My grandmother used to make something pretty similar to this as a cold remedy, it's effectiveness as a cold remedy was questionable at best, but it was a very potent cure against sobriety. Congratulations on the marriage mr and mrs mushroom.
Divine divinity was my childhood. I must have played that for over 10,000 hours at the least. My first true game beside spy fox, and freddy fish growing up. I played it everyday before I started school, and then when I first went into school; I would play it after school. I played this game every damn day for hours on end. I know every bug, exploit, every class, every spell, the best ways to make the most money. Where to go to get the most xp. This game, was, is, and forever will be my childhood. I am sad so few remember divine divinity, but love (un)original sin
Congratulations on the knife! I mean the marriage. Please read up on how to take care of such a beautiful thing! The knife, not the lady. (Like don't cut on a wooden board, don't cut on stoneware, don't subject it to knives' hell aka dulling dishwasher of doom etc.)
Here's one for ya: Well-Done Steak from Monster Hunter. Bonus challenge: use game meat like deer or buffalo, because there is no beef in Monster Hunter and since pigs are a vital pet and not food, no pork.
If you wabt to do this a little better you can add other spice that i personally consider vital spices. Black pepper corns, cinnamon sticks (try to get your hands on real cinnamon from Ceylon cinamomum zylanicum (sp) and not the regular "cinnamon" which isnt cinnamon but cassia real cinnamon is more gentle and doesnt have quite the kick of cassia so it melds well with these other flavors) stir in grated whole nutmeg (maybe half a teaspoon worth or less that 5g and make sure to get some cloves in with the cinnamon and then some grains of paradise and dried whole cayenne peppers. This will have a larger flavor profile than what he did. But thats the beauty of the internet, see something awesome, then build off it. If you add spices that ground and dried, directly i'd personally recommend running it through a cheese cloth or something after the five minutes, any flavor they impart would have already happened at that point.
Hah, I use pepper in my grog and glühwein as well. And some cloves would be a nice addition to the spices list, as you mentioned. Really cool to see that I've thought this drink out on the same note as someone else... I've actually came to check out the amount of juice I should use, so thanks for the video. Will try mix with brandy in 2:1, 1:1 and 1:2 to determine the best result...
Congrats on the marriage! I've been married to my best friend now for over 10 years. Best decision ever. You'll have your ups and downs but if you can get through the downs together, you only end up stronger on the other side. =)
i found a recipe while playing this game for meat pie - can't find it anywhere now. recipe said to brown ground beef with onions and cinnamon - then combine with browned ground turkey, walnuts and raisins. then bake in a pie crust. not the greatest recipe ever but i sure would like to find it again. i'd probly add cheese.
I don't even drink (mostly because I don't like the taste of alcohol), but I really want to try this recipe anyway. Might try it with non-alcoholic apple cider (because I'm a filthy Yank) instead, which might help both temper the strength of the alcohol for someone who isn't used to it like myself, as well as help it taste closer to my preferred taste. I love the taste of non-alcoholic apple cider, but am not a fan its alcoholic counterpart, so that change could help a lot. Only real issue is getting a hold of the brandy. I live in the US as I said, so you have to be 21 to purchase alcohol of _any_ sort, and I'm still just under a year shy of that stupidly high legal age limit. I could ask my mom if she'd buy it for me, but we don't have a lot of money to throw around on expensive booze. I could be wrong given my inexperience, but brandy sounds like the kind of spirit that is on the more expensive side.
Just considering in the US cider doesn't necessarily refer to alcoholic cider perhaps the game was leaning towards that? Don't know where the game comes from though.
Louis Mayall Yes and no. American apple cider is unfiltered and unprocessed juiced apples. Normally when making apple juice (the kind you'd buy in a store) it undergoes a process that removes pulp and sediment, as well as pasteurization to kill off bacteria, and is also usually filled with additives. Apple cider is straight from the bushel to the jug.
Johnny! How did you pick the perfect one? I mean there must be many women who would be dreaming over your beard and wonderful taste in music of what you've shown in some of the Eurogamer vids (Ghost, and System of a Down but mostly Ghost, but hey! I'm listing what I see and hear). Anyways congratulations you beautiful, beautiful man! 😥😥😥
It's a pretty normal pronunciation where I'm from (central/southern england). I'm not sure which regions it's most common, but I find both ways of pronouncing it normal enough to be unremarkable.
It's just an accent thing. Quite often, the same words are pronounced differently, depending on where they are in a sentence too. In the midlands, where I'm from, most people drop the t's and h's from words, so the city "Nottingham" would come out sounding more like "Noh'ing'um".
I noticed you used Hard Cider. How do you think it would come out if you used Sweet Cider instead? I ask because, locally, it's easier and cheaper to get Sweet Cider then Hard Cider, but I do know the tow drinks have VERY different qualities.
Can you please try making the Hanuda noodles from PS2's Siren: How to prepare Hanuda Noodles (according to the game's archives): 1. Boil noodles for 3 minutes in a large pot of boiling water. 2. Drain water and rinse noodles well in cold water. 3. Place noodles in broth made of soup stock, chili, vinegar, sake, and sugar. Top with organic strawberry jam. Serve with seasonal fruits if desired.
Congratulations getting married, a note on the new knife, if you are cutting acidic foods, make sure to wipe off the blade pretty sharpish to avoid corrosion and when washing it don't leave the wood sitting in water otherwise the handle is going to swell and go soft. maybe make elixir soup from wind waker?
Congratulations of the Nuptials! "Absolutely pissing it down!". A typically British saying :). I did notice the smelling of the brandy when you opened it :D

Omg married?!? Congratulations!! I hope you guys are happy!

Luckily I don't have a dishwasher!
Eurogamer Always look on the bright side of life
And also research on some sharpening stones.
Do doo, do doo do doo do doo....
"The Life of Johnny"
Congratulations Johnny.
Japanese knife tip: Index finger and thump grip the blade, not the handle. It'll help you guide the knife more easily.
Congratulations, hope the wedding was lovely
It was amazing. Thanks so much!
Congrats on the marriage! Or as my dad says, 'You poor fool.'
Felicitations Mr. C and yes, I guess this explains why Elves are often portrayed as lounging around and singing all the time.
They're sloshed.
Congratulations! Make sure you hand whoever bought you the knife a ceremonial penny in return - giving them as a gift cuts the friendship.
Congratulations on getting married! Time for a video game wedding cake episode!
Here's one for ya: Well-Done Steak from Monster Hunter. Bonus challenge: use game meat like deer or buffalo, because there is no beef in Monster Hunter and since pigs are a vital pet and not food, no pork.
May have to try this
Congrats Johnny on the marriage.
his "oh no..." killed me
Congrats on getting married. I hope you and the missus have a long and happy life together. Best wishes from the U.S.
Total biscuits of rejuvination or Poro Snax from LOL might be a cool recipe idea (also congrats and welcome back to the kitchen)
Johnny. Gratz on getting married and the delicious alcoholic beverage.

Congrats on the marriage! I've been married to my best friend now for over 10 years. Best decision ever. You'll have your ups and downs but if you can get through the downs together, you only end up stronger on the other side. =)
Should've used the "Drunk with Dwarven Mirth" song for the video. :)
Congratulations

Congrats!
Legolas! What does your elven liver suffer!
That cider does sound really nice though. Not too sweet. :-)
Make the cake from Portal!
Congratulations on the wedding! And the knife!!!
Suggestion: it would be so cool if you'd make the challenge burger from Big Bang Burger in Persona 5!
To Eurogamer,
Johnny is ill tomorrow and won't be at work as he has the Irish flu.
What is this and where is Chiodiani's Kitchen!?
I'd be interested to see how it tastes slightly chilled...
Please make Brahmin fries from fallout two.
Congrats on your marriage
Hey Johnny well done on getting married and thank you for the recipe I am enjoying it now
I want to see him drunkenly edit a video

Ah, you made mulled cider then
The outcome of this could be much better if you use decent cider.
BoomBoomBrucey aye, couple of bottles of Katy or Aspalls would have done the trick.
I'd just drink the cans of Stowford's. lol
How do you work out quantities for things like this?
oooh so that's why the episode was a bit late today ;-)
Divine Divinity = Redundantly Redundant
I forgot how weird the music from Divine Divinity is ^^
I'm in love with your accent ❤️
Just considering in the US cider doesn't necessarily refer to alcoholic cider perhaps the game was leaning towards that? Don't know where the game comes from though.
Larian, who develop Divinity, are a Belgian company, so it'll be the alcoholic, European style of cider
Wait what? So it's just apple juice?
Louis Mayall

Make a monster cheese burger from arkham knight!
You should do an episode with your wife!
Johnny! How did you pick the perfect one? Is making a drink actually cooking ? NAHHH
Now I need to know if Johnny's wife is a cooking aficionado like he is - new episodes hosted by the couple, anyone?
Love it
I am a fan of measurements. O_O
Very nice
hey chiodin, if you don't read this its cool bc this kinda odd but if it's not too much trouble could you put the recipe in the description
So in order to make cider you use... cider...erm...??
Elves, am I right?
Britain has summers? Bollocks.
Mazel Tov
Aren't all Divinities divine?
jayrvb there's elves in the title of course their divinity is more divine. Despite uncertainty around stacking those words.
I CLICKED SO FAST!!
i have a different sort of question: what camera do you use? for the videos.
Why does he say "saucepn"
It's his dialect I imagine? Sort of how we Canadians pronounce caught as cot and vice versa.
FreyjaTheWarrior how do you say month?
to you say Mun-th or mun-f
It's a pretty normal pronunciation where I'm from (central/southern england). I'm not sure which regions it's most common, but I find both ways of pronouncing it normal enough to be unremarkable.
Us British people are lazy

Congratulations on the wedding band good sir.
There are 3 rings to marriage: the promis ring, the engagement ring, and the suffer ring.
Absolutely pissing it down that's a fucking understatement
Time for a drunken game of PUBG with Ian swigging Rum and Aoife with wine...
Mazel tov on the wedding, and the non-disgusting booze.
Can you please try making the Hanuda noodles from PS2's Siren:

Wait you weren't here last week?! You must have a doppelganger!
It really was impossible to tell!
Congrats Johnny
You should make Chaurus Pie from skyrim
Love the show! You should try making Grandma's Elixir Soup from Wind Waker, a Big Bang Burger from Persona 5, or the Fishburger from Ni no Kuni!
Congrads!
Take care so the knife doesn't rust ;)
Could you make a "Total Biscuit of Rejuvenation" from League of Legends?
LOTR elves can't get drunk, sooo....
This is the show I look forward to the most on eurogamer. And it's about cooking.
What about doing runescape Dwarven stout?
Congrats on getting married; I wish you all the best!
You should make Kilju from My Summer Car
Congrats Johnny!!!
Congratulations of the Nuptials!
"Absolutely pissing it down!". A typically British saying :).
