My family have done a secret Santa for many years now. It started because we didn’t want my mother to feel that she had to buy for everybody. She was living on a tight budget and felt bad that she couldn’t afford gifts for us. She has passed away now, but we still only buy one gift. It means being able to select something that we can afford, and that the recipient will love.
