Yeah, I'm just now finding out about this as well. As many times I've looked at videos on music and instruments, including odd; weird; unusual; and newly invented instruments, you would think that I would've been recommended this video years ago instead of now.
@@joshuamcpherson7651 it sounds like a trumpet to me as well and I believe that's why they have it to a trumpet player. I too see it as a bent trumpet. I was more focused on how I never came across the video until now, despite my viewing habits, in my previous comment.
I feel like, because it happened with the saxophone that this instrument if it is gonna continue, that it won't be popularized until later on in the world after this guy has died or something...but then again because of how diverse we are today it might as well be
A ton of my usernames r trumpophone7 cuz when I was 7 I did some retarded thing like I put a sax mouthpiece on my trumpet or something I don’t remember exactly but it’s still my username for like everything
Looks cool but on the other hand I'd think the way both the Position and Angle the bell is located could in the long run damage the ear. The sound is more "direct" to the ear than normal trumpets design, hope I'm wrong (I am a musician with Tinnitus still play trumpet but not so often)
I hate to be that guy but I’m fairly certain this is a normaphone, not a jazzophone. A jazzophone has two bells, one of which has a built in wah-mute, similar to an echo cornet. They’re such rare instruments that the distinction barely matters but I do think it’s interesting.
It is up to the player and the mouthpiece, however this recording is not professional, it is a pretty mouthpiece sensitive instrument. facebook.com/jazzophone.net/
now they need to make a saxophone that looks like a trumpet
Well the Keyed Trumpet and Bugle a bit looks like :)
the closest thing you’ll get is a soprano sax
Adrian Ferrer that’s the sax-oboe

Sopranino sax (or soprano)

0:53 he hugged Arturo with his neck lol
Lmao
LOL
You can't really see it but I think he was patting his back with his left arm lol
@@Dprest-nd4yc When you look close I think I see his arm, but it's funny if you just focus on the neck. LOL
Not to be confused with the saxoboom
Love all that third valve play.
I love seeing someone so genuinely grateful for a gift
The tonal range is just awesome
I love how quickly he mastered this instrument!
Its just a sideways trumpet, and hes a trumpet player
Well duh... it’s different tho
@@camdini3-372 not really
I LOVE the sound, you biow us away Arturo !!!!!
Makes Dizzies' horn look far too normal....
Master musician, I love his feeling.

Awesome horn, incredible!
Merci d'avoir partagé ce moment extraordinaire! From France!

Arturo with a new toy !
Sounds like he’s drifting an 18 wheeler. Love Arturo
Putting the bent trumpet aside.. Sometimes I wonder why UA-cam only recommends me stuff after a lot of years have passed since they were posted

Apexone honestly and why do people think this is a mixture of instruments? It’s just a bent trumpet

So amazing Arturo!!!
That’s a cool instrument! It’s like a trumpet and saxophone at the same time.
Wow he absolutely starts shredding on it
Yeow! Best experience ever
i love You Arturo!! Show man.
This may be the coolest thing ive ever seen in my life. I wish I had one. Wow 😳😳😳😳

The sound is crisp. Great sound and great trumpet player.
It sounds almost like it has a mute on.
Stephen Budders probably because the quality is so bad

It should be called a trumpophone
It would be a availability too.
Funny! :) Unfortunately, the syllable "trump" used in any way is distressing to my ear, no matter how great the instrument is.
Guessing it has the distinct tine sound of politics

It looks like it would be more relaxed to play. More comfortable, maybe.
I can tell that is a bent up trumpet and modified to sound like that. Really cool tho.

THATS THE POINT

So I was on Google shopping looking for a cheep sax when I came across this..."instrument", so I decided to look it up on UA-cam and here I am.
The tone color is very nice. Also flugelhorn-like.
who made this jazzophone should get a noble prize
The idea itself is not by us but the compact size and exactly this model is. Thank you !

When I played with Eddie Harris, he used to play a so called „reed trumpet“. He was quite proud of his invention...;-))
He came to Texas a few years back. At one point, he pulled out his cellphone and it played the same song he was playing.
This is a hilarious looking instrument
maestro de maestros!!!

I wonder if trumpet players might use this in marching band or Drum Corp to avoid horizontal playing.
We definitely need a baritone version
I agree, considering euphonium is my primary instrument.
You smart son of a bitch
I want a tuba one
Very creative design...
Que satisfacción , de tener en la Antoogia cubana a esta excelencia . Sueño con que en mi pais puedan estudiar a estas grandes figuras.

Saxy!
Dizzy would approve. Truly an "upside down and backwards Dizzy horn."
Lindo instrumento me preguntó que modeló o marca es ese instrumento
Do that to a euphonium! Bari sax style!
where can I buy this I know a guy I wanna give this as a birthday gift to
This is absolutely beautiful, but doesn’t the Jazzophone have a double bell? One side muted?
It normally does I think
No teh old fashioned one

Thank you for the notice. No, there is no problem , the recording sounds much more bright and direct, so we didn't feel that during testing.
Apparently you’ve never been a Trombone player in a big band.
