Great review, but in a way I disagree with you over the shape of the set. To me, it's probably as good as a car like the DB5 was ever going to get from an official set, without compromising functionality
I love this set! The shape doesn't bother me, it us just fine considering it is built from LEGO. I also didn't have any of the problems you mentioned at the end with the bullet proof screen and the roof, mine fit and work perfectly. I think people are way to harsh over this set, it is one of my favourite creator sets ever! Love the videos and mocs, keep up the excellent work!
FYI- This is the LEGO set that got me back into LEGO when I retired after an absence of 40 years due to University and work. I have since bought and built over 50 additional Technic, Ideas, Creator Expert, Lego Movie, Ninjago and Star Wars sets all precipitated by the sheer enjoyment of the James Bond Aston Martin DB5 build. So this kit holds a special place in my Technic heart.
same, I think the mid section looks pretty great. The only part i have a huge issue with is the front, specifically the derpy looking headlights. Tho i imagine if u remove the guns u could probably adjust the angle a bit.
Wojciech W. Me too lol. That’s literally the first thing I thought was gonna happen when I saw the hamster move to the passenger side 😂 thankfully no hamsters were harmed in the making of this video… I think
I have this set! Say that it's "ugly" is just too much, I think. In my case the function of the bullet proof screen works pretty well... some times some 1x1 pieces need to be aligned precisely. For the ejection seat you can just pull and release instead of pull and then push the command. Great video!
- “No mention of sex and violence” Who cares? - “Doors are too thick”; doesn’t really matter, besides it’s an armored vehicle, they always have that. It was also made in the ‘60s I think the model looks a lot better irl than on pictures. Yes, the real car looks better, but considering that it is made of standard bricks I think Lego has done a good job
I fit into this niche really well. Love Bond but not a fanatic. Love the car but don't know it too well. AMAZED by the complexity and love the learning experience, along with how the book "secretly" taught you its functions as you built it. And I wanted to pose with it in front of the real deal here in Kuwait city, but oh no.... COVID....
I finally got this set. The main reason that I like to build with system bricks is various parts usage and creative build techniques. Your right ,this set blew my mind. It maybe my favorite system build to date. I typically build technic but this one is a must. It leaves me wanting to explore the rest of Mikes builds. I don’t care if it’s a friends set, if he designed it , I’ll try it . Great review!
I get why people slammed this set for its looks. However its obvious what it is to me plus it has all those awesome gizmos which all work so well. Building techniques are insane on this too. One of my favourite builds to date. Is a bit pricey.
Say what you will about the stickers, I'm happy it's not a whole bunch which will wear out with time and make the pieces they are on not really reusable for MOCs. This is a beautiful model.
I feel like it might be easier to be creative (if you're already creative) if you're working at Lego because you would have access to all the parts, in unlimited sullpy (again, you need to be creative in the first place. Not having the right piece leads to using what you DO have more creatively) when you're ordering pieces from bricklink, what pieces do you order? like, how do you know what you need? do you not know what you need, and guess what pieces you'll be needing? do you build the mechanisms in CAD and then go from there? like, I can see rdering specific colors of pieces where you would build your model and then replace the colors. But how do you make sure you always have enough "technical" pieces for mechanisms and stuff? Those aren't all questions. I'm just trying to express a single question but don't know how
That's because these aren't chrome pieces. These are metallic silver pieces - quite different technology, quite different look. Nowhere as shiny as actual chrome.
@@searme yeah I see what you mean, but I thought you would bring up that for once we didn't have lazy light grey pieces but a more nice looking shiny silver, which made the car look more prestine
Hi Sariel, I know this isn't the right place to ask, but what is a good source for "Lego RC Motor" or "buggy motor"? I plan on building cars in a similar way to you and am trying to decide on how to power or control them, thanks.
Sariel's LEGO® Workshop i know I have seen nearly every video of you’re channel but I really want a truck that can climb on nearly everything And you can cal it the rock climber or something along those lines. Please reply what you think of it. Btw you have a awesome channel!
I love this set tbh, although I’m a little gutted the front wheels don’t steer, guess the designer couldn’t work it in, oh well I’m only going to stick it on a shelf. Personal I think it’s a display only kind of set
I’m sort of new to technic after being into system all of my life. I am now going back to collect some of the sets I missed out on. And I am wondering What is your guys opinion on buying used technic sets?
note before you buy: I’ve had this set for 1 year now and it is supremely fragile my nephew went into the room where it was on display and I told him he could play with it thinking it was strong but I had lights come off and that was about it but then a few days later I accidentally dropped my phone on the rear end and the entire end just broke to bits and the drop distance was about 5 inches don’t buy it unless you want to check if this thing broke 2 times a day
I agree, it is so ugly. It is much taller and more boxy than the real car, and the exterior is made up of so many small pieces that it looks almost like a crossword puzzle on the sides. Or perhaps I am just spoiled because the only other creator car I have is the Mustang.
3:00 Sex and violence may be one part of James Bond, but let's not forget about the quick replies, such as: - What is he doing? - I think he's attempting re-entry… - What are you doing, Mr. Bond? - Just keeping the English bottom up Or James Bond after shooting someone with a harpoon… - I think he got the point

@@lord_scrubington well...the real aston martin does have the derpy lights too
@@Mima_the_vengeful_spiritYeah, but the angle isn't quite as intense and they are longer so it doesn't look quite as derpy
I think it looks great.

I have this, its awesome!
This Aston looks great!

Cool looking at first glance, however I completely agree that the details are off. It also looked a little similar to the mustang for a second LOL.
Wow! One of the greatest reviews! Thanks for that!
"+5 to doubting your own creativity"
Ha! that won't work, mine doubts are already maxed out :P
I stopped watching for a while but now I’m back
I liked every single one of your comments
This set is awesome. Really good review
I built this set a year and a half ago, it was probably the most difficult set I ever put together.

Awesome Video Sariel.
Świetny Film Sariel.
For once we have chrome pieces in a Lego creator set, you don't even talk about them 😥

@@searme yeah I see what you mean, but I thought you would bring up that for once we didn't have lazy light grey pieces but a more nice looking shiny silver, which made the car look more prestine
But this is pretty standard. The Creator Mini Cooper has the same metallic silver used for bumpers. Nothing new or unique here.
16:21 very cool design
18:45 No, the DB5 and the Mustang are the largest scale in the line up.
Yesssss finally
Nice

Bricklink and eBay.
Dear Sariel, I really want to see a new 8.8 truck!
Just built MAZ-535 a few months ago.

Thanks. Yeah, I'd like to build some nicely climbing truck, but I think first I need to finish my nicely climbing 4x4 Range Rover.
I love this set tbh, although I’m a little gutted the front wheels don’t steer, guess the designer couldn’t work it in, oh well I’m only going to stick it on a shelf. Personal I think it’s a display only kind of set
An awesome video again 👏
What is the music in the beginning?? Awesome video!
Not really ugly, still nice!
I want to watch no time to die after cinemas in my house with this car
I’m sort of new to technic after being into system all of my life. I am now going back to collect some of the sets I missed out on. And I am wondering What is your guys opinion on buying used technic sets?
Does anyone have any bets as to what the best Creator car will be? Or if we will get one this summer?
Why couldn't a Lego Genius (you) build this Aston Martin? It's BEAUTIFUL (the real life car, not the lego set) and I'm sure it would be awesome.

I liked this model, but the price...
Was so expensive

wish they would do more 1960s prototype race cars

Where is lego technic 42111?
When we can expect new Charger's review? ;)
I have no idea with the lockdown and everything.
How is the father thing going?
Need sleep!
@@searme It's a pretty tough task, but you're surely doing it the best you can! Good luck!
Thank you!
Why the Aston Martin though?
I thought you would be reviewing the new Lego Creator Expert Fiat 500!
I don't like it.
Hi sariel, what about the new speed champions sets? They're very interesting, cool looking and use nice building techniques!
Not really my cup of tea. They're so small!
They actually look quite big! Nice sets for 20€
The car is a bit narrrow I guess
Hello from Russia, plz make Kamaz 4310, is the beutifful millitary track, my english very bad, sory
I think model looks very nice. It is not possible to catch all lines with LEGO brick.
I thought the Mustang is much better than the DB5
headlights look like eyes
Where are you from? I’m from 🇹🇩 Romania🇹🇩
GABI he is from poland
Ok ,thanks😉
Did you try the ejector seat on the hamster...?
Of course not. Too much weight.
@@searme Nothing you can't mod !! Safety 1st, do factor in the weight of the hamster's helmet though :-)
co byś bardziej polecał lego 42110 czy 42099?
Pytanie brzmi raczej: wolisz modelem jeździć czy go pchać? :)
I thought that was a Trabant before I clicked.
May I ask you were buy/get your stickers (you create) for your mocs?
I make them myself.
@@searme so you just print them with sticker paper in your printer?
Sticker foil. In a print shop.
I have it
How about the chrome like pieces?
These are metallic silver pieces. Pretty common and nowhere as cool as chrome pieces.
Ok I’m sorry sariel
I have this set and if your far enough away it doesn’t look like legos
The Mustang is a lot better than this
I agree, it is so ugly. It is much taller and more boxy than the real car, and the exterior is made up of so many small pieces that it looks almost like a crossword puzzle on the sides. Or perhaps I am just spoiled because the only other creator car I have is the Mustang.
Czy da się zamówić (jeśli tak to gdzie) naklejki z zestawów, np z LEGO City.
Można kupić z drugiej ręki np. na Allegro i Bricklinku.
Well sir, I don't find it ugly at all!
sariel is french ?
Nope.
who knows the background music?
I mean lego got the licence to build a technic Valhalla now so...
hol' up THIS WAS REALESED IN 2018????
Yes.
Yes
Sariel can you change the music on ur upcoming videos😅, its been to long using the same few backgroun musicXD
Yeah, I'll look for some new library if budget allows.
@@searme thanks alot😁...

Did anyone notice how it looks like a catfish
