I remember telling my family something special is happening in the US soccer federation and MLS when LAFC was born.. it’s growing way faster than I predicted
The interest doesn trail off, its just that to develop at youth level the players need to fund themselves - which they cannot afford to do. So they take up the more 'popular' sports because they must. Everywhere else in the world, big clubs fund the training of their talent, in the US you need to cough up the $$$ before you can develop and many players just cant do that.

Well here in America we call it Soccer like it or not that's how we say it! Not much y'all can say plus Australia, Japan, Canada South Africa also use the term Soccer. Plus here in the US we have Football here, a lot more popular and culturally tied to Americans!
What you Fail to recognise is this.... just think to yourself How Many Countries there are in The World. I the majority say Football Futbol fushball... many different languages yet the same name of Football
In the future nations like the US, Japan, China or even India will dominate this sport. I've never expected this as an European kid back then ... times are changing!
Japan is already one of the bigger nations, India and China will never dominate football, there hasnt even been any player in the top 5 leagues from there and the US has 0 Chance of ever becoming top 10 because it doesnt have the culture
@@kaan4040 US soccer culture is rapidly rising. We now have millions of 3rd/4th generation kids playing the sport. Soccer is now on in just about every sports bar in America and is the 3rd most googled sport in America behind Football and Basketball. It is the 3rd most popular sport for the 18-29 age demographic. MLS is the 7th most attended soccer league in the world averaging 21,000 per match. Soccer is in a substantially better place in 2024 than it was pre NASL when the sport was literally a ghost sport. The NASL helped create the first major interest in the sport fan wise in the 1970's that has continued to today where we got players all over the best leagues in the world and even some playing for some of the best clubs in the world. .
I don't want Football to grow in the United States. If that happens, the United States will begin to spoil it and the sport will not be the same as before, it will die. Football doesn't need the United States and neither do they.
I think exactly the same thing as you. It will be a disaster if USA enters in the game. Actually we are already seeing the change in the rules, trying to increase the number of goals, number of substitutions, etc.
No, soccer is the most popular sports in usa at first ,and they need ,i just don't wanna football growth up in Australia, because australian know nothing about soccer
well, all of the sudden as soccer gains dominance in the USA, the usa lose dominance in economic grotwh, so.... the soccer got famous in the USA but the money party is over, so no more epic events like the super bowl or NBA finals

Well both latin and Asian population increasing in America could also be a factor.
AMERICA is a CONTINENT made up of 35 countries and more than 1000 million inhabitants poor stupid ignorant people are pitiful
Well, Asians don't care about soccer.

Se os Estados Unidos se interessassem pelo futebol uns 40 anos atras . Seriam hj uma potência nesse esporte

Dominate? You can't just write of 120+ years of football culture that some other countries have.
Eventually, eventually, eventually, they will. Their huge populations will be key.
