I will be the next Elphaba in Broadway!! Idina rules... she taught me everything i know about singing...
I immediately broke down crying when I heard this song. I learned that my dysfunctional family was caused by my father who cheated on my mom since even before their marriage. My parents don't want to get a divorce because they're worried it will harm me even though my dad still sees that woman. I feel that I'm the cause of my parent's issues because they are together when they don't want to. But now I know I must be brave and just live my life and be strong all on my own.

Really ,this is pissing me off so many people are saying she is a bran new singer whom got famous from frozen and i think how long ago did wicked come out and thats when she got famous.
I think Frozen put her in the main stream. I saw her in Wicked, I saw her in the movie Rent.
Rent was actually her breakout role on Broadway. She used to be a wedding singer on Long Island. I actually worked with her on a few jobs and she was very young, gorgeous and talented back then and she was pursuing a career as a singer songwriter and also working as a hostess in NYC. She auditioned for Rent which was an off broadway show and landed a part and then the show went viral! That was her claim to fame. That put her on the map on Broadway. She's a great actress and she's got a great voice for that genre! ...and from what I remember about her..she was a very sweet person.

OMG!! I never heard this song before until today. I had a 2 1/2 hour dance class to learn my dance and it was to this song. The chorography put to this song and the song its self is amazing!!!! LOVE IT!!!

my brother just graduated today and before giving out the diplomas, the choir sang this song. as i listened to the lyrics, i found myself contemplating the next four years when my friends and i are to be split apart..:( i found my self stricken to tears from the lyrics, i did all i could to hide them, but now, everytime i listen to it, i still get teary-eyed..

In Oct 2008 I was fired (I was fired from a church for being gay)... I was on the threshold of the church parking lot and the highway in my truck. I was crying so hard because I didn't know what was going to happen to me. I set my iPod to shuffle and this song came on... The lyrics hit me to the core and I've never been the same again. I am a new man and have purpose. Thank you Idina for writing this... It literally saved my life and I will always be grateful...

I almost agree with JazzTrumpetNL. She has wonderful lyrics, and you have to be deaf to say she can't sing. But this type of music doesn't fully express her range and ability as well as the musical numbers do. Nevetheless, I absolutely love this song. (:
