Quite possibly a winner or third place at worst, haven't heard all the songs of other contestants but what I have heard by now Albania clearly has the best song.
COntrasting it's Communist era under Hoxha, Albania has been showing amazing growth in many ways: cultural openness, tolerance, modern facilities (new stadium that they used to announce Albina's win a few years ago) and a new 450ft Skyscraper. It's language is an isolate, unrelated closely to any other primary language surrounding it, but apparently ENglish usage is on the rise, given its a common ground that many of the smaller countries with challenging languages can use to meet and communicate. I remember reading a funny observation about the Nordic countries recently, that given the linguistic distance of Icelandic/Faeroese from the others, and the confusion caused by Bokmal/Nynorsk, and then the infamous Danish "mouth-potato" issue, its just sort of generally agreed among the Scandinavians to use English quite often to simplify things, since nearly all of them are required to learn it.
Merry Christimas Maria e Hanna. They were my favourites at first listened, but I was surprised that they won. I am curious for their album. I read they have no expectations to win. They entered FiK to promote their album in Albania and now They will going to Eurovision.
They've indicated this isnt even one of the big numbers for their upcoming album, but that entering was meant to help boost the album. As a result you can sort of tell that the staging is very short notice and minimal. They definitely need to come up with something for the man to do during his spoken portion. ESC audiences arent known for strong attention spans LOL. Winning was a HUGE surprise to them. Also, Song wil remain in Albanian with NO English at all (as of this point in time - they do have 4.5 months to adjust).
I can see your point, and I meant rap in the wider definition by refering to rap. Rap can be a very wide definition that discribes poetry performed to a rythem, which I think is fitting in this case.
As fire and instantly catchy as this song is, it is again sad that it's getting little betting on it at all. Meanwhile BELGIUM is at the top, with NOTHING revealed much at all about its potential winner. >.
What basically happened is that the Band is called after a city. And it means Electronic Shkodra, and the mayor of the city just ordered everyone to vote this song. He wanted to promote his city in Basel and made them win (the popular vote). Also the PM is expected to run as a MP in Shkodra. So this is basically a political choice. Anyway the song is not bad.
Karnaval was a generic as hell song performed well. It was a safer qualifier than Zjerm, but would've, let's be real, topped at like 15-18th place. Zjerm is riskier, might not qualify, might top 5
Naaah. Elvana's song was just some generic pop stuff that would have gone nowhere, there are plenty of similar songs at ESC anyway. The last time that Albania sent a non generic song they went on top 5, after that all the songs did miserably bad. This time round Albania has a great chance, if not winning at least being at top 3!
What is your opinion on SHKODRA ELEKTRONIKE - ZJERM?
Best song Albania has ever sent in Eurovision imo. Yes I said it!
pure art
Potentional top 10

This song is definitely a grower.
Understanding the lyrics makes this song a true masterpiece 👍👌
I believe you! Looking forward to dive into it
She is unique! Hope she gets a prize in Eurovision!
Agreed!!
it is actually vogueing! she said she was paying tribute to the ballroom culture
Ah, LOOVE IT! Always a hit in Eurovision
@@esc.norway i liked how she described it as the a type of dance of somebody who wants to be a star

...and by what I heard from some of the other songs for ESC it very much looks like this will be the surprise of the year, that is by winning the ESC.
Merry Christmas Antony
Albanians are everywhere in the music industry
Albania deserves their 1st Victory at Eurovision song contest
Ava Max , Dua LIPA, Bebe Rexha, Rita Ora, Dhurata Dora, Era Istrefi , Gashi are Albanians

Hello Norge 🎉
Hallo Albania

The male is not rapping; he is reading, similar to how one would read poetry.

and there was a LOT of that in FiK this year... apparently quite a common thing in Albanian culture.
Heia heia Albania🇦🇱🇦🇱🇦🇱

Is she back with an official song!?
Yeah but if you stop it every 3 seconds it becomes really difficult to bear with you 😊

That is not vouge-ing, it actually is Albanian folk dance moves mixed with some belly dancing moves.
It’s vogue. Beatrice said it!!
Eshte vogue dhe eshte voguing o vlla se e ka thene vete Beatricja ...Ndersa levizjet jane ato qe bente ajo kur ishte goce e vogel, para pasqyres
As an Albanian myself, this is definetly not a albanian folk dance LOL, she even mentioned the "vogueing" part herself in an interview.
!
it is voguing, probly with some Alb influence, but it is vouging
Unique , but Albania will be robbed as always .ALBANIA ❤️
Elvana Gjata with "Karnaval" was the song that would bring Eurovision to Tirana Albania. But with "Zjerm" Albania will be disqualified.
Her performance was very weak! She would have been a NQ .
