Sweden as it stands, has one of the most stable economic enviroments on this planet. We have higher benefit ratios then most countries and a good overall citizen protection, wether it be health care, insurance or the ability to get a roof over your head and a bed to sleep in. There are other parties that regulate Sweden as a whole, more then any party-selection can change. The EU as of right now, have control over about 70% of laws set in Sweden(rough estimate). One of those would be regulation of immigrants. As I'm told, SD want's to reduce said influence from the EU in order to change laws for a more economic-friendly entry into Sweden, and thus being able to shift money over to those who CAN'T afford to travel here. Refering ofcourse to people in dire need in countries of conflict or perhaps natural disaster struck ones. Before responding to what I just wrote, make sure to give it a good read and note the words I'm using. I ask this of you in order to spare your, aswell as my precious time.

Egentligen undrar jag hur vi ska kunna ta hand om alla flyktingar när det finns bostads-, och arbetsbrist här i Sverige? Är det inte bättre att fokusera och förbättra vårt samhälle och att ta hand om dem som har det dåligt här och nu än att bara öka på den siffran?

This is already a well known fact known by the statements of the migrants venturing over the Mediterranean. There is one big difference though - information regarding western countries are much more reliable due to information media, like the internet - and due to some of these people already knowing people who made it into north European countries. But word of mouth is still all it takes - just as it was enough back then.
Also, the condition of Europeans migrating to the US were not considered "inhumane *even for the time*" - that's why that level of life existed. Most people DO strive for the best cost-to-benefit ratio. This is valid for any living being. It's simply a matter of whether a person believes the cost of migrating and the procedures that follow is too high compared to the benefit (in the form of the expectations given by rumours about Europe).
Your question is like asking: "Then why did most Europeans stay at home, if the rumours of the promised land of America was out?". I think this rhetorical question implies the answer so strongly, that nothing more need be said.
Why isn't everyone coming to Sweden? Because EU to some extend organizes this, so that all countries take in immigrants according to the standard that 1: EU set and 2: each country set according to the EU rules imposed upon these countries. Sweden has decided to take many times more immigrants than the EU minimum, but could take in many times more, if it didn't have any restrictions at all.
Had EU forced all countries to accept all immigration, the vast majority of people would migrate. Only the fear of being rejected prevents some, along with the price of being smuggled (which exists because of this dynamic - and could be stopped by either accepting or denying all).
Now it's time for you to retort, as i ask you a similar question to yours: Why is there any immigration to Europe at all, when they could just stay in safety with the majority of people choosing not to migrate? You're implying that the poorest of the refugees and immigrants, are simultaneously those capable of affording the expenses it takes to travel here (the price for being smuggled here is very high).
Northern85Star Hi there, skimmed through some of the writing of you and your fellow arguing-companion. Now let's try to get some ground for once. Sweden as it stands, has one of the most stable economic enviroments on this planet. We have higher benefit ratios then most countries and a good overall citizen protection, wether it be health care, insurance or the ability to get a roof over your head and a bed to sleep in.
There are other parties that regulate Sweden as a whole, more then any party-selection can change. The EU as of right now, have control over about 70% of laws set in Sweden(rough estimate). One of those would be regulation of immigrants.
As I'm told, SD want's to reduce said influence from the EU in order to change laws for a more economic-friendly entry into Sweden, and thus being able to shift money over to those who CAN'T afford to travel here. Refering ofcourse to people in dire need in countries of conflict or perhaps natural disaster struck ones.

EmerityGaming That is exactly my point: help people in the nearest safe place to were they fled from, instead of focusing on helping those able to get to Sweden - especially since this way of helping is actually contra-productive. Not only to Sweden, but to the immigrants who struggle to feel "at home" in this place they either were forced to go to (due to EU regulations) or went to for material reasons. None of said people migrate to Sweden due to an affection of Swedish culture (ie. none of these people go to Sweden to BE Swedish, they have no incitement to do so, since they did not migrate for cultural reasons).

Kan du peka på vad hon sa som var intressant och viktigt? Hon verkade mest bara väldigt arg och känslosam. Ett par gånger snöade hon in sig och började argumentera emot sig själv. Sedan började hon prata om individer istället för grupper vilket inte är jättebra att göra i politik. Blev faktiskt chockad över att hon är så extremt okunnig men har jobbet som hon har.
