Taxi operators that are gangsters and criminals =the complaints. But the FEW honest taxi drivers are not complaining because they follow the rules. Enough taxi drivers are just using their vehicles for criminal activity. THEY NEED TO AUDIT EVERYONE LICENSE TO CHECK HOW MANY CAN READ/WRITE vs just paying for their license and putting passengers lives in danger.

I consider myself amongst the good taxi operators because the i commute said so times and times again, I was given tickets for doing the right thing, SOME of these police are ignorant of the law...
Nobody is considering the plea of the taxi-men, everybody out here calling them gangsters and criminals, but as soon as the drivers decide they can no longer work with the issues that are affecting their means of income and refuse to do further work under the tyranny of the government and jcf, everybody wanna chastise dem. The man dem have a right to demonstrate if they feel like the policies put in place are unfairly affecting their means of income. This is how they make their living

Some taxi drivers are being harassed and unfairly targeted; I absolutely agree. But most are reckless and breaking traffic laws ( dash full of unpaid tickets); those drivers are the criminals and gangsters that I speak about in my previous comment. So, if the drivers want to strike--then it just open up opportunities for new responsible taxi business owners. In the words of the Honorable PM” argument done”💜🇯🇲💜

Take for instance the accident where the young girl just walk out to her death oblivious of the trusk and what was ahead. The young man is not guilty but a life is loss. They can't charge him for murder but they can look to manslaughter. If Jamaica has imposed jaywalking and not just speak to it and left it hanging there is no way even consideration of manslaughter could be even remotely considered, could it. Anyways I dont thing they are talking about disobedience to the law but rather it is the imposed penalties

How in the hell does the taxi driver have tickets enough to make a sci-fi book? Seem as though some of these taxi drivers feel like they can bully the government to give them special treatment. What about the other drivers who have to pay their fines for traffic infractions? If tickets are not legally issued; fight it in court.

Doesn't their lives, their passengers' lives and the lives of pedestrians, and motorbike riders demand that they do so? Recently, five passengers in a taxi all died in a crash.

Poppy show,This is not the first or last person who was neglected to death at the Falmouth Hospital this is a frequent occurrence, whether high or low level investigation, nothing is going to change or make it better because that's how the system was set up and how human lives are be regarded by those whom were entrusted to show care and compassion for the afflicted....stay healthy people so that you won't die at the hospitals in JAMAICA.

The police must give them ticket from the east to the west. They must obey the road code. None of them driving out then it doesn’t know the road code right? Jump into a car and drive. I jump into a bus and drive that’s not the road code only in Jamaica they do have no law and order this cannot happen the first world country we live in a first world country. I can't believe how far behind Jamaica is when it comes to protecting the children going to school. You mean to tell me that it's only now you're thinking of putting on a rural bus service? You know how many lives that could save?, they should have put a rural bus service on up and running a long time ago and make it compulsory that children from rural areas use the service and charge every child at least $50, therefore the taxis should not be allowed to carry children under the age of 16 and n any taxi driver caught carrying children in their taxis during weekdays should be fined and the money accumulated from fines and the bus service maintain the bus and the road, that's how you change the infrastructure for the better.

I believe that Police Officers who take persons to court and cause them to waste many days because the Officer did not show up at court each time for the hearing, these Officers should be charged. The law need to be repealed. Persons time amd days must be respected. Officers, its only respectful to show up for court when you take people to court. Its easy to judge a situation with little knowledge not knowing the complexities that are within.
Its evident road traffic offenses should be penalized, nobody is disputing that. However, not all road traffic offences are a criminal offences, but the penaties and fines that these public transport worker recieve on a daily bases if just too much.
How can u demerit a driver for his passengers not following the law, the same passengers weh feel like they have the to judge and criticise taxi drivers for their own negligence to uphold the law.
Not only that, but look at even the big disparity between a taxi drivers passenger not upholding the law and getting fined plus recieving 2 demerit points .

Being caught with drugs and other illegal items is not a traffic offense but a criminal offense, so be careful of misinformation but i can assure that if such driver creates a traffic they will be duly charged for such offense all so

Don't get me wrong i have seen a lot of bad drivers, one police give me $45000 ticket in space of a month and i wasn't wrong, 3 fifteen thousand, judge dismiss one and i didn't have the time in Jamaica to fight the rest so i pay the rest, I didn't want to start from begging to get a license in Canada, if you have pay all your tickets in Jamaica, you just have to get a letter , so you only have to do the written test pass it , skip G2 and drive for you G ,then if you fail your G you have to go back and do your G2 and come back after some months and do your G again, but remember say a jamaica we a talk about and if a police no like you, me sorry for you if you own a vehicle

Taxi Operators and MOST red plate drivers are plagues on the road. Go to the darn court and challenge the tickets if u nuh deserve it yuh wont have to pay it. Most of you dont even pay the tovkets anyway so Idk what you all disputing...all 50 tickets wi pile up and none nuh pay.
