Stampin' Up! video tutorial by Patty Bennett.
#pattystamps #stampinup #cardmaking
I appreciate that you are honest about the catalog. So many demonstrators make it sound like it is the “perfect” edition. I get they are trying to appeal to a new generation but they put aside those of us that made SU!
Glad you enjoyed it!!
Patty TY for your explanations during the walk through. I find the catalog very disappointing, missed opportunities with so many pages without inspiration & hard to find items. Your organization skills absolutely helped me & will adopt your tab system. Sending my recommendations to SU as you suggested. As a melanoma survivor, thoughts are with you. ❤️🩹
thank you for your support and thoughts!! and I'm glad some of my suggestions were helpful!! :)
You are doing a terrific job of trying to explain what the heck Stampinup was trying to do. I think they failed with this catty. Quick healing and prayers going out to you🥰
Thank you!!
So lovely to know that you are on the road to recovery. I'm a cancer survivor of 21 years now and everyday is a bonus. That's how I look at life. xxx
Oh what a blessing, Wendy!!! :)
Love the cute post-it tabs with polka dots! I am an office supplies addict!!
Me too omg I am an ink pen hoarder😳😳😳
I might be, too :) (as I admire my drawer of post it notes :)
I have been a Stampin Up customer for more than 25 years. Thank you so much for going through the catalog. I had heard that it was different and when I received mine I found it to be very frustrating. Your explanations were very helpful. I appreciated how you were trying to put a positive spin on everything. I do miss that the new stamp designs in the suites and bundles are shown in smaller sizes (not just the encore sets, which I can look up in my old catalogs.) I also miss that the embellishments don't list the the colors and sizes.
Thanks for this catalog review.
I'm sorry to hear about your recent surgery. I'll be keeping you in my prayers for complete healing.
Take care and keep the videos coming. Looking forward to your creative cards.
Thanks for your prayers!!
Thank you so much for all your shares and efforts. Love your vids, Blogs and cards and now these PDFs of the DSP collections, dies and punches will be regularly viewing for me, too. Thank you!
As a new demonstrator this catalogue is so confusing, I just might look elsewhere. Your demonstration has been great. Thank you.
I hope the video will help you as you navigate the catalog. Let me know if you have questions Brenda!
Patty, thank you for walking through this step by step. This is the most helpful demo of the new catalog ! I appreciate all the time this took you.
Thank you, I appreciate you!!
I'm a new demonstrator with a wicked sense of humor. I was cracking up as you'd say, "Random" and "It is what it is friends." I love this group already!
Thank you for walking us through the catalog. It made it easier to to learn the new style of the catalog…but I’m not a fan of the new style! The old style was so much easier to navigate. You did a great job navigating and explaining! ❤️❤️
So glad it was helpful!!
Added comment: I am a retired nurse, we all had to change over the years! Some years were so overwhelming with such major changes. The book, “who moved the cheese” was a good motivation for how we move! Just a thought to share!
thank you!
This catalog has a good index-thank goodness! I rely heavily on it for now. There are some things I do like about this catalog and others, not so much. It does seem SU is moving towards online. I get it, but I do not like it! I so look forward to the catalog and spend so much time flipping through it, marking what I want, checking off what I have. Thank you for sharing.
Praying for your recovery. I’m sure it was difficult to pass on the trip, but agree it was in the best interest of your health and healing.
Thank you for your prayers! I too love the index but have found I'm definitely a more visual person.. so I like the thumbnails of photos of products... just how my brain works. :)
Thank-you for this walk through the new catalog. I have found it helpful as I am finding the new catalog to be frustrating to get through. Your page by page really has helped although I still find much of it to be random and difficult to navigate. Stampin up products are great and as a long time customer of Stampin up I love their products but sometimes their decisions on things leave me wondering. Thank-you for helping.
Glad it was helpful.. I guess you and I are on the same page when it comes to "randomness".... :)
I am a hobby demo in Canada and I have been totally frustrated by this new catalogue. Thank you for your insight. I will refer people to this video
Thank you.. and I'm glad it helped!
I am saying prayers for you for a speedy recovery my daughter is a demonstrator and has stage four cancer she suggested I go to you when she can no longer do this I can’t say her name because at this stage she doesn’t want anyone to know I pray for the both of you God bless you both and keep you safe ❤
Oh my goodness.. My heart is aching for you both.. and I pray for miracles for your daughter!!!! Sending you both hugs, and praying for your family!!
Thank you for your help with finding everything. I also appreciate your honesty regarding some of the changes. I agree; I think they are pushing everyone to the online store.
So happy you enjoyed it!! thank you!!
Thankyou Patty for a great video, looking forward to receiving my new catalogue. Hoping you heal well. 🥰🇬🇧
Thank you so much!
remember the jigsaw cards we did in fall '23 with the 6X6 paper with copper foiling? I'm going to use Thoughtful Journey with its Specialty shiny paper to make some jigsaw cards, gotta get those pearls too! You're so inspiring! You are wise to stay home post surgery, don't want to risk prolonging the healing process. God bless, sending prayers!
awesome idea!
Patty, I'm so glad to hear that they got it all...Good Newa!!!! Hugs!
Thank you!!
You did a great job trying to make sense of this catalogue. It is very tedious & confusing. I will be sharing my feedback with SU. This catalogue isn’t a positive UX experience. Sending well wishes for your healing process!
Thank you!!
As a former CTMH consultant now with StampinUp, I really appreciated this walk thru and the explanation of different products. I can now appreciate the contents of this catalog. I feel like I have a better grasp on the products and will be better able to share this information with my customers. I will follow your page for continued inspiration. Thank you so much.
Oh I am so happy to hear that!! thank you! I'm thrilled it was helpful!!
If you think of this catalog as more of an Inspiring Magazine, it is easier to digest. The catalog is designed to send you to the online store. Instead of the shopping point being the catalog, it is now the online store. When you shop Amazon, you don’t have a catalog. The shopping point is online.
Exactly, thank you!
Prayers for a good recovery Patti. I love your videos and this one is very helpful because I REALLY do not like the new catalog lay out. It's so hard to find what I am looking for. Stampin Up needs to ask your opinion when they want to make any changes in the future!
Thank you so much.. so glad it was helpful. I encourage you to contact Stampin Up! and share your suggestions for improvement so hopefully they will make changes for next year.
Thank you Patti for your very thoughtful walk through. i appreciate your upbeat attitude and your sweet chuckle. I vented, nicely, to SU, but am doubtful there will be any changes as catalogs are prepared far in advance of publications. My heart is a bit broken. Wish you good health and fortune
I LOVE this new catalog!!!!!!!!!
yay!! So happy to hear that!! Tell me more.. what changes did you particularly love?
Me Too! I think it is a nice change. Most of the complaints I have heard are "they keep telling people to ask their demonstrators." I think that is why demonstrators are important. Demonstrators should be happy about being needed. I think if this had been the first catalog everyone would love it. change is hard. I really think it is a smart change.
AWESOME GOING THROUGHT THE CATALOG, VERY HELPFUL!!
thank you for watching, glad you enjoyed it!
Hi Patty, Watching from Iowa. Enjoy watching your videos and I’m glad you laugh. Best medicine!
So sweet of you!
Watched the replay and thank you for all the info and the downloads. You are so sweet to do all this. Praying you heal quickly and completely. Hugs.
Thanks for your prayers, and glad you enjoyed it all!! Thank you!
I think they are moving shoppers to online and the purpose of the catalog is as an idea book. Not user friendly for finding products using the catalog. Not in love with the shift but I am sure I will get used to it.
I hope the video was at least a little helpful in navigating the changes.
I hope you are feeling better soon, Patty 🙏😔
thank you.. they said 4 to 6 months.
After watching your amazing tutorial Patty, to me the new catalogue "makes me think" the future of catalogues will end and only have online shopping. This caddie to "me" is like a "how to do" catalogue. I do find it difficult to find product. Thank you for all you shared with us today 🥰
It does make me wonder too about the future of the catalogs.. please share any input you have with Stampin' UP!
You did a fantastic job on this video!
Ty so much
So kind of you, thank you!
The No one asked me catalogue!
You can send your input to Stampin' Up! so they have time to make changes for upcoming catalogs.
Thank you Patty! Best wishes for a quick recovery 🙏 your walkthrough is very useful. Being retired from a large company, I could see a high focus on user’s experience and it seems the focused persona for this catalog has been the new customer, which i can understand with the caveat of the separate carry over products as this does not make real sense to me and the small images might not help selling them. Using the online store is good…. As long as you know a reference exists…. Anyway to stay positive, I would say there were good sides, like the sketches, the color wheels. I was a bit puzzled by the randomness as well. I’ve never been a great fan of kits even when I was new to the Stampin Up products because most of the time I think the papers are too basic and rather than making a card that is quick and more affordable but not really nice I preferred to buy it 😂 but this is personal. Again thank you 💙💙💙
Thank you so much!!
Thank you for the thorough walk through of the catalog. In my opinion, SU is pointing shoppers to the online catalog where things can be seen clearly. I personally love a paper catalog, but I also appreciate the online catalog. SU is aware that young people are accustomed to shopping online and it is a way to appeal to new crafters and shoppers. It is also cost effective, as you mentioned. That being said, the arrangement of items in this catalog can be very confusing! Again - thanks for all you do!
I love the paper catalog too!! not easy to give up after 30 years!!
Watched the replay. Thanks so much for going through the catalog and showing how you do your tabs. One idea I have regarding the items that are placed randomly throughout the catalog and easily overlooked: use a highlighter in the description. I saw highlighters that do NOT bleed through the page, so plan to buy those to use in my catalog.
thanks, great tip!!
Thank you Patty four explaining this catalog
You are most welcome!
I haven’t been making cards long enough to fall in love with a catalog. When I opened this catalog I thought the intro page was nice but really didn’t care for the white text with peach colored background. It isn’t enough contrast. I did like all the pictures and had no trouble finding products. I was disappointed in the color wheel. I thought it was incomplete but the color theory was nice. Overall I thought it was a nice catalog. I order off the website and this catalog provides ideas and clear pictures.
Please do send your input about the white on peach to Stampin' Up!. They need to hear that from LOTS of us!!!
Thanks for providing the DSP and Punch printouts. The designers of this catalog really dropped the ball by leaving these out of the catalog.
It’s taken me time but I have come to love the new catalog. As a business demonstrator, I have made adjustments. I have submitted my recommendation to the sand box (suggestion Box)
Yay! so glad you love it!!
Watching the replay on Friday afternoon from Philadelphia. Taking a brief respite.
Thank you for watching!!
Watching the replay.
I’m new to Stampin’ Up! This is only my second catalog ever.
I thought it was just me having a difficult time navigating this one!
I had to look online to get clarity on some items.
Thanks for the walk through!
That’s exactly what they want you to do. That is
They want send you to the online store from the catalog. The catalog is not the point of purchase like it has been in the past.
@@facsmom and that makes sense.
I order online.
I’ve never met my Demonstrator- she lives in another state. I found her online.
So I guess it makes sense to transition to online shopping.
Yes, I think that's exactly it... "get more info in the online store"
Great description to this catalog a Scavenger Hunt!
Thank you!!
Great catalog review! Take care of yourself! Love all you do!
Thank you so much!
Watching the replay in Switzerland 🇨🇭 ❤❤
Thank you so much for watching!!
I absolutely love this catalog. I think that Stampin Up! Has finally addressed an issue that has been needed for 35 years. I will never forget my first SU workshop I attended 25+ years ago. Stamping was new to me and I was so excited to get started. We made a very cute card and I was hooked. However, The catalog was SO overwhelming. So many stamp sets and then ALL the stuff to just get started in the most basic way…stamps, black ink, something to color with, color ink, white card-stock, color card-stock, paper trimmer rubber scissors. This was bare minimum. I couldn’t afford all that and went home so sad. The demo wasn’t a lot of help because there was no way to enter this craft without a lot of output money wise. 10 plus years later I became a demo. BUT if SU had all inclusive kits OR the ephemera packs and cards, ai would have been thrilled. The kits allow a successful experience for a brand new crafter for around $15 to $25. You have all you need to make several cards that are gorgeous, and you get the added benefit of building a small stash of stamps and ink. The ephemera packs gives you an opportunity to stretch that craft muscle as you start to get a few sentiments stamps and play with the design elements. I think a lot of people have forgotten that new stamper experience and the overwhelming nature of it. Kudos to SU for finally addressing it!
Thanks for sharing your tabbing system. I think this is a huge help.
GREAT input!!! love your thoughts!
Yes, I do love the new areas of ease for newbies though I think it should've been an addition to the prior format vs a replacement.
Wow! That helped soooooo much! Thank you for the extra helpful pages! Going to your Blog tomorrow! ❤️💋
Thank you!! they are also linked above in the UA-cam description.
As a person that doesn't like change I'm definitely on the fence about the new catalog.
I totally understand.. but thankfully doing this with the tabs and thinking it through really helped me.
Thanks Patti for the guidance I would have missed a lot appreciate it 🙏 😊
Glad you found it helpful!!
Thank you for walking us thru this catalogue! Don’t know if you noticed, but after several passes thru the pages, I did. The thing I really like is that with every bundle, they have highlighted on the stamp set which images have dies. As you know, often the dies don’t necessarily all match with the stamp images. Sometimes you have to look closely, as the colors are pastels, but they use the same highlight color on the stamps that is used in the picture of the dies. I really appreciate this feature!!
Yes, it's been nice to have that feature in the last several catalogs... love it!
Quick recovery Patty.
thank you.. a few more months :)
Watched replay ama ing job going through the new catalog page by page and adding the extras. I love the idea of the color wheel it would be nice to have a choice with and without in colors, that would be a great thing to put with your papers for future reference of color names.
Please send that suggestion to Stampin' Up!
I was in Iowa on holidays when Neil Armstrong walked on the moon and I can still remember exactly the scene, the family room and so on🇫🇷Normandy
Isn't that amazing how we remember exactly where we were on occasions like that!!?
Thank Patty
For this explanation of the new catalog. Thank you for the additional resources!
You are most welcome. thank you for watching!!
My opinion only: I don't think there is anything redeeming about this catalog. I am a demonstrator & yes, no one asked for my input either.
Please share your suggestions to improve the catalog with demo support.. they are eager for feedback!
So agree the catalog is not a good one thus year :(
Concur. Disappointed !
I really appreciate your candor. And, as always, thank you for the tab suggestions! ❤
So glad you enjoyed it!!
This video was out of the park FANTASTIC! I learned a lot! I wish you lived near me♥️where do you live?
So very kind of you!! Thank you! I am in the San Francisco Bay Area.
I’m in Michigan 😳 miles away 🤦♀️
I’m a shape dies and punches addict😂you gave the best explanations I have heard so far. Thanks 🇫🇷Normandy😊
You are so kind Monique!! thank you!!
Thank you for this Patty, I have to say you explaining the cost of sending the catalogs I totally understand how this is better for you and I’m glad for that, do you think that down the line, the catalog will be a thing of the past and online will take over? I love having the catalog to hold in my hands, I’ve always loved the catalog, I remember way back when in the catalog when they showed a card and on the side listed everything that was used on that card..that was years ago, again thank you for this wonderful video, you are in my prayers for healing,
It's certainly possible that it will eventually be all online.. I personally wouldn't mind 3 smaller "mini catalogs" a year..
Another note-I missed so many things. A typical customer is NOT going to catch all of these truly hidden gems!
Glad I was able to help you find a few things :)
Oh thank you soooo much Patty , hugs Frenchie Hum from Florida 🌹
Glad they got all the cancer. Hope you are healing now
thank you.. 4 to 6 month healing/recovery.
Sorry your dealing with cancer
I like the,new catalof. I'm an occasional customer and it was easier to look thru than previous years because of the way it's organized
Yay! thank you!!
Very helpful! Thank you for the PDF sheets. Heal well and quickly!
You are most welcome.. glad you enjoyed them!!
I did not like this Catalog Patty till I watched your video. This is my third time watching it now I couldn’t make heads or tails of it. I’m one of those people. Why do you have to change things let Simplicity and what worked in the past work for tomorrow, but they didn’t ask my opinion either.
You made my day Cindy.. thank you!! So glad the video was helpful!!
Agree
Your walk-through was very helpful so I can explain the layout to my customers. I think SU may be trying to steer everyone to the Online Store with this catalog. I also went on-line and saw some things that were on the retired list and now they are showing they can be ordered on line. Some of these things were even discounted before. Was really surprised to see this. Did you notice this? Hope your healing from your skin surgery goes well.
I had not really looked through the online store.. just placed my orders and back to work.. but I think that will be the norm now... excess inventory will be "online only" ... sometimes I feel like I can't keep up :)
@@pattystamps, I know what you mean. After not being able to teach classes at our West Maui senior center during Covid when everything was shut down for over 2 years, and just after being given the okay to start up classes again, the West Maui Senior Center was destroyed in the Maui Fire, so I have a lot of stamps that I love, but have never used. My neighbor and I are making cards to sell at a local boutique, but I can’t keep buying stamps until I use the ones I have. I really appreciate your videos so much and appreciate your sharing of ideas even to other demonstrators and not just customers. You may not remember, but my Team Leader Cheryl Hamilton and several of us on her team met you and other demonstrators who won the incentive trip to Maui. We gave out those small hand sanitizers that we had made decorative holders for. Sorry you couldn’t go on the incentive trip to Mexico, but hope you heal quickly and completely from your surgery. Take care.
You are so kind to do this for us
Happy to help.. glad you liked the resources!!
TY Patty, I couldn't myself put words, guiding words to this, but you did a fantastic job! Given that I've not yet posted videos, I'll be referring my clients to this video. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
ps. I've got tabs to include with their catty(s) being sent out tomorrow... I'm going to upgrade it to 3 different colors so they can tab along! Xx, Mercy
Glad it was helpful!!
I don’t like that we have to go to the online store for contents and explanations of products.
Please share your feedback with Stampin' Up!
Thank You for ALL your helpful tips and time/effort. I Always learn something new when I watch your videos. This helped clear up some of the “new variations” in the catalog. I will be adding a couple suggestions to the sand box like so much wasted space could be changed if they would show carryover/encore products 4 to page instead of 6. I’ve had to add a magnifying glass as a “New” tool to my craft room just to read the catalog. Yes I can look up things in the on-line store but if out with a customer ( sometimes for coffee and cards) may not always have immediate access to computer. I don’t have money for a laptop but guess that can go on the wish list for business tools. Again Thank You for your help:time. Prayers for your Recovery and so Very Thankful they “got all” the cancer. I know you like to flower garden so remember sunscreen sunscreen sunscreen. I grew up in the 60s and 70s so I like so many others sunbaked All summers trying to get as dark as possible Not knowing how I was damming my skin. Now my skin certainly is aging and showing lots of sun spots. So when I preach about sunscreen I’m really reminding myself.
thank you for sharing your suggestions with them!!
Watching the replay.
thanks for watching!
I miss the names of the colors on items, i.e. embellishments.
yes, not ideal to check the online store, but a lot of work to translate all the colors in all the languages, too.
Great video! Thank you. I tabbed along with you! I had to contact customer service for thick basic white! I couldn't find when I got my catalog.
I finally found it on page 99. I'm going to make a note in the index.
Glad you enjoyed the tab idea!!
Watched the replay! Very helpful! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for watching!!!! Glad it was helpful!
I like the new catalog!
yay!!
Excellent walk-thru! Thank you! Did not like catalog at first, but am getting used to it. Your walk-thru is very helpful! Good job! 👍👍❤️
So glad it was helpful!

Thank you for watching!!! So glad it helped Lauren!!
@@pattystamps You narrate a new catalog so well Patty! Bravo! You are appreciated.
Thank you for sharing. It was very helpful.
Watching replay! Thanks so much for the walkthrough. This really does make more sense now. Been loving Stampin’Up for over 20 years and this is definitely a change! I love online shopping but I will miss shopping from the new catalog exclusively each year. Have always eagerly checked my mailbox around catalog time but now I feel like I would be better off getting online so I can see everything.
Hi everyone from Pottsboro, TX!
Thanks for watching the replay!
So glad they got it all! I have that same issue with my skin
me too!
I hope your healing well God bless.
thank you!!
I watched the replay, great job, big help!

Love this video !
Thank you Judy!!
Thank you. It has been very helpful! 😊
So happy to hear that! thank you for watching!!
Hi from Minnesota I'm a Demonstrator also thanks for your tips😊😊
You are most welcome.. thanks for watching!!
yhey are making you STUDY this catalog!!!!
yes, felt a little like being back in HS !! :)
Unfortunately, as a busy person I don't have time to STUDY a catalog. I need to find one or two pages with ALL the punches or designer series paper, make my choice, make my purchase, and be done with it. Visiting the online store is just another step that I don't have time for, so I don't make a purchase
Thanks so so much cause they have lots of things I didn t see thank again thanks
Thanks. I'm a new demonstrator in Australia.
Welcome!!
Glad your surgery went well!!
Thank you!
thank you sooo much for the walkthrough
you are most welcome
