I think you are conflating issues here. Mathematics is a very multicultural subject, and it is full of names and words from all over the planet. It’s not just Americans that have issues pronouncing names, but it’s natural to have trouble when confronting foreign words. I work with researchers from every continent, and each one has trouble pronouncing different names and words. No need to turn this into a nationalist issue, it’s just human.
