  • In today's video, we dive into West Ham United's financial situation as the summer transfer window heats up. Despite fan expectations for significant signings, the Hammers are working with a modest budget of £60 million. With recent player sales generating an additional £11 million, the club has about £51.5 million left after their recent acquisition. We'll analyze how this impacts their ability to meet the £45 million valuation for target Max Kilman and explore potential strategies for strengthening their squad within these financial constraints. Join us as we break down the numbers and assess what's next for West Ham in this crucial transfer period.

If any of this is true then we're not spending £20m on an 18 yr old, or bidding for Kilman. We more or less know we bid for Samu, the Atletico striker, and that wouldn't have been pennies.
    It's blatantly not true.

The 'how much money have we got?' question pops up every window. It's slightly less interesting than the 'which player we've never heard of are we gonna get angry about not signing?' question?
Steidten is a genius remember. We don't have to worry any more.

2 main reasons this is complete bull sh*t
      1) we signed a Brazilian youngster who's not expected to go into the 1st team right away for a big portion of our so called summer budget
      2) lopetegui has history of leaving clubs because he's not got any money to spend

If it's true that we only have £50m to spend then Lopetegui should just leave because the board are clearly lying to him. I read this 3 weeks ago:
Today is the final day of West Ham’s financial year and it looks like a record turnover with the Hammers earning a million pounds per day in revenue.
The Hammers are likely to record a turnover of £365m thanks to a good European run, a ninth-place finish in the Premier League and the sale of Declan Rice in this financial year which finishes today.
This season West Ham will book a full £100m profit on Declan Rice as he was sold to Arsenal on 15th July last year six weeks after last year’s Hammers’ financial year-end.
In a twist of fate, sales are recorded in the single financial year they are sold in the accounts, unlike incoming transfers which are spread over the life of the contract.
West Ham is likely to earn £148m from Premier League TV money this season with an Equal share of £91.7m, TV facility fees: of £19.2m, and merit payment of £37.4m with the Hammers finishing ninth in the Premier League table.
Add to this an estimated £23.5m earned from the Europa League prize money in a cup run to the quarter-finals.
Ticket match day revenue is likely to reach £45m plus commercial/sponsorship of another £35m revenue plus retail sales of around £13.5m
That would create a record turnover for this season of around £365m way above the £253m recorded two seasons ago.

I think what some overlook is that the financial year doesn't end till June 30th, so you could have at present a surplus to spend from, June of last year's accounts, and when this financial year ends you should have the transfer budget for 24/25 set, Tim could at the moment be working with last years budget with more to follow from July 01st including sales, european market doesn't start till July 01st and the Saudi market is July 14th I believe.

Our best window in recent years was the one we got payet. We got in about 8 players, good value and early. And we pretended we had no money. Since then, we have told everyone our striker woes, so everyone knew our player and striker budgets. At this moment we could have anything from £50-150m left, which means we are in a position to attempt to negotiate rather than permanently ripped off begging for players by teams who know our budget.
Also Phillips loan cost was offset partially by the benni loan payment by lyin. 4.5m of the 17m

Guilherme was given guarantees by Tim steiden that we were going to build an exciting new squad under Lopetegui in order to convince him to sign so I cannot believe they would both be lied to especially with Lopetegui’s history. Let’s just hope this is all turns out to be smoke & mirrors and the start of something exciting, otherwise things could turn ugly and nobody wants to see that happen.

When we sign a player, the transfer fee is split over the length of a contract and when we sell a player, the transfer fee received is and can be added to the financial sheets of that season instantly
    I've heard we have up to 150m to spend (in reality we won't though) but if we went along with 50m;
a player signed 50m on a 5 year deal would only count as 10m for the transfer budget each season (10 x 5)
    We would have 40m
then If we sell a player for 10m
we could theoretically still spend 50m as selling a player for 10m would cancel the 50m signing out - player sales aren't spread out like player signings on financial sheets
It just takes away from future season transfer budgets, that 50m over 5 years player would take 10m away from budgets for the next 5 years and would need a sale worth 10m to cancel that out each season

    1) surely we all know about FFP and living within means

Always smoke and mirrors with these guys. It begs the question why did they allow such wastage by Moyes yet leaving us with such a small old squad…oh and by their words (what they are worth) wanted to keep him on? Terrible management and this all just backs up my contention that a Club like us can’t afford the way of doing Moyes business. Now the FFP BS. Fact is we will, due to the financials, be able to spend more money (a lot more) this Summer than next, so are they simply using thus as an excuse to keep or should I say ‘put’ money in the Billionaires pockets or are they simply saving money to spend next year though not clear if that can actually be wangled to fit so hey maybe the first is the more likely.
I will conclude from the above ( and a lot more if one wants to see it) is all part of the process of keeping the Club ticking over while they concentrate on furthering their developmental ambitions. That’s the only true carrot they, or to be precise Brady, could dangle in front of Middle Eastern investors and the biggest concern seems to be that even that ‘vision’ couldn’t attract interest. Fact is they just want investment so that they don’t have to invest any of their own cash into the club as a cost to them, while they seek this eventual killer deal. One presumes the potential investors, as no doubt Kretinsky have seen through that and perhaps this killer deal isn’t quite as close or obtainable as they would like to project, which in itself would explain why they don’t want to put in their own money (but prefer to milk new investors funds) or otherwise reduce the available assets in the club they can avail themselves of over time, even though the fact is under FFP standings at present expert analysis (if the facts as attainable are true ie the most recent accounts etc) we should be able to spend as much as 140m this Summer before further outgoings. Even if they don’t wish to spend that it certainly makes a mockery of the 50m remaining, esp when as I say they persisted with a Manager who was never going to add value through player dealings and we were lucky enough to have had the one off Rice income. Fact is they want to spend as little as possible while getting as much ‘success’ as possible on a budget to hide the real motives behind all this from what they see as a gullible fanbase. They see TS as just a another way of achieving that while a ‘proven’ in Sullivan’s eyes relegation avoiding Manager does the rest and making the most of that modest budget using FFP as the cover.

So it's the geriatrics again next season. Old Sulli poking his nose in again. Anyone up for a relegation scrap?

Moyes lost money on every single signing other than rice- this is why he was awful for the club.

Exactly, the archaic tactics was enough, but his transfer carnage alone was a sacking offence.

It’s not going to be £50m. Far too much flip flopping on what the budget is. Need to ignore the crap coming out from the club via different plants. We know roughly what funds should be available from the last few windows. Do you think Lopetegui would have bothered to come to West Ham if we only had 70m to spend. Nope.

Here we go again with the anti Sullivan nonsense. He's constantly singled out and criticised yet when he stumps up £30m for an 18 year old he barely gets a mention if at all. I am not the biggest fan of Sullivan but this constant negativity is utterly unfounded and dripping is bias. All the good things that happened under Moyes, credit was given to everyone EXCEPT Sullivan.
