The "sneaker pipes" make me think way back when my uncle had his slab-sided 289 Cobra with sneaker pipes, 4 side draft Webers and a cam. He used to pile a few of us cousins into the passenger seat and go ripping down back roads! That car made a healthy intoxicating noise!
Iron Trap Garage- making flatheads great again!
great work Matt And great sound
Now you need to take it to The Race of Gentlemen, pull the plugs, race it on the beach, and plug it for the ride home......
Looking good. Nice to see an Iron Trap car that didn't have to be dragged back from initially being a pile of rusty parts.
Idk, i have a deep appreciation for the piles turned cars
@@tradrodsandcustoms Yes, full respect. The 1939 'Forgotten Hot Rod' was a great rebuild to watch, as are all of the others. I just meant good to see a car that they didn't have to get huge hours into before they could start modifying it.
@@DuckReach432 i get that, im with ya!
The “Ruined Roadster” is looking really good and sounding great. It’s nice to see a hot rod with nice paint for a change 😊
Steve got a haircut, with that slicked back look, it gives him the appearance of a Philadelphia mafioso. Better look out guys, he may be moving in for a "piece of the action"...
Sounds great! Nice haircut, Steve.
Did not realize it was him until he said his first “yep”. Looks good.
What can I say? ❤ Wow! This little roaster speaks for itself “Loud and clear if needed”. 😊😊
Matt..you are becoming a “Master Pipe Fitter” The trades are proud of your self taught talent !
😊😊😊😊
Haha thanks!
You might want to change out the SS plugs for brass plugs. SS on SS is subject to galling and can easily jam up the threads. Brass will be much more forgiving.
Perfect Matt ! That's the way we would have done it back in the day . Peace Buddy ! ✌️😎👍
Love Steve's haircut!
Hey Matt, the exhaust sounds GREAT! At first, I was a bit skeptical about hot rodding that '32 B, but after seeing your approach, I'm a believer! WOW!
Thanks for sticking around!
Matt is looking exhausted 1:10
Better to be exhausted than fuming mad with the outcome.
It looks period correct and sounds great.
I much prefer the capped over the uncapped. I must be getting old....😅
Dude!! That thing looks and sounds bitchin!!! Scene you knocked the old man off it!!! Couple of 8 balls and go drag racing !!!✌️Rest in peace Willie Mays!!!
Wow !! Sounds "Awesome" !!! Sounds like it likes the backpressure from the mufflers.
Hope that stainless idea works out for you. It seems like the perfect solution but stainless is NOTORIOUS for galling the threads after it's been subjected to a few heat cycles. I worked at a biotech for 23 years. They had lots of steam driven devices such as a "pure steam generator" used for making water for injection. Once a year this equipment needed to be mostly disassembled for preventive maintenance procedures. No matter how much anti-seize they used on the stainless threads, they would "routinely" need to cut stainless pipes and other pieces, to get them apart due to thread galling. A flanged/gasketed cap would serve you much better I'm afraid !! ;o)
.... sounds better with plugs in....but I'm an old dude....
Nice clean work Matt. Flatheads do have a distinct sound raw or muffled, I like it.
Fantastic job on the exhaust and love that you gave yourself options with the cut-outs! She sounds great both corked and uncorked! Nothing "Ruined" about this roadster build! Just bought some stuff off your Ebay store, helping support the channel and a few less items for you to move to the new parts shop! Go Iron Trap, keep moving forward!
Thanks for watching and thanks for the purchases!
Matt, you have done a marvelous job with the 32, I'm sure Henry would be proud!!❤❤
It is Steve's poor head that is ruined! The roadster is looking and sounding just fine.
Thank you Matt for the update on the Ruined Roadster !
Put Steve in a suit and he could be in Pulp Fiction.
Matt's Muffler Shop ! "No muff too tough , we aim to please !" Lol . Sounds great , both ways . I love the inserts , keeps it simple . A few lights , brakes , & check it out on the road . That engine has a nice gallop to it . With both sides open , it should breathe just fine . Hopefully the "Stop", works as well as the "Go" . Would "juice brakes" ruin it , if it's ruined already ? I'm just glad to see it closer to that first drive slot , again . Drove it as was , after checking , then did the changing . First one I've actually seen you do , that didn't need everything else , before you did the engine . I'll be watching . The only thing I see ruined on your cars , is maybe a point of view . Sounds like a Hot Rod !
Yep juice brakes are on the series of modifications we have planned for “ruining” the car.
Achieving the perfect exhaust sound is an art. And that one sounds great. 🔊
OMG I LOVE THIS HOT ROD!!!
Tail pipes and Tail by moon sweet HOT ROD
Matt the car sounds great! What mufflers did you use?
Just short cheap 12” long glass packs
Sounds great!
is this car still using the Model B Gearing in the rear differential?? as I recall they pretty low...
No different than what a 32-v8 had. But we believe this car has been upgraded and doesn’t have real low gears anymore since it was used for “touring” in its last life
Almost didn't recognise Steve, with his new haircut, until he started talking. But I seem to recall he had fairly short
hair, back in the day, when he first started working at Iron Trap? [PS: the '32 sounds awesome!]
Experience has shown me when using S/steel threaded anything to always use a little never seize. I've lost count of the number of times when the tread catches on a burr and locks up solid. S/steel looks great and never rusts but the threads can be tricky. But ohh does the UNruined roadster sounds awesome, there's something about the flat heads and there sound that's soo pleasant to the ear.....
Great job Mat, you must be EXHAUSTED after all these exhausts you've been doing lately?
As an exhaust fitter I feel for you brother.....
Good job Matt! But I was holding my breath while you were welding under the gas tank. You're the second one I saw doing that this week. Lefty
Hi Matt, this car is far far from ruined. Both exhaust sounds great. Prefer the quieter version myself. Love the color, looks good and style. Steve is looking good too. 👍😍
Sounds great, looks great. Now it's a complete Hot Rod! P.S. Luv the new hair cut Steve!
Hi guys, car looks great who is the new guy with the short haircut.just kidding it's about time Steve cut his hair
😂
It’s weird for me to see pipes that small, all my cars I build 3” duals with an X pipe, sounds good though
That's a really nice example of a early Hotrod your going to have a hard time keeping it .
Maybe I missed it, did Matt say what muffler?
not much diff at idle. yuo think you could design a valve to switch that is better than available ?
Don't you ever get a U.V. burn by welding in a T shirt?
Who's the new clean-cut guy that you have working for you now
Like the build!
Gee Steve looks a million bucks with his hair cut.
I did a lot of dad dancing during the first tig welding scene. There was a bit of tush shakin' goin' on.
Matt, you're getting so good on the pipes you're catching up to Pan! Congrats!
The "ruined" roadster sounds sweet. Looking forward to seeing it driving around. Cheers
Nice to see the apprentice - passing along knowledge - very cool!
Perfect placement on the tailpipes for the ruined(haha) roadster
Sounds great. If you want louder, put the caps in the back and let the sides open
Keep on “Ruinin” ✊🏼⛽️…..
Sounds Killer 👌🏼
The exhaust is spot on. Nice work. 👌🏻
Hey some custom pinstriping would look nuts on that. If it ever goes back to og that can be taken off without ruining the pant. Man, it's coming on nice. ❤️👌🏻👊🏻👍🏻
That would be cool!
How very Jekyll and Hyde of you Matt 😶🌫️
Who is the pretty guy that looks like Steve 😏
dang it sounds good. textbook hot rod through and through.
Flatheads forever, man! Great job, Matt👍
Loud without the plugs. Sweet deep tone with the plugs in. Sounds great.
Sounds and looks great. Nice job
I see the battery getting cooked.
Paint the hangars black!
Why didn’t you use 2 exhaust diverters so you just pull a cable to open or close the system?
Because we didn’t want to. We’ll get out and remove the caps manually just like they did back in the day.
Matt's muffler shop! Is Steve on vacation; haven't seen him around? 🤣
Ha!
Sounds good, and looks fantastic
Sounds great!
Sounds great!!
Sounds great! What are the plans for lights?
Making a headlight bar and mounting some guides or blc headlights
LOVE IT!
Killer ride👍👍
Nice....
What happen to Steve ? Did he have to go court.
Steve is in the background working next to the table against the wall. Steve is “Everywhere ...
just like Santa Claus”. 😊😊
@@williamoneal2763 what I meant he got a hair cut that’s why I ask did have to go to court
@@theodoreko2700 You might say..”He is stepping out.”
@@theodoreko2700 Ya..Steve is ...”Turning over a new leaf” in his clean cut appearance.
Few things sound better, than a lumpy cam!
😮😮!!!!!
🔥
👍💪
Okay now it’s ruined 😂
Hair cut big improvement
Sounds great, what do you have in mind for tail lights?
Maybe 37 taillights? Need to dig in the stash’
@@IronTrapGarage Great choice, the more you "ruined" this sweet ride the better I like it and I honestly believe everything that you have done has increased the value .
Tight !
Looks like a precursor to the early Shelby Mustangs with the side pipes exiting in front of the rear wheels
Probably not traditional, but I think it would be cool to put some sheet metal flames on those exhaust plugs to use as a handle for install/removal.
