Wonderful interview! Loved meeting Claire Fuller through your chat. I just loved her humanity and the way she talked about her process and putting yourself out there no matter how that manifests, no matter how scary and overwhelming. Thank you!

Another one of your fab interviews. I enjoyed Bitter Orange and look forward to adding this one to my list. I love finding writers who discovered writing later in their lives (they have so much experience to offer) and it's fascinating that I've come across several who are (or were) also visual artists. Also can relate to Claire's story of growing up in a household without books/not being read to, although sweet that her dad gave her a dictionary as a gift. Claire has just reminded me about an old typewriter in our attic storage at the moment. We are having some work done in our house and planning on having a bookcase made and displaying the typewriter there seems like a great idea. Looking forward to your next interview.

Thank you! So glad you could relate. And it’s such an excellent idea using an old typewriter as a feature in a bookcase. Hope the work in your house goes well.

I loved this. I have a book of hers on my TBR shelf. Now I want to go start it. She’s such a nice person, very relatable.

Great interview! I loved her story of how she became a writer. Unsettled Ground is very high up on my TBR pile. I’ve liked each of her novels more than the one before so I’m quite looking forward to this new book.

Yes, so interesting to hear how it was never an ambition of hers but something she discovered. Hope you enjoy the new novel!

Oh, that was lovely! I already had Unsettled Ground on preorder but I’m even more intrigued to read it now. Claire seems like such a lovely person. “Rescue typewriters” made me giggle.
