    Currently, I own and have owned EWQL Symphonic Orchestra Gold Edition for years and was thinking about purchasing EWQL Symphonic Orchestra Platinum Plus.
    I'm also an owner of Native Instruments Symphony Strings Essentials, but it lacks Divisi.
    Has anyone done a comparison of the two libraries yet?

    Why does the dynamics knob reset to a default value before the knob is ever touched? Now one thing I noticed touching the scumorph knob on the sound preset WILL NOT send any CC data, only the MOD wheel!! Thankfully aware of this :-/ But as far as the init value not being recorded of any synth's CC state is a dire mystery. I am sure others have this issue too! What am I doing wrong? I have a Komplete keyboard I had just recently acquired as well as the Komplete bundle.
    Example - Let's say you begin with a new track and set the knob to %50 before anything is even recorded! The init value seems to be entirely ignored unless the knob was moved during the recording! I in other words have to move the knob or draw in a CC value to not have the CC change to %0!! Without doing this, eventually while working on the project this results in a muted audio channel as the dynamics goes to %0, below the init value that the preset starts with! This affects every CC at certain points! How does one make this setup less annoying? I hear from Evil Dragon that this is something to do with MIDI even chasing wich I have enabled! This apparently can happen in Ableton Live! I will be ever grateful to wisdom on this!
    My Daw I use is Cakewalk by Bandlab. I wonder if that's the problem :-/ I just need to know if I need to change my workflow? This issue seems to affect other CC values too resulting projects not sounding right as all the CC values I tinker with are not being recorded since Id have to TOUCH each MIDI CC knob DURING RECORDING!! Where is the value stored temporarily if not already stored in a MIDI track? Do I need to SYSEX or something? That seems a little backwards! Am I missing something? I am not new to this! However, I may need to consider using the Komplete front end to get around this...
    Anyone chime in please! THANKS!

  • @EddyJaber
    @EddyJaber 6 років тому

    Does anyone know if an orchestral VST with more than between 5 and 10 basics articulations exists ? As an example for the strings, in addition to all the basics possibilities that all VST propose I never saw one that allows the composer to play Sul tasto, sul ponticello, portato, saltando, jeté, finger tremolo, col legno, col legno battuto, left hand pizz, a punta d'arco, al tallone, pushed, pulled etc. I'm sorry but without having all the possibilities of music I wouldn't feel as an artist who use a VST to put in sound his ideas, but as a skiver whose the mind is limited by the possibilities of his tools.
    So could somebody tell me if an orchestral VST made for real music exists or if they're all just a way to show off with powerchords cinematics compositions, thanks !

    • @wrspace

      The main artics for strings are here, and I really love the auto divisi feature which is a huge plus.
      But if you want those artics you mention I'd check out Spitfire Audio string libraries. Their Albion V is awesome imo, and there's others too. But the down-side of some (eg Albion V) is that for scoring there's "high strings", "low strings", high brass, low brass etc. However the subtlety together with a huge range of extra artics are def there in SA, and I feel SA string libraries could complement this AudioBro library which, although not cheap (as with SA), looks and sounds very good indeed, user-friendly with a great GUI.
      Matching reverbs/spatial reflections of the different VIs could be challenging and would take time and skill.
      I do like the warmth and full-bodied unison broad sweeping string orchestra legato sound of this AudioBro /NI VI however. Good luck in your searching

    How do you control the dynamics - crescendo and diminuendo?

    • @Wourghk
      @Wourghk 8 років тому +1

      A mod wheel, breath controller, pedal, or any hardware that sends a MIDI CC signal. I personally use a USB MIDI breath controller to free my hands for playing. Check out Mike Verta's VI Techniques videos for a quick run-down on how to control your orchestral VIs properly with a mod wheel.

      +Jake Surname after watching quite a few videos of random composers using this, it does sound pretty good compared to the sound in this video and on the NI page demos, I'm really considering buying it now. I can't really find any demo version (for download) of many Native Instrument sounds, which makes me sad, but watching multiple videos of this program working pretty well, it's pretty much enough for me to figure it *Is* pretty good.

      But Symphony series Pro is pretty good as well, I'd still prefer this if I had the money.
