I have this boost controller for 1 year, the only thing I miss is a switch/button that you can quickly change the boost pressure. The way it is you need to press and hold the two face buttons to change pressure, not the best way while driving.
That’s awesome that thing cuts boost is the engine is running outside of its normal air/fuel ratio. Talk about getting bad gas this is the best way to protect your engine from that scenario.
This is a great video , but I was just looking for clarification on the the active spring pressure when you indicated that once it’s set you will see the duty cycle % consistent everytime your in boost . Are you referring to too see the duty % every time it’s in boost at the weight of the spring pressure (eg 14lb spring makes 11psi set at 8.5psi active pressure) ? I see the duty % consistently working at that set pressure or should it be working at the start of boost ?
Thanks for the great video, and product. I've been lowering and lowering the active pressure, but can't get the WG duty to increment. It just displays 28% or nothing. Is this a firmware thing, a low amount of duty, or do i need the active pressure even lower.
It case anyone else is wondering on what I posted above, I've now worked it out. If you have 0% gain, you see your set WG% when it kicks in with no increment. If you have gain, first you see the WG value, then it increments as per your gain %.
I would like to ask you how does the boost controller control the mixture ? is it connected to the ecu or it is equipped with a regulator that control the intaked air to the manifold ? what is its efficiency in performing engine ? what is the deference that I will see if I use your product ? hope to answer me in details regards
@@krazyd27 I bought a new gauge from them recently. I just found the video with no response on a product that they sell and expect consumers to buy to have zero response from 2 years ago. That in itself is telling.
@@damnitdang i love it my standalone runs off a separate wideband but I have a second wideband installed on the boost controller so i watch boost+afr on the same gauge. You can also setup boostcut and a afr cut so you dont overboost or run to lean under wot.. its awesome bro.... you just have to play with it a little bit. But set your wg% first then start messing with the gain.
The solenoid (gauge controlled pressure gate going to your waste gates) will be fed by whatever is just in front of your Throttle Body. So the boost pressure from both turbos are combined by this point, and you only need one solenoid and one SCG-1 system. I hope this helps! The turbos are linked together by the point that this system does anything
Boost controller is junk and get your money back on it. They cant explain what to do to accurately troubleshoot. Worked fine for around 8 months. If you are a racer and make money racing, this is going to cost you some money. MAP and o2 go crazy after a while of ownership. Highly advise to do your research. And good luck if you contact their technical support staff if your lucky enough that they even acknowledge you. I will not buy another innovate product or recommend due to their poorly run technical support department. You will be more happier with a eboost controller.
Best explanation I have seen about this particular boost controller! Thanks

What software/hardware are you using right there to log your boost and duty cycle?
Innovate logworks
What is the "out" pigtail coming out of the display used for? I can't find anything on that.

it does not control mixture. It controls boost pressure, with afr cut built in. It also has a rpm shift led bulb too.
with a twin set up do you set the active pressure by adding together both the waste gate spring sizes
The shift light sometimes comes on , long before the rpm limit i have set. Any idea why?
Where does power come from on dash gauge? After a little engine work mine has no power.
Nice clean easy system.. But please cut the music!
I have an older version of this boost controller do i need to update the firmware?
mhmm a Year later and @InnovativeMotorsports Hasn't replied SMH so much for support.

Tech support inquiries on a UA-cam video probably won't get very far.

Boost is set to 14psi.. spring is a 12lbs..
Going into boost.. once I hit around 13psi. It starts dropping off to 10psi. . What's the deal?
Raise the gain% gradually until it holds the set psi you want all the way to redline..
I had the same problem
@@dsmred6575 thanks! Imma try it once I redo some wires... how you like the gauge so far? I'm looking into the perfect tuning gauge for my next build

How do you get the ethanol % to come up on the Display
Ethanol % isn't in this device.
Can you use only one SCG-1 for a twin turbo set up or do you need two?

Can I tune my engine with the scg1 boost controller ?!!!
It will tune boost, but I Don't think it will tune fuel
