- Happy Thanksgiving! It’s the most delightful time of the year, and in celebration of food and friendship, Alison is joined this week by Amiel Stanek - cook, editor, food writer, and dear friend. Alison and Amiel address questions about gluten free gravy, tired mashed potatoes, peppy salads, overdone turkey leftovers, and … appropriate cannabis consumption at the dinner table. How do you politely exclude a boyfriend from the family photo shoot? Can a stuffing recipe be recreated? Tune in to find out and relish in all things Thanksgiving. Listeners, we are thankful for you! Call 856-502-4816 to solicit advice on a future episode. Production by Redd Rock Music. Solicited Advice is brought to you with distribution and revenue support from the Talkhouse Network.
I love this podcast series. I like the split screen videos better, I think the most recent ones only show the person when they’re speaking but I like to see both people at the same time to catch reactions / get the full experience. ❤
When someone asks me who my celebrity crush is, I say either Javier Bardem or Amiel Stanek.
Roman's the only person I'll listen to talk about mashed potatoes for two hours.
This type of conversation is unlike anything else out there right now. Beautiful, helpful, thoughtful, fun. Thank you!
Claire with the stuffing. Try adding some poultry seasoning. It's a blend of spices that really have a very "Thanksgiving vibe". Personally, I think it makes stuffing perfect. Add a little at a time and keep tasting as you go...
Immediately googled le bernadin tuna and I will NEVER unsee it 😂
its tragic
Omg I loved Amiel on the BA kitchen! What a tg treat!
Today's episode was so enjoyable! Great to see you here, Amiel! Alison, would split pea soup be too humble a candidate for Home Movies? More than any other soup - and I love most soups, frankly - split pea is my comfort soup of choice, especially at this time of year. (God only knows how many gallons I've consumed annually between October and March.) Thank you both for this episode, and have a Happy Thanksgiving!
Alison, I need more of you two doing things together.
Thank You!
A-meal I've missed you
I found adding extra fresh sage along with fried sage made the stuffing/dressing just like my mom made.
My MN grandma made MN style turkey chow mein with the left overs. It was basically an excuse to eat the crispy chow mein noodles. 😁
Alison, you are excellent. Also, more Amiel.
Good morn'n from Colorado!
Potato starch slurry made a phenomenal gluten free gravy for us this year. Shout out Bob’s Red Mill!
I love you Alison more than words can describe, I don’t know you Amiel but if Alison loves you, then I love you too. That said, as a vegan who’s passionate about cooking delicious food, I have to inform you that absolutely CAN have amazing vegan mashed potatoes that do not taste like coconut! Love both of your insights though and this was such a fun watch ☺️❤️ Sent with love
I love this podcast series and I think we the listeners need to know how many virgo placements Alison has
Handheld mixer for smooth mashed potatoes!
The audio is practically zero???
So I start my Thanksgiving prep like 3 or 4 days in advance if I'm doing everything myself, and I don't have kids and work part-time from home. The reason being I have a bad back, and the 2 times I did it in a say and a half, once I sat down to rest or eat dinner with everyone, I couldn't get back up again, my back had given out and I was laid up in bed for 2 days after, lol
Amiel!
Amiel! Haven’t seen him in so long. Please start a UA-cam channel. You’re BA videos were so great!
Amiel, add one or two chipotles in adobo to your split pea soup.
Where’re the beans, Fart Qween?!!
Dad Grass sponsorship incoming
I know it’s the new thing for everyone making media to start a podcast but maybe the YT version can have its own channel?
Well, the channel is just my name, and the way I see it, is several shows can live on a channel! So home movies and solicited advice can both live there haha.
"Raw Tuber" new OnlyFans category
Y’all are SO WRONG about the vegan stuffing and mashed potatoes. I have had absolutely delicious versions of both. BUT I agree, you can’t expect non-practiced, non-vegan ppl to cook bomb ass vegan food. AND you have to spend a small fortune for the best plant based alternatives. (And don’t use coconut milk in your mashed potatoes, duh).
غ.
Did Amiel rent a motel room to do this?
