Plus don't forget what Tricia said the first time: "This is all I ever do anymore, cleaning up after my kids. 'Don't worry mommy will take care of it.'". If he didn't get into any trouble over killing his sister, god knows what else he got away with since then that his mom help cover up for.
Gunner unironically telling his mom that Esther is a psychopath when he murdered his little sister - probably on purpose, if he used it as a threat to Esther later on - is such an underrated line and an underrated creepy character. That kid was going to become either a fortune 500 CEO or a serial killer or both
I did not see the twist _of the 1st movie_ coming at all!!😱This one...I got close. When the mom started to shoot the detective at 1st I was super-confused @.@ but then I stopped the movie and I said:"Wait...what if SHE killed the real Esther?!?O____O"and...well...let's say..close enough!;-P
That twist got me to the edge of my seat and got so excited. I was afraid they were gonna rehash what they did in the original. It’s such a good prequel! Also I love the Psycho reference in the back. Chefs kiss.
The twist was inspired by one of the theories in the JonBenet Ramsey case. The theory is that the brother accidentally killed her and the parents covered it up and staged it as a kidnapping and murder.
I loved your reaction as always! When I was younger, I was SO SCARED of the actress who played Esther because she played that role too well for my 11 year old brain 😭 also I actually love how they didn't use any CGI on her face because to me it's like oh the illusion of her being a child is broken for us as the audience so it feels very... artistic? Is the word I guess. I thought it was weird how everyone (like the therapist and the dad who obviously weren't in on it) was like Esther doesn't remember stuff but like trauma effects memory so that would be realistic. Also Gunnar is kinda cute but I feel like he would hate crime me irl because he's giving racist and homophobic.
This situation has happened before in real life...where a child has gone missing, they come back but it wasn't actually the missing child. Nicholas Barclay and Bobby Dunbar are a couple of famous examples.
Amazing! Just finished this movie tonight and immediately watched your review, and I couldn't agree more. I think it was a solid plot done really well.
Movie reaction 🖤🖤🖤 was great!! I could help to think how closely Ester’s story resembled the insanely TRUE wild story of Nicholas Barclay. Barclay was like 30, passing off as a 15 year old and would seek refuge at Orphanages in Europe until he impersonated a missing American kid and boooyyy does it get wild. Well you kinda already know how the story, sort of, ends lol 😂.
This was an amazing prequel, hopefully pearl is going to be just as amazing with the plot twists. Ester is brutal how they wrote Julias character ester took on that brutality in the orginal.
According to villains wiki, Leena was raped by her father, which sexualized her, until he started dating some woman when Leena’s dwarfism became apparent. Unsurprisingly, she killed them both.
07:40 - 07:42 *WILLOOOOW!!!!* 😍😍😍😍 MY LOVE...!!!!😊❤❤❤❤ 16:01 - 16:05 Leena:"You forgot to mind your fucking buisness!🔥__🔥" 19:41 - 19:45 "ALRIGHT,I GET IT,YOU'RE EVIL!🙄"by Buffy 20:33 - 20:40 ❤❤❤❤
Okay, little rant about my terrible night. The upstairs neighbours had a visitor (teenage son, I think?) who was stomping around and banging all night, woke me up and deprived me of hours of sleep when I have to be up early for a shift, I’m in the WORST mood, so this is the perfect time for you to post because I need the pick-me-up! 🤪 (And thank you for letting me vent in your comments 😂)
Hey Nick! To be honest, I avoided _The Orphan_ for many years, unsure why, but when I saw your reaction came up, I went back and watched it and then the sequel. And I loved it! The original one was more psychological horror but this one definitely veers into campy territory, especially the interactions between Esther and Tricia later on. That smoothie scene was both hilarious and disgusting at the same time. I think the best ending plot twist that I watched must be _Les Diaboliques_ , a French thriller from 1955. Very suspenseful, maybe not the content for the channel, but check it out if you have not seen it. Also, another commentator below recommends _The Stepfather_ , which I totally second; it is such a disturbing film, and definitely not in a way most people think.
I watched this on a flight from NZ yesterday and I loved it as much as the first one, and the people involved said there's a possibility of another movie. It's my guilty pleasure movie series.
Have you heard of the case of Nicholas Barclay? A real life case of a missing kid, and an adult stranger who looks nothing like him being accepted by his family. I think they based this movie on that.
this is one of the funniest review channels i've ever seen. i've been binging your videos for the last 2 hours. so glad this showed up in my recommended. you're absolutely hysterical 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
This is my first time on your channel and the intro was fire! Subscribed! You also watched Hannibal?! My favorite tv show?! Ohoho I'm gonna binge watch that
Great show, honestly, I liked Esther in the first movie (at least at first, then by the end she was too completely evil to love). As evil as she seemed to be, she had an odd sense of empathy (the injured bird scene). Never knew why this movie didn't garner more attention. Maybe it came out when another movie came out. Wonderful character, though! Have you ever watched Stepfather, the original? I think it was redone, but the original was both kind of scary but also funny. It has OG Terry O'Quinn in it. There were about three movies of the original Stepfather, and I used to watch them with my Aunt when I was a teen.
When I saw that your reaction video for this movie was out I was like I want to see the video so bad when I finally saw the movie I just first thing I did was watching your reaction video
Hello friend you always make me laugh love it. it's been awhile since you did night of the demons part 1. me and my friends are so waiting for you to finally do part 2 of night of the demons
I can't wait to watch the second one! My schedule is for the most part set till the end of the year, but I "might" be able to fit it in. Don't hold me to that tho! 😅
There’s a real guy who did this to an American family. His name was Nicolas something but he literally got all the same tattoos and said his eye colour changed due to injections etc
I wasn't going to watch this one. I saw the first one and thought it was okay, but had no interest in seeing this one. So I'm glad that you and @zzavid both did a reaction to it this week so now I don't have to!
While Ester does look different I thought they did a decent job. At least it wasn’t overly CGI’d. 🤷🏻♀️ Also the um… certain sound you used had me looking at my phone for a sec. 🙈
I always wondered if Jimmy Bennet's character recovered from what she did to him in the first movie. He actually died in the alternate version of the movie. Jimmy Bennet knew how to play horrible little shits like it was an art form.
Wait, the brother did it? They’re using the JonBenet Ramsey theory along with that dude that said he was some grieving parents’ missing kid. I see you, “Orphan”.
Gunnar is just as crazy as Leena. He clearly has no guilt over killing his real sister, and he’s capable of socializing with others like he never did.
Plus don't forget what Tricia said the first time: "This is all I ever do anymore, cleaning up after my kids. 'Don't worry mommy will take care of it.'". If he didn't get into any trouble over killing his sister, god knows what else he got away with since then that his mom help cover up for.
The fact that we were rooting for Esther!! This was a very good prequel movie overall

The scene where Esther stole the car and drove it is still living in my head rent free. What a girlboss
that's one of my favorite scenes 😎
GTE : GRAND THEFT ESTHER 😂
I actually loved this. They used all practical makeup and stuff to de-age her and make her smaller. She even had a double for wide shots!
I'm shocked they didn't use CGI!
@@nicksaysboo17 I know! There are even behind the scenes snippets showing her coaching her mini. It was really cute
I was wondering about the blocking and forced perspective to make her look smaller. They did a really great job!
To look taller everyone else had on big platform shoes 😂 they posted a picture. Looks like the had a ball making it.
@@ateam404 yeah I know! Super smart idea to make it work
The plot twist was what made this movie worth watching😊
I was shocked and am still shocked.
Truth
I loved this movie. It is definitely campy. When Ms. Gunnar got smack, the gasp he gave...I died!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 And the gag of the twist. Like, wow!
This one was fun! Did not see the twist coming at all. Julia Stiles works as a beotch!😂 Loved the reaction as always!💜💜
Julia is great! Thanks for watching, Kathy!

So happy I found a horror reactor who loves Buffy as much as I do. The little Buffy moments make my heart happy.
When Ms Styles popped up in there with that gun! SHOOKETH!!!
I thought there was too much vodka in the drink, I was hella shook 🙃
The first movie is a underrated CLASSIC
I thought I was the only one who compared the kitchen fight between Tricia and Leena to Sidney and Gale’s fight with Amber😭
You are not alone!

Some deaths were so satisfying (Gunnar), some were "well it had to happen" (mom, cop), and some were "well shucks" (hot dad), but it was a fun ride.
The third one is being written right now. I love prequel movies
Amazing! Just finished this movie tonight and immediately watched your review, and I couldn't agree more. I think it was a solid plot done really well.

I love the Orphan films. I never even heard of them before watching your reaction and Zzavid's. Absolutely fantastic.
Ngl...I really enjoyed watching Esther do her thing while dealing with a couple crazy assholes in the process.
You gotta love a great villain 🖤
Honestly I love this movie it was like Death Becomes Her meets Mommy Dearest

Yes Esther 👏🏽👏🏽
In the immortal words of Wendy Williams "She's an icon, She's a Legend and She is the Moment."

The Psycho like ending is so satisfying & fitting in a strange way.
The house looks like a Tudor style manor.
What pissed me off was how she walked put that burning house with nary a tickle in her throat and a red eyeball from smoke inhalation
I told you! Only a Farmiga can defeat her!
Esther putting the wreck in homewrecker.
Never in my life thought I'd be rooting for this little Orphan but here we are wishin everyone else but her dead lol
This is my first time on your channel and the intro was fire! Subscribed!

Esther's makeup tricks got better in the two years before she met the Coleman family.
If there's an award for best plot twist of 2022 I think we have a winnerrrr 🏆
It was certainly one no one saw coming!
Love the channel and your reactions! This movie had me dying! I can tell you really admire Zzavid because you do alot of his gimmicks/schticks.
Omg I loved that Movie :D:D:D the first one was AMAZING and this one did a very good job of connecting the pieces :D!
i know people in this, people who worked on it too. i love it. it was filmed where i live
Edit: i live in Canada
one of the best movies to watch reactionvids on youtube, about 20 times on as many channels with this vid included ;)
Ester. Who is Lizzy Borden.
Nick. Your role model.
Me. 🤣
The house in this movie reminded me of the one from seance
Miss Tricia really decided to be the living embodiment of that Kim Kardashian "it's what she deserves" meme huh

Niiiiiick I can’t 😂 you’re perfect
What a reaction, I loved it! ❤️❤️❤️
hand waving activated. ; ) can suspend disbelief.
I liked the movie, but everytime I remembered that the other actors had to wear boots to be taller than Esther I started laughing
I didn't know that 🫢
@@nicksaysboo17 they looked like they were going to go to a Kiss concert with those platform boots.
I was so sure it was just editing. Figure the boots would make their legs look too long....

we've entered into a world of
Crazy Town with this mom

I liked this movie but the odd filter was definitely...a choice, i too could only think of scream 4
Are you Scandinavian? I noticed the tattoo on your right arm is the Nordic rune for “thorn”!
I am not, I got it because they use it in the Halloween series!
I love the first one and this one wasn't bad it was a cool twist. I love your reactions ...Your the best 👍🏾💯
Top sheet all the way!

Depends on the length of the movie, and my overall mood. Usually a few evenings worth.
That makes me wonder if it is possible to treat the gland disorder. If not, whatever. If so, why not treat it?
