To whom it may concern, ice making liquid =/= water. And yes, you HAVE to stand by the freezer, or else it will not work. You also have to both strain and microwave your water. Hope this helps
Directions are for name brand ice making liquid only. When using generic I found that stirring for 2 hours after straining is sometimes required. You might also need to run it through a coffee filter 5 or 6 times though this step can be skipped but you'll end up with extra water (this extra water can be discarded but be sure to do so properly, dont just pour water down the drain unless you have pipes designed for water) otherwise, great instructions.
