    Back in the early 70's, I was stationed at Campion Air Force Station, Alaska. In addition to being an intercept control station, we were also a weather station, hence the veracity of the temperatures. The coldest ambient air temperature during my year there was -69f, and the coldest wind chill was -95f. If you played frisbee outside (we were young and stupid, so we'd do that), the frisbee would freeze and crack in less than 2 minutes. But at that temperature, 2 minutes was all you could handle, even dressed in full arctic survival gear.

    Haven't made it to the end of the video yet, but it's funny most Mainers know when you walk outside and the snow is squeaking it's 0 or delow, even before the chill hits ya.

    Nice job on playing it safe. I'd choose the same thing.. I like going to the far NE side of moosehead for fly and then Rockwood for ice. I love brookies over most fish. Eating and beauty for me. Nice catch Joe! The trip is going ok so far... Ish

    Love the videos. Just a suggestion but if your going out for that long of a period of time. Wouldn’t a hot tent wood stove work better .A. You would would eliminate moisture. B. No worries about running out of propane. C. You would be warmer and you could still cook on it. I think it would be a safer for you .👍

    • @JoeHollandFishing
      @JoeHollandFishing  3 роки тому +1

      I’m considering it. Or at least having it as an option. I hate to bring more stuff than I already do like a wood stove , stove pipe, brackets, and piles of dry wood and wood to keep dry for an extended trip. But it does seem like it will be dryer and warmer if desired.
