a job by the end of the week. If they want to focus on something or make content aside from worrying about what WOtC is doing right now, let 'em. They are not obligated to answer to anyone, even if they might have brushed off the warnings. There's more important things for DND creators to worry about right now, and currently we're all on the same page. If you want to be an a**hole, go rant about it at WOtC or Hasbro and leave everyone else alone, 'cause all you're doing is practically begging for people to block and ignore you.
I appreciate you being upfront about the disaster that the new OGL turned out to be, and while you decided to keep making D&D content, if you ever want to start showing other systems I would love to hear your opinions! especially similar D&D games like Pathfinder 2e and I guess Fantasy Age? (that's another one I heard a lot in the past few days)
I'm here for whatever you wanna do, Jacob. I appreciate every D&D content creator and what they're all going through right now. Make whatever you want to make. I'm confident in your decisions, and I'm still gonna watch. Thank you.
I always come back to this channel not because of dnd; but because the good times and fun! I’d love to see new content no matter what it is! Enjoy the content! Hope everything works out well :3
The fact everyone just assumes everyone else is going to just drop D&D completely is just crazy. I’m glad to see someone finally acknowledged that not everyone can just drop D&D like that. Best of luck to you.
Yeah, I love DND do my plan is either sail the seven seas or just not get new official content. I have nothing against playing it, though it is totally an excuse to eventually try other systems - if my group even were actively playing lol.
Fun fact: you can't copyright rules to games. Someone else can make precisely the same game with different names and maybe different lore, or you could just continue to play with the stuff you have, and not get new stuff
Bro you're great, whatever you wanna do man just do you, one of the greatest creators on here in the ttrpg space, even if a video/skit doesn't hit for me I still respect it.
I would totally watch a 2-hr video on attack on titan from you dude!! Really appreciate you being clear on your stance with the whole situation at the beginning of the video. I too will still play dnd, just not support dnd beyond :) so I will enjoy any dnd videos you continue making. Thanks so much for all your content thus far!!
I honestly would love to see you bring more content on other manuals than dnd, more than videos about poorly written homebrews. There are so many settings so well done that very little is talked about. Let's support good gdr.
Hey man, I love your content and skits!!!! You’re genuinely a funny fella, funny enough to really do whatever and as long as you’re happy with it I’m sure we will be too. We really appreciate all you’re doing, thanks for the clarity and transparency on your stance on the current controversy. We love ya man, keep being you!!!!
I'm a french viewer, I don't get almost 30-50% of the references because i don't know much about D&D, I don't even know why there is trouble about D&D recently but I come very often watch, rewatch and laugh with your skits and videos. You are really good in your art!
My dude we are here to watch you. Doesn't matter if its D&D or whatever random fuckery you decide to create for us. You are so creative and put so much enthusiasm and passion you put into every video that the content is always entertaining be it skits, reactions, or just you talking. We love you and love what you do for us so just keep doing you. Looking forward to where the next year takes the channel!
Your videos are always amazing and to be honest, i never came to your channel for DND stuff specifically, it was just the medium that you put your directing and comedial talent through, so whatever you create, i dont doubt that most, if not all of us will continue to watch it
I’ve never commented before, but I feel like this is needed. Last year my partner and I began playing in dnd campaigns. Shortly after we found your page, and you have been both incredibly helpful and hilarious. We love your videos and I look forward to your new creations! Thank you for existing ❤😊
You’re my favorite account for dnd out here. I’m sorry that it’s been rough for you for the past few months but you and your friends and family have wonderful personalities that can certainly help in taking your content in the next direction. Best of luck!
How about a video series on different and interesting systems for TTRPGs? Also, as far as your content, let me put it this way- I don't blame people for continuing to play their current dnd games. So I won't blame creators for continuing to upload stuff related to D&D. Of course, voicing your support for open dnd to make sure nobody gets the message wrong is probably a good move for a while.
Been watching you long before I started playing D&D and will continue to do so no matter what kind of content you make on here :) I'm looking into other Systems the shitshow over the last few weeks just gave the last little push. Hope this year gets better than you might expect right now
I like how honest you were about all of this. A lot of channels were very bold in their statements about changing their content to other systems, but I really don't believe they'll follow up with that, even though I would really like if they did (look, I'm tired of D&d and Wotc). You at least admitted that that's not truly viable to you, and that's perfectly valid, you're more than just your content, you're an very talented creator.
1:34 You can also try making review/showcase content of smaller, more indie fantasy systems in a similar vein to D&D, but which don't use d20. Like Tiny d6.
The first meme was so amazing. I was so confused as to why there was ausome art work and nothing else. Then the text was shown and I felt like someone had just cast Tasha’s hideous laughter on me.
Perhaps to give yourself a little bit of insurance, continue the D&D content, and have a video on occasion where you look at fantasy video games, do skits about that, etc, in the midst of your usual content. That way if worst came to worst, you'd have an easier time finding new footing - plus it'd give you a variety of stuff to do which I know is nice as a UA-camr.
EHRM ACK-CHEWALLY Mishra kinda stayed young forever because Phyrexia made him a robot man. But in all seriousness, I'm really glad to see you doing something positive despite all the negativity. Being a D&D fan (and someone who will continue to play D&D, I'm not letting Hasbro ruin this for me) has been rough these last weeks, and I've been worried for creators like you. I hope whatever happens you keep having this as a vector for your tremendous creativity, and skies above know we could all use your help finding laughter every once and a while. ... And you're goddamn right I'd watch a 2 hour video essay on AOT. That shit sounds Dingo.
I've always found how earnest you are and your sense of humor to be the primary draw of your channel - yes, I love the D&D content and that's the majority, but you and your friends are more than funny enough as-is; I'm sure you'll be fine doing other things when and if you feel that need to do it. ♥ So yes, give me two hours of Attack on Titan. Please.
I’m glad you’re holding true to Dungeons and Dragons. I dread the upcoming days when D&D is replaced with TTRPG for just always. It’s gonna really bug me. It really shouldn’t matter.
@@marqfarland9733 Wizards of the Coast tried to sneak an extremely unfair Open Gaming License that would take money and a whole bunch of not good stuff and people are starting to back away from D&D
The video is fun, but also your hair is freaking awesome in it. 10/10 hair day. If I woke up and my hair looked like that, I'd probably film a year's worth of videos ASAP before the magic vanished.
I don't usually comment on videos of any kind but I just want to say thank you for making some of my favorite content on UA-cam in general. You've helped me a lot in my ttrpg journey and always put a smile on my face. No matter what the topic is about I look forward to seeing what you make in the future. 💙
Switch to pathfinder! 1e is just D&D 3.75 and 2e is a nice mid ground between the massive bookkeeeping and ganularity of 3.5 and the "pick 3 things and that's it" of 5e. Also, 2e's crit system is really cool.
Even if you shift from DnD, people will follow. We are here for you and your friends rather than solely the game you play. Be that Pathfinder, DnD or anything else I am sure you will bring people together.
Dude, I enjoy the videos you make due to the fun, humour and energy you put into them. Whether it's TTRPGs or other media I think I'll enjoy your videos because you strive to make them fun for your fans. I hope you're feeling better about everything soon bud!
Sorry to hear the last few weeks have been tough. I just got my copy of the Quesonomicon, and it looks amazing! Your doing really cool stuff and I'm glad you're around.
I would totally love to see more of these. Your friends and family are cursed and its amazing. More Try Not to Laughs would be a great edition going forward, even if it's just cursed memes and a little dnd meme mixed in. 🤣
I will gladly watch anything you put out, I do love the dnd content, but I super enjoy watching a Chanel transition to a state of what the creature wants to do. :) Follow your dreams, and I hope you have a great day :)!
I would 100% watch a 2 hour AOT video!!! Also i can't believe I didnt find your channel until a month ago. You are a fantastic content creator and i truly hope you continue to grow!
Thank you for being so honest and sharing regarding the state of DnD. I am also trying to be positive and it really helps to see a creator like you trying too.❤
Honestly, you’re such an entertaining gem of a person that I think even if you switched up the type of content you were making, it would still be enjoyable. That said, obviously, TTRPG is your main focus, and while you have mostly been doing DND, I would love to learn about other systems from you. Plus, I am hopeful that things in the D&D community will calm down, even though you are correct that I think a lot of the goodwill that has been built up has been irreversibly damaged, But as a community, I think we could all come together and still enjoy the things we enjoy, even if the way we enjoy them ends up having to change. Keep on doing what you’re doing, we got your back
I respect the hell out of you for your stance and hope for the past time that is meant to bring joy not division. Pls dont let this hinder your content. I for one look forward to every vid.
I think most people watch your stuff for you. You're an entertaining guy, and no matter what you choose to branch out to, you'll always have a viewer base. I've never been that into dnd in particular, but I have played a lot of CRPGs like Pathfinder: Wrath of The Righteous, so i more or less get the humor anyway. Whatever you choose to do in the future, I look forward to it and genuinely wish you all the best.
I am glad that Jacob is making his stance open, and I respect that he can't just abandon months of planned content because someone on a big chair decided to light their hair on fire. I appreciate that he wants to do a wider variety of content and I know that sometimes it won't be for me, but I do hope that means that when his content IS for me, it hits that much harder. I really do just hope he finds a niche and gets to settle in like he has for years so he can support his family. Now that I've said all of the important things, I also have to add that I'm glad "poopen and farden" really got us both.
Don't you worry Jacob I don't watch very often but every time I have you've always come off as a super open understanding guy. So I'm more than okay continuing to support you even if d&d is a bit wonky right now you more than earned that loyalty
Do not apologize for being positive, there's enough negativity already. Just know that we appreciate you being a light in the darkness.

I could watch 2 hours of you reading spells. I would love a structured video essay from you, and probably watch it 6 times.
Oh boy if you like video essays then my cringy, fat furry fart art commissioner, shitlord boi PYROCYNICAL is the guy for you!
I really like a lot of the ideas in 13th Age. I would like to hear his opinions on it as well.
Dnd is my favorite system. This whole thing has me conflicted
But you can, DnD is just a brand. He makes money off a genre and his creativity, not a brand!
@@nightstar6179 feel free to play it man. Just don't support the company if anything
I love to see my favorite dnd youtubers branch out!
Love your content and sense of humor. You make your stuff, and I'll watch it.
❤️ means a lot
Needed this 🤣 Thankyou for the positivity ❤️
You’re my favorite account for dnd out here. I’m sorry that it’s been rough for you for the past few months but you and your friends and family have wonderful personalities that can certainly help in taking your content in the next direction. Best of luck!
How about a video series on different and interesting systems for TTRPGs? Also, as far as your content, let me put it this way- I don't blame people for continuing to play their current dnd games. So I won't blame creators for continuing to upload stuff related to D&D. Of course, voicing your support for open dnd to make sure nobody gets the message wrong is probably a good move for a while.
Been watching you long before I started playing D&D and will continue to do so no matter what kind of content you make on here :)
I'm looking into other Systems the shitshow over the last few weeks just gave the last little push.
Hope this year gets better than you might expect right now
Never thought Jacob's sense of humor is 10x worse than mine but here we are
You go king
I like how honest you were about all of this. A lot of channels were very bold in their statements about changing their content to other systems, but I really don't believe they'll follow up with that, even though I would really like if they did (look, I'm tired of D&d and Wotc). You at least admitted that that's not truly viable to you, and that's perfectly valid, you're more than just your content, you're an very talented creator.
1:34 You can also try making review/showcase content of smaller, more indie fantasy systems in a similar vein to D&D, but which don't use d20. Like Tiny d6.
Jacob got me with the gollum meme. After that, I was way more willing to accept the cringe and laugh. :)
The first meme was so amazing. I was so confused as to why there was ausome art work and nothing else. Then the text was shown and I felt like someone had just cast Tasha’s hideous laughter on me.
I would definitely watch a 2 hour attack on titan vid from you
Keep on rocking Jacob! It's not easy, and doing your own fun (positive) thing is always good
I loved this video ! Thank you for your positivity
So yes, give me two hours of Attack on Titan. Please.
Good for you man! Stay positive.
This was exactly what I needed this morning.
EDIT
Also, I was 100% with you on the "MY PANT" point.
0:18 The new OGL changes aren't as good as they seem, they still have predatory tactics in the wording.
I would be VERY VERY curious to see what a 2 hour AoT video essay would look like from you of all channels.
I’m glad you’re holding true to Dungeons and Dragons. I dread the upcoming days when D&D is replaced with TTRPG for just always. It’s gonna really bug me. It really shouldn’t matter.
Can You explain what's happening, i'm not into d&d stuff, i just watch this guy for fun
Woah, man. Usually i don't quite like you, but you do good content. Your point of view in the start seriously changed my mind about you. Keep up!
Thank you for legit content in these dark times that brightened my day immensely.
Watching the blood run into your face while you try not to laugh is so enjoyable 😂
Be positive. You earned it.
I think I started crying halfway through this. I was breathless with laughter. Your friends are a treat.
Thank you for your openness and integrity. We all must operate in the system that we live in. I look forward to any and all of your future content
Jacob: thinks all his friends are funnier than him
Also Jacob: *"FIREBALL!"*
Even if you shift from DnD, people will follow. We are here for you and your friends rather than solely the game you play. Be that Pathfinder, DnD or anything else I am sure you will bring people together.
Your channel is one of the first ones I thought about. You guys make good funnies so I'll probably check out whatever you upload
Dude, I enjoy the videos you make due to the fun, humour and energy you put into them. Whether it's TTRPGs or other media I think I'll enjoy your videos because you strive to make them fun for your fans.
I hope you're feeling better about everything soon bud!
Just go to 3:45
Sorry to hear the last few weeks have been tough. I just got my copy of the Quesonomicon, and it looks amazing! Your doing really cool stuff and I'm glad you're around.
Si, el Quesonomicó
I started watching ur videos when I was 11 and it got me into dnd. It’s been 5 years and I just want to say thank you.
I would totally love to see more of these.
Your friends and family are cursed and its amazing. More Try Not to Laughs would be a great edition going forward, even if it's just cursed memes and a little dnd meme mixed in. 🤣
Happy to support you whether it's about D&D, another system or whatever!
Keep up the good work Jacob! You're my absolute favorite tabletop UA-camr! I adore your skits!
I dont know about everyone else but I'd love to watch a 2 hour video essay of you going over AOT. That sounds freaking awesome.
