9/11 Survivor Janice Brook's Emotionally Recalls The Day's Shocking Events 20 Years Later | GMB

Janice Brooks worked for Eurobrokers on the 84th floor of the South Tower. She’d only just started work in New York, arriving 19 days before Sept 11th. 62 - of a staff of 345 - died from her firm. She was in early that morning, and her account of the events are graphic. She tells Martin and Kate all about her recollection of the event, from the smells, sights and sheer terror she was feeling. She reveals that at first she was told the building was secure and staff should remain put but fortunately she did not listen to this advice. She crawled through debris as the injured evacuated and when she got outside she looked back and saw a gaping hole where her floor should have been.

I'm a native Brooklynite. I was in NYC on 9/11, I was 28, and I'd recently moved back to NYC for graduate school. I DEFINITELY understand where she's coming from. If I'd been at the WTC that day, I'd have been OUTTA THERE the moment AA 11 impacted the North Tower. You couldn't have convinced me to stick around. It doesnt necessarily get easier. I live in Northern California now, and 9/11 STILL hits hard, EVERY year it's a sobering reminder.

I just watched History documentary that features her and her Eurobrokers colleagues talking about their survival. Great to see she looks so well.
I bet she is so grateful for Rob telling her the enormity of situation as many in the south tower didn’t know.
