My friend you re killing me. Please open the bottom vent fully, make certain an air hole in the bottom grate is exposed to guarantee airflow. Remember the back of the BGE is hottest. I operate my BGE with the bottom wide open and control from the top, fire always has oxygen, limited only by above.. Thanks for sharing.
You used too many of the speedy lights. I have only used 1 and worked every time.. also don’t hold them.. they are loaded with flammable liquid :) but enjoy.. yes you have the best wife ever! Peace
I really had to stop watching after the seventh minute… you should have watched tutorials before you even started your egg. by the looks of your video you did not do that at all.
Hahahahahahhaa! Yeah, I use a heat gun to start the coals now. I was using one of the looftlighter Amazon knock offs. That worked for about 2 years. Then I bought the genuine looftlighter, and couldn’t even get the grill to start with that! So returned and just bought a cheap Amazon heat gun for $20. That works to an acceptable degree. But I’ve used the heck out of this grill! I use it several times a week most of the time. I’ve done burgers, steak, chicken, brisket, smoked a turkey and got a pizza stone, and have done pizza on several occasions! Awesome grill!
Kudos for sharing your first experience without editing anything out. We all made mistakes but not everyone shared them all.
Yeah, I use a heat gun now! Way faster!
Bruh…this tutorial was a success on what NOT to do
Kudos for putting it out there tho keep 💪
I agree! Took me a few tries to get the hang of it. Now I can get it started and be cooking in about 10 minutes!

This was my first time using it. I’ve gotten much better since this video!
Mr. Rodgers, please relax......
Good to know
Buy the weber wax cubes. They burn hot and burn a very long time. Place your starters deeper in the charcoal . Laying them on top does nothing
Got the electric starter (heat gun), and that’s been working great!
Air flow! Close the lid and open both the bottom vent and the top. Air will flow through and bring the egg to temp quickly.
I have since figured that out!
Looks like you need some grilling utensils.
sorry a year later but did it come with that nest? I can't find any info on it
It was included in the “package price” that we bought.
What are you doing? Please check some videos how to light an egg.
Not to worry, I got an electric starter, and all is right with the universe!
@@CliffsHowToI’m happy for the video and learning.
Open bottom hole need more airflow
I'm cringing seeing you stabbing the chicken with the fork like that lol.
Why?
What size egg is that?
Large
Bro, this video was so painful
I need that lighter!
Amazon! I couldn’t find the he exact one, but you can find a similar one.

I’ve started using an electric lighter. Much, much faster!

You’re right, I just went for it!
Painful.
It was a little!
Painful af to watch.
Yeah, not a fan of the little speed light things. I use a heat gun now! Much faster!
